I like how simple it is... weighs next to nothing so there's no excuse not to take it along... It is also much more stable in the hand than I would have thought
I recently just bought one of these knives based off your "little knife" review in the blaze orange/black coated blade. Bought it as an expendable, light weight, beater knife to take into the woods for finer work. I have to say I too was very surprised at the quality of this little knife. Lock up is extremely solid, even in your video you can hear how positive the lock up is on the knife. I did some medium/light duty cutting on some hard green wood, and it performed fantastic. Better than expected. Thank you for sharing this video on this knife. I wasn't even aware of this knife until then.
That really made my day. I am so glad that you found out about a knife you really like thru one of my videos. This little knife can be really handy and as you said yourself...very stable...much more than one might think after just looking at it. I put a lower edge angle on mine and gave it to a friend. He is very happy with it
Great vid! My wife has been EDCing her pink one for @ least 3 years. She loves it! I have an OD one w/a black blade that's in my EDC rotation. Great value!
I try to take every knife for what it is...and for what this one is: I really like it.. I really like the fact that they make them in so many color combinations
Danke ;) LG Denis
i have the small pink version and it takes such a sharp edge so easily and is a pretty sturdy little knife. i'll have to try the large one some time. thanks for an excellent review!
Glad you liked the review. I wanted to get the bigger model as well but at the same time I was really curious about this one...so many people said so many good things about it...But yes..Now I am curious about its bigger brother
Hi Denis!
I like it because of the size and weight...and AUS8A is not a bad steel. Ideal for edc jobs...get home, a few passes on a strop and it is back to shaving sharp
Great review as always Denis! Its shape reminds me of the Spyderco Pingo in some ways. Simple knives like that are quite useful and like you said, you may occasionally have a task that you might want to hold off on using you Para 2 on and a $20 knife that "could" break during that task is not such a heart break if it did break. But that one looks like it could probably handle stuff that would break a "lesser" knife (and probably a few much more expensive ones as well).
Thanks. I really do like it for the price and it is more stable than I would have thought! I like a bit of weight on my knives but at the same time i can appreciate an extra knife that does not weigh as much
....nice... well...shucks! :)) Thanks buddy...it is not a first choice for an edc but it does a good enough job...and some people just want a pocket knife....this classifies! :)
Nice review. Great Edc. I have most of the hunters except for the zombie green. I've traveled the with the hunter and is a great light weight blade that's perfect for states that only allow 3"s and under.
I don't have one of those, but do have their large BK-2 camping knife and it is great. The people at KA-BAR do make great knives and I didn't know they made one that small. That knife should last you a lifetime with good care and I would not mind owning one. I want to get their Marine Corps knife which have a hefty blade on it and will easily last me a lifetime.
@@SpartanJohns After figuring out how to get my knife out of the sheath it works like a champ and I want it for camping all the time now. I have Buck, Gerber, and other brand knives and love them also.
This was a long time ago. I don’t remember having any complaints about the edge it came with. In the last years i have changed my opinions about “the steel you need” when it comes to knives. So to not drag out my answer: i think AUS8 is a good steel. It depends more on how you sharpen your knives(edge thickness/edge angle) and how as well as for what you are using them. If you don’t lime how it holds an edge after a few months of use, try lowering the edge angle and maybe thinning out the grind and, of course, look at what and how you are cutting with the tool. I think this is a good edc knife. I sincerely hope you will like yours
I usually also use the knife I have in hand...but I like to know I have a "back-up" or a knife that I can put thru things I would not put my more expensive folders thru.
Nice I like it. Reminds me of my Schrade CH7 no longer made, really my style and weight, I put on my knife play list. They almost look like clones, my blade is serrated though been looking for one like this, I would take clip off.
The blade is definitely good for the price, its AUS8 which has around 0.75% carbon content hence would be harder that 420 HC. The downside is the knife appears flimsy due to no stainless liners and not sure how zytel handle will hold out to lateral stresses. Also Kabar site mentions the blade thickness as 0.15 inches but actually its 0. 3 cm.At best a budget EDC knife...
Hey bro what do you recommend for a good knife kit to sharpen and keep the syderco tuff last for a long time I ment to text you but accidentally text someone you marked as liked.
how long a knife stays sharp is depending of what you cut with it. I tested my Griptilian for 3-3,5 weeks and all i used to keep it sharp was my DC4 stone from Fallkniven... Every night, after I worked with it I swiped the edge on the ceramic side a few times..kept my knife shaving sharp for the whole time... It does not have to be the DC4...just find a fine(super fine) ceramic stone that is straight... If you also strop the blade from time to time on a leather strop filled with compound then you shouldn't have any problems. i hope this helps
I had the BM Mini Grip in hand and crrently own a BM Mini Bone Collector. I try to stay in the "middle size" class of knife and for more expensive brands I really harldy purchase smaller blades... I want a 3.5 4 inch blade. Otherwise I would just probably carry it as a back-up.
The KaBar Dozier designed folding hunter is inexpensive NOT cheap. Cheap implies poor quality. Inexpensive means affordable quality. I have one of these knives. See my video on My Sharpest/Favorite Folder. May cost under $50 but I have paid more for a folder and not gotten as good a knife as this one.
I do not differentiate between cheap and inexpensive but I guess you are probably right. Cheap knives are the "no name" ones and good, solids brands that have a less expensive but still performing model are the inexpensive ones.
One of the best budget EDC knives around. I've got a few of them and have no complaints.
I like how simple it is... weighs next to nothing so there's no excuse not to take it along... It is also much more stable in the hand than I would have thought
I've had that knife for nearly a year now...love it. It's a solid performer for it's price.
I really like it for what it is...very simple and does a good job

I have had good experiences so far with Ka-Bar. Broke my Large Heavy Bowie, and they replaced it without much complications.

Good review. I use the heck out of mine. I found it to be a great small game skinner as well.
Did the factory edge come sharp? How do you feel about the AUS 8 steel in this knife? Thanks for the review. I am waiting for mine to arrive.

I have the zombie green version of this knife and love it. My main carry is the benchmade griptillian 551 with D2 but I'm not afraid to use it either.

I did take the clip and pin off...it became a small, thin knife that you can put anywhere and does not bother you

is it only good for $2o or is it really good
define "really good"
I see it on Amazon for about $20 US. Not bad! Do you know where it is made?
