I started on task rabbit. Lots of little jobs to get you rolling and meeting people.

How did you price/schedule yourself to get started on Task? I went with what it recommended and am waiting to hear something.

@platinumhandymansolutions start cheap to get jobs or have a relative or friend hire you and rate you then raise your rates once you're established a bit.

First off great explanation on all the lead gen companies that are out there. 3 more great ones are facebook groups, facebook ads, google ads however their more on the technical side to run. One thing i've noticed is that most handyman start struggling with lead management once they start getting a bunch of referrals. I saw you use markate as your CRM. Personally, i've been using gohighlevel lately. I think a great video would be showing other handyman how to use your CRM to manage their inbound leads so they can stay organized with estimates and upcoming jobs in order to scale.

Hey Daryl. Wow this is a great video! Really well done. Thanks for the information.

As a handyman myself, I have only heard of a couple of these services. Customers probably haven't either.

You would surprise of how many leads you can get on daily basis on the right platform.

Home Advisor has been one of the most dishonest companies in existence. They reuse leads for months, send duplicate leads nonstop, etc. They are a class action lawsuit overdue.

I haven't tried the other lead generation services, but Angi's List is an all around bad experience. For me any way. I'll call the leads and who ever answers (if anyone answers) has no idea who or what Angie's is.

Hey Daryl. Thank you for all your help in starting my Handyman Busines.
I have a question for you. Do you charge an "Emergency Call Out Charge" for people who need help "after hours"?😮
    Thank you in advance.
    Bob.

I do charge extra for emergency jobs. Even if it's not after hours. If they have to have the job done immediately, that's a premium service. I give existing customers grace if they've been with me for a while though.

Hey buddy. Thanks so much. How do you generate leads through your website?

Every account that you have should have some reference to your website. Of course, your Google listing should have a website link. Your Facebook and Instagram account should have a link to your website. Even when I was on home advisor or things of that nature, I would put the name of my website in the description. I’m not sure if they still let you do that but it’s worth a try..

do you have to have your own business to start or be a licensed contractor ? I have experience doing handyman stuff, just want to make some extra cash apart from my main job ( home remodeling).

Thumbtack sucks. They are in the business of sticking you with crap that they don't refund. Angi is even worse. They charge the customer $150 for installing a light. Then you only get $45.00 of that

I've gotten all my work by strategic use of NextDoor.

@@DarylTheFINISHER Basically I posted that I was doing some handyman work, and responded to some people asking for a handyman. I got some work. Then, I asked some of my best customers to write me reviews. One glowing review especially caught fire, and my phone was ringing off the hook for awhile. Then I kept asking more of those customers to review me...and so on.

@@DarylTheFINISHER I'm thinking of getting listed on Yelp soon, not paying for leads but just listed so people can review me there.
