  • Hey everyone!
Absolutely love the style of these first songs, it reminds me of a combination of 'The Beatles' and a more unknown artist called 'Splendora'.
(Check out the album 'Splendora - In the Grass' if you like this song!)

Always great guitar work by Hiroki.....Remi's vocals are always a gimme. Glim Spanky is very even keel, not too hard and not too soft. Softer songs are always needed for calm times.

Glim Spanky has a huge & loyal following in Japan but not so much everywhere else. That's a shame !! Remi can sing to me....anytime !! 😏❤️🎙🎸🥁😎🤘

I like my music hard, too, but I do love these guys.
It's mostly just about setting and mood. With songs like this you can just picture yourself next to the sea, on a pleasant day, with the sun slowly setting, drink in hand. And honestly that's quite enjoyable, I'd say.
Fun sidenote about parents: Interestingly enough, a while back the topic of modern music came up with my dad, and it turned pretty interesting, I showed him Glim Spanky's cover of 'Move Over' cause I know he liked Janis Joplin, and he's been a fan ever since. We actually came upon the topic of pop songs being all samey and boring, and he introduced me to The Nice and Colosseum, which are actually super-interesting. Turns out, unless it's metal, we do agree on a lot of music.

I would like to introduce my parents to some Japanese music, maybe even on this channel, but I'm not sure yet if they would be down for that 😅

      @@react-o-mat Well, you never know.
Like I said I had no idea my dad was pretty big into prog rock, ELP, Cream, Pink Floyd and all the rest.
I even managed to get him to acknowledge that Dream Theatre's Dance Of Eternity is really rather good (although it was the Quadratum cover).
If you enjoy your classical and baroque music though, metal's really not *that* far off... minus all the distortion, that is.
I probably wouldn't start with Maximum The Hormone though 🤣

@@guybrushthreepwood1519 Yeah that would definately not be a good start 😂
I know my parents like classic music and things like Eric Clapton, Beatles, ect, but as soon as it gets heavier they call it 'noise' 😪
The idea is that they would have to pay more attention/get involved more when doing a reaction video, but we'll see 😉

@@react-o-mat You do you, not trying to actually persuade anyone.
And he used to call metal, "that weird music you listen to", nowadays it's still 'noise' as well.
I do just find that pretty funny coming from someone who does enjoy Jimi Hendrix. Now that's a man who sure could make some weird (and cool) noises with his guitar... 🎸😮

      @@guybrushthreepwood1519 True 😂
I think they are just not used to music being so energetic, I remember my mother saying she doesn't like the constant base drum (and that was to some 'regular' drum playing, not some crazy double kicks 😉)
Thing is I make them CDs for Christmas and bday, with all kinds of music, but they never talked to me about it, so I'm not even sure if they listened to that 🤔😅)

The second song from the album with an MV and the second one that I already knew and loved, but I knew them both from live performances rather than the MVs. It seems I agree with Glim Spanky about which songs of theirs are the best, which is not the case for all Japanese bands. That's a segue to letting you know that Band-Maid are releasing a live video this afternoon (midnight JST), but they haven't told us which one. Will react-for-views make a return?

      Thanks for letting me know!
Hehe, I guess it depends on the song, but react-for-views has a lot of work atm so I'm not sure if he's gonna make it 😜
