I use a different strategy, called a system disk backup saved on a separate drive (covers both a windows failure and a drive failure). Automate a monthly backup to a separate drive with one of the various backup programs (I use Acronis), and if the windows installation becomes corrupt you just use the backup image to revert to the last good backup. The added advantage is if the drive itself fails, you can use the backup with a new drive and be up and running without having to reinstall anything.
So you just use Acronis to auto back up, without creating a rescue partition, like in this video? I am looking for a good/easy backup software, but Acronis is now by subscription only. They dot greedy.
Have you vetted the cdkey place? I've run into so many selling volume keys it's not even funny. Great video, thanks for the great video, I love this stuff.
Would be useful to expand the rescue partition with a copy of windows either iso or extracted and has the drivers you need for your system, this would be a great idea for unbranded systems that don't come with a recovery partition
07:00 can choose instead of wim the ISO Option with hirensCD.iso...? Needed iso file located in a new partition? 11:25 How make Z:/ letter drive partition invisible? What program you used?
I would think that having the rescue disk ON AN EXTERNAL USB is MUCH better, because whatever trashed the original drive may have harmed the extra partition also. AND, of course making a FULL DRIVE BACkUP with Clonezilla is always a smart idea to offline HDDs or so.
It’s best to create this “recovery partition” on a separate physical disk. Most computers these days, including those tiny palm-sized PCs can take 2 physical harddrives. Brian, can you do a video on how to do what is explained here, but having the recovery utilities installed on a separate internal drive?
My Dell came with a recovery partition. Supposedly updates are also applied to the partition, so if your computer came with a recovery partition I guess you could skip this.
The drawback with this is that if your system drive dies, that recovery partition will die as well. And what happens when the recovery partition needs recovery? It's time to get a flash drive and hope to God you have a backup. Failing that, a DVD. Failing that... the nearest hospital.
Hi and thanks for the another stunning tutorial! Simple question: Why u cannot put the links (win uso, easybcd, ruffus,..) in the description bellow? thanks.
Great idea with Windoze I still find its very fragile and needs lots of handholding especially for non sophisticated users , re the standard "don't power off your pc doing updates" whoops i just turned it off as usual.😅
Have you heard of: Hard Disk Sentinel PRO? Because recently my PC 'died'... would not turn on and I thought it was the power supply but it was my video card that had died. The GPU I guess took a dump. But the program was run on my HD and it was saying I had like 305 days of 'remaining' life? Now the test data they saved to my PC as a screen capture, nice and the test shows my Performance of the drive: Excellent at 100%, but the Health at 54%.. and further down the data it says 'estimated remaining lifetime'.. 306 days.. Years ago I used Norton.. don't anymore because of better programs.. but do you use such a tool in any of the repairs you do?
Hey Britec09... do you know if there is a way to convert a drive that is Dynamic back to Basic without wiping / loosing data on the drive ??? I have a drive that has data on it that is showing up as Dynamic and foreign and can't access it. Would love your view on this problem. Cheer's m8 ;)
always nice to see your videos and gain knowleg sir can u make videos on how to make windows recovery hidden partition which we can access when we need it and also get access to this partition in reset this pc options i see many laptops which came with like dell reovery partition hp and many others and we can get access to this partition while we reset pc or laptop. option like factory reset image shown most of time and when do it laptop become as its came from factory just windows install or with some softwares even its 5 years old sorry for my bad english hope u understand my questions hope u teach us soon May God Bless You Here & Hereafter
Is there any method for stopping that boot menu, say advanced setting in BCD app or BIOS. I have Hasleo WinPE and it loads the boot menu options every time. I changed the menu timer to 5 seconds but it's still annoying when all you need is F8 , BIOS tweaks or bootable USB if the PC does poop itself?
NoiceI will toss my Thumb drives. Is more useful that Ventoy. Will make a classic WinPE, Veeam and Rescuezill backup WinPE, my custom Win11.iso. Thanks m8 ❤
This is Michael. It is a lot easier and smarter to Simply put in another nvme Drive the same size as your primary disk and make a clone. It's even better to make it removable so it doesn't get infected if you do get malware. As for this video, it is too complicated and incomplete. If you're going to teach people things you have to be clear. For example you never explain what Win PE is, neither do you mention where the iso came from or when it was made.
This is a good video and useful. However, it would be better if when booting, to boot as normal and to get to the "Rescue Dick" to do a keypress, like you do to get to the bios.
Can use windows 11 iso from Microsoft Or need windows 11 pe In this video Windows wim folder had 490 MB size How windows folder in recovery partion booted
Windows PE is about as useful as gasoline in a fire. Here’s a bright idea, how about we separate the operating system and the user files and software so that the OS can be reinstalled without wiping out everything? Linux and Mac OS both have this baked in I don’t understand why Microshit is still bound and determined to keep the registry based system alive.
We Might be Able to Dis-assemble ALL Mackintosh Software and Run it On Secure Java. Then We'll have 3 Memory Segments on Two Monitors. The Taskbar on the Primary Screen Determines What is Shown. High Secure: Our Software. Mid Secure: Mackintosh. Low Secure: Windows XP and Linux. The Mac M1 ARM - Applications Can be De-Compiled to C. Then use the Managed C++ Compiler - To Make then Run on the JVM. This Might be Possible.
Let me know in the comments what WinPE version you used.

Tried Hirens and Bobs but neither have a WIM folder
@@thedave5748 I'm having the same problem.
I used the one made by Sergei Strelec. Sure, they start off as Windows to Go USB partitions, but it's pretty easy to change over.

I agree, been doing this with ssd cloning here.
Great video 👍
I always find your content to be useful and helpful
Glad you think so!

Fair point
I have a feeling you would be able to make neurosurgery look like a piece of cake.

11:25 How make Z:/ letter drive partition invisible? What program you used?
Very helpful information Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
or you can use the WinPE on a bootable Pendrive and can use in any pc and after done remove the drive
Yes, you can do that
I would think that having the rescue disk ON AN EXTERNAL USB is MUCH better, because whatever trashed the original drive may have harmed the extra partition also. AND, of course making a FULL DRIVE BACkUP with Clonezilla is always a smart idea to offline HDDs or so.
Why are there never any links in the description to the software etc you always talk about in your videos?
great video thx Brian
Glad you enjoyed it

You can do that, this was a virtual machine

very true but it will not fit into paradigm of making videos lol.

my recovery partition is between c and d drive how to fix it. Always reset fails , I saw many videos including yours to fix reset issue but invain.

I think he expects a previous level of understanding from previous posts he's made.
Totally agree. Its a paradigm of making videos here.
Doesn't windows itself creat a recovery partition?
You need it when you running Microsoft 😂
I don't see where you downloaded any of these files.
I dont have it anymore,i didnt know at the time and i deleted it to extend C disk,a tutorial how to make a new one?
What does it mean if when you do dism from cmd safeboot, it says error the files don't exist? It doesn't let me repair the disk partitions.
Nice...
Thanks
One Drive , Google Drive can be used ?
For what? backup? sure, you have internet access
Cool!
Thanks
