[World Record] Sonic Colours Ultimate - Egg Shuttle Speedrun -

I knew I was capable of getting the sub 40, and very pleased to see it finally happen, years after we already knew it was a theoretical target for current strategies, but I wouldn't have believed you if you told me that the first would clear the target by over 30 seconds.
I'll probably sit down and do a more thorough breakdown of this run at some point, but for now, all you need to know is that there is only one LARGE mistake in this entire run, and that is missing the Planet Wisp Boss quick kill, which lost 20 seconds.
The next weirdest mistake was me outright forgetting that I was starting AP4 and not AP5 🤣 Just homing attacked the dang spring by instinct and lost 5 seconds for it. Ah well, it happens deep within sessions I guess. There are also a handful of unnecessary deaths that lost tiny amounts of time but Tails Saves tend to dull most of the impact of those and make them a second or two a piece.

nah, the original version is more polished and the graphics are better if you emulate. There may be a couple speedrun strats that are different between versions but the original isnt a senseless cash grab with obnoxious changes

Honestly the boost doesn’t seem that much slower to unleashes boost when a speed runner uses it its just for the casual play through theres just so many things that want you to stop going fast

Yeah, Colors definitely has more of a Sonic 1 philosophy to speed than Sonic 2 like the other boost games have. Speed is the reward for skillful play, the game isn't gonna hand it to you and ask you to maintain it (at least in the side acts mostly anyway).
