- This video shows the organised event of the Clean Up of the Ping River in Chiang Mai after Loy Krathong, on Friday 1 December 2023. Following several days, over the Loy Krathong Festival period, of releasing Krathong into the Ping River, Padaet Municipality performed their annual clean up of the Padaet Weir catchment area.
In this video I talk about Solastalgia and highlight concerns about people who make Krathongs using plastics, polystyrene and metal.

Great way to show us all what kinds of materials kratongs go into the making of the kratongs and what happens to them, well after they have been so gently and earnestly placed into the water. Great work Ally! You have been a busy man lately. Wow, you really dissected the leftovers from the Loy Krathong celebrations. Unbelievable how much metal there is in one of them rafts. A bit of a nightmare from an ecological point of view!
