After the eighties nothing new had any interest for me.What a ride it has been ! Seemed like just yesterday that it all started. The internet and technology has taken music in a completely different direction that does not compare to yesterday.Fifties and Sixtys were my favorite decades.

Maestro had such a smooth and well balanced voice. Not nasal or throaty, just clear and resonant. One of my earliest vocal influences, along w/ Ton Williams (Platters) and a few others. I used to sing this stuff in Jr. & Sr. high school and everyone thought I was kinda strange and they nick named me Song Bird. RIP Johnny Maestro.

God I miss this era. I was 14 years old and I was crazy about this girl. luckily I caught her eye , she was so cute. we listen to all these songs from this era and and danced our feet off. what a great time . I was so fortunate that this pretty little thing thought enough of me to be my bride. our whole lives we listen to music it was a part of us. we were married 47 years and she was the love of my life. unfortunately my beautiful bride lost her battle with cancer. it makes me sad sometimes to listen to this music but it also is my link to my love.

Oh yes, I have all the Crests LP's and also these on CD's. These were all beautiful simple songs which remind me when I was a teenager. Of course, I have all these early rock LP's and 98% on CD's. Someone here wrote that this was an interracial group, John was an Italian, there were two guys from the US and one Hispanic who was a Puerto Rican by the name of Harold Torres. John had a beautiful and potent voice and the background chorus was very simple but very harmonic. I was sad when I heard that John passed away some years ago. I do not know about his partners, but wherever they are...thank you for making our lives a lot sweeter and happier with your voices. My goodness, how much I enjoy listening to my old rock music from the 50''s, 60's, 70's and some of the 80's. The rest...we can very well do without them.

If you don't own "Greatest Hits of the Crests", get it. Johnny Maestro made music for us to enjoy for 50 years. A true pioneer in the music world. Very few people mention or know that the Crests were one of the first interracial groups in Rock and Roll. Johnny, an Italian, two African Americans, and an Hispanic. The other ground breakers were Norman Fox and the Rob Roys, and the Del Vikings. It is unclear who was first, not that it matters. God Bless and keep you Johnny.

The original concept is gone and now all you have is favoritism and disrespect for those that came before the current crop of "musicians". Johnny Maestro should have been inducted long before his death of a couple of years ago.

Saw Johnny several years ago.(Great Voice) His voice will always be remembered as a time of teenie boppers, saddle shoes, gum and oh yes, sixteen candles. You are sorely missed Johnny. Thank you for the great memories.

The angels listened in, when they heard me praying
The angels listened in, when they heard me saying
"Please send me some one to love
Send the one I'm thinking of. "
My darling, the angels sent you
The angels listened in, when they heard me crying
The angels listened in, there's no denying
They sent one with lovely charms
One who really thrills my arms,
My darling, the angels sent you.
    I searched everywhere
Just to find someone who cares
    They came down to interrupt
Just as I had given up.
The angels listened in and brought you near me
The angels listened in, I love them dearly.
They gave me the whole wide world
Wrapped up in one little girl,
My darling, the angels sent you.

John was possible the finest voice of the do wop groups NO ONE CAN EVER TAKE THAT from His tenor and the grups he worked with over the years gleaned and glistented due to hs magnficent voice Brooklyn Bridge still stands rip J Maestro

I’ll always remember my grandfather picking me up from school and had me sit in the front, play this song and sing all the way home on repeat, I’d give anything to do that just one more time

Those were some great times. I had my transistor radio next to my pillow and just enjoying those tunes. Such clean and pure lyrics. No need for much tech back then. Just a room with some reverb. I still enjoy listening to doo-wop and the street-corner sounds after all these years. Good music never grows old.

@@joesmoe8983 Joe. I have no idea. But one thing is for sure, It wont be worth going to without Johnny Maestro and The Crests and The Brooklyn Bridge! At least they got it right in the 1st Class with Elvis! Dont think Elvis would get in today with all the B.S.
