Ever since I saw him, I've had the same problem. My assumption is that it is a cost cut because there will also be a model with a conventional handle. Or it was designed like conventional knife and at last call it was changed to push dagger.
Well, the first thing that comes to mind is you would use that for opening a box or cutting cardboard…. OR, at least that’s what you would say if you were questioned about why you’re carrying it. If it’s single edge, and under 3 inches, it’s a good idea. Not as good as the original cold steel urban skinner. But those are long gone. Just a guess.
Not all design features serve a practical purpose, just like all those large knives with dull sawtooth spines. It's just for looks. Maybe it bugged the designer to keep that spot blank and smooth.😂
Those sawtooth spines are for making notches in wood for tent stakes or traps. They are pretty common in survival knives, and even on some bushcraft knives.
This is NOT a fantasy knife, and it does have a purpose. Like all other push daggers before it, it was designed as a concealable self defense knife. Common among gamblers and other such persons in the early 1800's, they were also used during WW1 by some special forces groups like the British SAS and again during WW2. They saw another resurgence in popularity in the 1980's, but that is when they started deviating from the basic dagger design and started taking on more 'tactical' and 'fantasy' design elements.
It’s like AI designed it and didn’t really get why it was borrowing that from other knives.
Best comment 😂
It looks like the blade design is from another knife and they used it here. It also has nail nicks that you would use to open a folder.
That's what I was thinking. It's a blade from another design but they liked the way it looks and used it on the push dagger
Obviously you won't be using that dagger for its intended purpose.
It is for carving notches. Your left thumb rests on the jimping
I feel your pain :) that jimping would irritate me too... pointless. 👍
It looks like they adapted a blade shape from another knife and just didn't think about it or didn't want to retool for it. (Lazy)

Perhaps the blade design is shared with a folding knife?

Come on, Jeff. That’s not ‘jimping,’ those are blood grooves! 😅
I’d buy almost anything else because of that unusable feature and / or eye sore …
A general rule with weapons is to not put anything on it that doesn't serve a distinct purpose.
Kubey could have saved time and money be leaving unusable jimping off the blade of the knife
A push knife designed by a committee lol they heard nutnfacy say it needs jimping and they ran with it 😂
you hold it between youri middle and your ringfinger in normal use, as for the jimping, no clue
I got it right. I guessed this was the issue
What about sheat? Its good?
Guessed right

I feel ta on that now just thinking about it

Some one guessed that in first video !
Poor design. And the edge is too short

just remember I have viewers who think knife videos are cringe they just want to see gold and silver, just sayin lol

Its a fantasy knife anyway, so it serves no purpose.
