Nice! I am a contractor that has had to rig a lot of things, well designed and used the proper materials! Going to copy this in a smaller set up for my new ATC 3619!
I own Holiday RV Repair in Georgia. It's a great looking job, looks very professional. However, it concerns me about only using VHT tape to hold the panels on. With 70 - 80 MPH windspeeds on the interstate and winds buffering when getting passed by a semi, it will only take one panel coming loose to pull the other panel loose. It could be a fatality if they go through someone's windshield or cause a high-speed wreck. Please don't think I am being a key board warrior as that's not the case. We repaired a roof last year where a company in Arizona installed a set of panels using YHT and then went over that with Sikaflex as additional insurance and they pulled loose after 9 months. I am a new subscriber, great vids :)
Very nice, i've been thinking about a similar design for my RV and was debating between 80/20 and unistrut. seems i'll go with unistrut (for cost). One thing i will do different is i'll stack two layers of solar panels (lower layer will have a sliode out solar panel from right/ left side) another thing is i'll remove the roof AC and mount it to the back with a Mr. Cool Heat pump or so
I've seen this design before, as a safety feature, allow the system to auto-retract when there is excessive wind or motion. This is similar to the way RV awnings work. I have another video with a mini split heat pump installed, that design has been running 365/24/7 for several years without issue, so feel free to copy this design, it's remarkably better than the factory air.
This is nice! We just got our Unistrut and are getting ready to install. What size VHB tape did you use? There are no holes at all in your roof correct? That’s the way we are hoping to attach ours too. Thanks for sharing! Happy travels!
Very impressive. God bless you and yours.

Glad to hear it, this design has held up well over the last year of wind & rain in southern flordia.
If your in the area and need a hand, let me know.
@@lithiumrv1017- let me know how I can get in contact with you. Thanks

another thing look for front wind deflector. @ RV with tito used cheap gutters from home depot to accomplish that (inverted) look at his solar install

Just VHB tape, the only hole is for the mini split, 3M has plenty of great videos on the strength & application of 3M VHB.
