We have seen Neo use her semblance to communicate by turning into people so they understand who she is “talking” about. It’s also a safe bet she has to focus on the form she wants to take. My guess is her shifts to Ruby and cinder were akin to her shouting their names in frustration/anger. And we have seen strong emotion as the catalyst for semblance evolution which would explain the expansion of her “mirror images”/clones.
Is neo with her new ability going to have a gang of her own clones that resemble different people that we see shadowed in the opening or am I thinking way to much and just crazy
@@kellyxiaomedia In a way, it makes me think that after everything that’s happened to her, we might just see her sanity break/fracture like a prism. If the farm from season 5 (was a while ago, don’t remember exact season) really was the home of Roman and Neo, maybe all the shadowed people are the family that lived there - including Roman.
Neo did make copies before in her first real appearance and then later in her fight with Yang. She just relied more on disguises. But now she's on her own after being betrayed, so she's pushing her semblance to evolve.
I love so many little details this episode, Like the guards being beheaded is worrying but then you remember these are toy people, and based on Curious's words they can and will be put back together later. Then there's Blake running out of bullets faster than expected cos Weiss used most of them against Cinder. How you can actually see the Red Prince slowly putting together exactly what he's dealing with here and how based on everyone's reactions & the Jabberwalkers that humans are sort of like eldrich horrors/alien invaders in this realm. Then as always there's Little's wonderful mimicry of Ruby's body language which really interests me and the fact they have no idea what a cat actually looks like. Then there's Curious's line about birds and how we see later when it tries to eat a butterfly it just traps it for a bit and then lets it go, cos it seemingly can't eat. Also yes, the Red Prince listened to Curious, they almost seem to hold a position of mentor or respected advisor, holding enough sway to change the princess mind but not if he changes it back and the prince was clearly shocked when Curious didn't stay to comfort him. Also Curious's behavior is exactly what I'd expect from an old sapient cat; also their powers have very similar vibes to Ruby's own, the silver light, dematerializing, super speed ETC. Weiss giving Little pats while complaining was hilarious and adorable. Also it remains fascinating on a thematic level how over levelled RWBY are for this story, like this is a fairytale for children, it makes sense Alyx was terrified of all these things and needed to lie, cheat and steal her way through the book. But these are four grown huntresses with super powers, a children's board game, a children's fairy tale is not equipped to hold them in the least. Oh also Alice was made big again in the books by eating cake, possibly hence favorite desert?
Me after watching the chess game: "Here's how Bees Schnees can still win" The level of detail in this volume is phenomenal. All the callbacks, the expressions, the backgrounds... This was a real labour of love and it shows.
I also love that Ceni became the ultimate 'waiting for a bus' meme by wondering when Neo would turn up only to be immediately presented with about ten of her.
I just realized something watching your reactions, we've technically seen Neo do the duplicate thing as early as V2 C4 while escaping with Roman. Albeit on a much smaller scale. This is definitely a cool sign of growth.
So with Neo falling LONG after Ruby and the others fell despite having been in the same space as Ruby makes me wonder if there are time shenanigans involved in everyone falling to the Ever After. In which case what if everyone's theories that the Rusted Knight was someone else in Alyx's story and Jaune now are wrong and Jaune just, instead arrived in Ever After much MUCH earlier than everyone else?
to me this occurred at the same time RWBY was working through their reunion at the start of chapter 2, since Jabber retreated from them and ran off in chapter 1, and seemingly ran straight here. That would have taken less time than the RWBY stroll across the acre to the bridge to game town.
@@HappyPotat Jabber was running very fast, covering a LOT of ground. Poor guy probably met the Neo monster before Ruby regained consciousness after passing out from Weiss' recap of Penny's sacrifice.
@@jeffreysmith236 There's no way of knowing so I'm going to assume there's a specific reason it was shown at the end of this episode and not the previous one time wise. Otherwise it'd be a flaw in poor cinematic timing. And given how good the cinematic and camera quality has been in this volume so far, I highly doubt it.
While that's likely true, it still would mean Neo landed significantly after Ruby, which would be very odd when they fell together. Ruby spent quite a while wandering around before they ran into the Jabberwocker.
