My GameStops are busy going out of business. Just found out one of my locations I've been visiting for 15 years has finally shut down. Leaving only one store left in my area I can drive to, and it's in bad shape too. No games on the shelves, no customers, etc. Idk what happened, the pandemic killed the stores in my area bad. They just stopped getting stuff, and now they're closing down. Really sucks, lot of fond memories at those stores.
Gamestop has outlived its usefulness. Where there used to be sections of reasonably priced used games to comb through, there are now sections of full priced video game merchandise tat. Gamestop thrived when the video game industry thrived, but now there are so few physical releases that are worth playing or worth spending what Gamestop is going to charge for them that there's not enough point to physically traveling to one just to realize yet again that it's not what it used to be.
@@cday131 yep. Right before the pandemic they were going to start having local video game parties and stuff like that. Unfortunately those plans got scrapped because of the virus
@@cday131 I think that's a misconception. There are some instances of crappy broken live service trash coming out, and some high profile bombs, and it makes people write the whole industry off. Good games still come out, people just don't pay them any mind because the algo doesn't like to push stuff that's not controversial into people's feeds and into their minds. Sure there's not a ton in the big market these days to talk about, but there's a lot of small games that come out, and all of this stuff gets physical releases. You can buy most of it on their website. It's just that they decided to stop buying product for their actual stores after the pandemic. They gave up preemptively. It's not like they're sitting on a bunch of product that they can't sell. They don't have it, so people can't buy it and they can't trade it in. They started investing in a bunch of trinkets and novelty items instead. They gave up on games too early and they never did retro correctly, and still don't.
Text check......1......2... I once fairly recently ago bought a Nintendo DS game. First time i forgot to open the box and inspect it before buying. After taking it home, I opened it up and the game inside was NOT the game. It was another game. Now I have a Box for 1 game that has a loose cartrdige of another. Checking online, the loose cartridge game was worth far more in value than the game that I bought. Since I went shopping ariund to half a dozen stores, I honestly couldn't even remember where I bought the game..
Could've been a later release. T he early carts had the lock oval and later carts it the indented tongue. The players choice versions made after 1995 also have that same tongue style cartridge.
@@oOignignoktOo1 I wonder if Nintendo was getting too many complaints that people didn't like being forced to use the eject button So they changed the carts so they can't lock in
I think it's smart to entice gamers to go to gamestop to make sure their stuff is real. Gamestop might think it wise to start selling the tools required to open all the variety of games and systems to, not only make a profit, but help the industry as a whole. I think Gamestop is in a very good position to be the last beacon of hope for physical games. Gamestop could charge say 50 cents/game and $2 to open and inspect the inside of a game and console respectively, for anybody who takes in their stuff just to verify authenticity. They then, can charge say $5-$10/tool.
ps4 for the win. im at 20k in ps4 games right now. Just added Pawarumi, skul, cosmic star heronie, j stars victory vs+, pankapu, gundemoniums, strafe, ruiner, the bunker, 99 vidas, guns, gor, and canonoli, red neck rampage, and steredenn: binary stars. Get caught up guys. These prices are starting to fly. It's crazy.
I love the MIIKKEE check at the beginning of each video. I walk around the house saying it all the time and my kids look at me crazy. 😂
😭😭😭😭 this is me at work for no reason people be looking at me like 👀.
Here in Orlando, the local mom and pop game stores are busy while GameStop is crickets
I got the mmx2 copy with the blockbuster sticker. They closed before i had to return it 😂 how much would that go for.

You really don't understand what happened?
Amazon, digital downloads and an overall shift to games as a subscription services like Game Pass.

One on my n64 snow bored kids was playing Madden 2000 had to return
I don't remember Super Metroid having that kind of cartridge design

@@CyberFoxy87 I think that was exactly why they changed the design of the carts.
Hope they use this to vet the games coming in since some are going to be sold online.
Most of my carts don't have a mark or scratch but the are all mostly new or played once

Man started the video with one of my favorite games
Does the hagane game still play the same or is it a total fake?
my local gamestop shutdown last saturday
Same. Sadly, I think this is the end of the line for buying physical games in a store.
Plus the reproduction cartridges are lighter
So what happened to the Power Rangers the Movie story? Were the screws glued to the cart?
They're not doing this in the bronx my guy
Keep up the good work
Those are some good games nice tip
Bro sell me that ps2
The intro is cringe, but it's your channel. You do you.
NEVER STOP THIS INTRO 😭😭😭😭😭.
Happy Thursday