-Chapter 3: Rude, Red, and Royal -RWBY quote of the chapter _“Great. So we’re not in the stupid story after all. We’re in the stupid sequel.” (Weiss Schnee)_ -The Red Prince First Cordovin (Volume 6) and now this brat. I guess the behavior shouldn’t be a surprise. A royal child on his birthday party, naturally entitled. But…throwing away perhaps the only thing that Penny had as a human as though it was trash… He has immediately get relegated to the punch-in-the-face-on-sight list (It’s a short list, but I know Cinder is in there). And it doesn’t help that he is also a cheater, playing a game where the odds are overwhelming in his favor by using battered pawns over heavily armed soldiers (although to be fair, Ruby did challenge him). And unfortunately, he has powers, which makes him dangerous (well, that and executed his own soldiers), much to the dismay of Weiss, Blake and Yang. -Chess Battle Whether it can be considered a blessing or a curse, the rest of the team fought spectacularly against the Red Prince’s army. So much so that it encouraged the white pieces to actually fight back when prior, they simply surrendered (at the Prince’s behest, no less). But could this be what Blake had feared from the beginning, that their actions may cause another war. Granted, this was a (fixed) game, but in this world, it might be considered one and the same. Then there is the issue of their identities. Although Ruby tried to hide it, her revelation to the Prince upset him greatly (an understatement). Clearly, Aless’ arrival had a greater impact on this world than they thought; which is obviously considering that a war erupted here by her presence. Which begs the question; what happened to the Red King? Was he slain in the aforementioned war? Which brings up another question of who brought that tale to Remnant in the first place? If it was Aless (and it is likely be so), then the intro of the show of her walking in front with the team may be more figuratively, since they are walking her path and story. (Qrow Branwen) _“Even the crazy ones came from somewhere.”_ On a lighter (and more awesome) note, what do we call that triple attack that Weiss, Blake and Yang used?! I don’t think there is a name for this (likely because it never happened before) and I have been wracking my brain on what to call it. What can you call a combination of Ice, Fire and Shadow that isn’t going to sound too convoluted? Maybe I’ll figure it later… But with them now miniature, Ruby may feel more of a pressure to protect her team, as they are now technically vulnerable. Even as the team leader, she always had her team around to fight with her and vice-versa. Now they will be totally relying on Ruby and should any danger arises, Ruby may have to fight on her own to protect them, without Crescent Rose no less. -Curious Cat Apparently, they have an ally in the form of the Curious Cat. And although he helped them escape, it pretty much behaved much like a talking cat would; enigmatic. In fact, it reminds me of the Cat in _The Last Unicorn,_ when Molly wanted to know how to find the lair of the Red Bull, the Cat merely gave her unusual answers, which frustrated Molly. - (Molly) _“Why won’t you help me? Why must you always speak to me in riddles?”_ (Cat) _“Because I be what I be. I would tell you what you want to know, mum. But I be a cat. And no cat anywhere, ever gave anyone a straight answer.”_ - But the Curious Cat did mention about others? What others was he talking about? Aside from Aless and Jaune (assuming he had arrived at this point), who else was he talking about? How many other people fell into this world? It may be the others who fell during Cinder’s assault, perhaps? -Neo’s Descent Once again, the thought of warped time comes into play, as Neo and Ruby were last seen together and then Neo arrives sometime after Ruby came and reunited with her team. But even more so, Neo seemed to have picked this time for her Semblence to evolve. At first, you would this of them as clones, like Blake’s and Sun’s. But these seem to be more solid, even matching the appearance of Neo exactly. It may likely be similar to the difference between the _Clone Jutsu_ and the _Shadow Clone Jutsu_ of _Naruto,_ with the latter being more stable and are capable of actual attacks. In either case, this bodes badly for the team…
A (possibly moot) technicality: Everyone (excluding RWBY, of course, and possibly Little since they're from a different acre) in the Red Kingdom already knows about the Red Prince's purpose, which is to win at any cost. So any hopes of anyone except RWBY expecting him not to cheat would be deluding themselves.
For a split second they really had me thinking ever after was full of allusions of rwby characters because of how much the red prince reminds me of a more intense pre-de-grinchified Whiteley
16:25 to 16:43 Does anyone else absolutly LOVE this part?😍 It and the rest of the wonky stairway scene perfectly expresses what this world (and arc) is; weird, cartoony, and pure madness! Just as it should be!👍
Man thsi season has been SLAPPING, tbh was alittle unsure how I felt after the first episode but every episode since had been SO GOOD, I’m LOVING the side characters here and the voice acting has been TOP NOTCH especially the fairytale characters. Only complaint so far is my same complaint for the first half of season five, I NEED MORE NORA AND REN 😩
How can the biggest damage this episode be one firey gal's smirk?
Yang: breathes
Blake: ☺️😍 (& also Ceni tbh)
I can already see Neo attacking Ruby with an army of Jaunes, Noras, and Rens. Maybe even Pyrrhas and Pennys
The blue butterfly is the same one I think we saw when Maria was teaching Ruby about her silver eyes in Argus. It lands on the fruit plate..
