He’s also in a Korea thriller film I Saw The Devil(2010). If you haven’t seen it I can’t recommend it highly enough. It was maybe the first foreign language film I really decided to watch and was HOOKED in.

Not him 1. Outright lying that girl was "at the door" when crypto arrived 2. Acting like HE would've jumped down on a dude bigger and stronger than him with a weapon. I love him but he was TRIPPING this video lol.
The Dude who played Thanos is actually a Former Rapper from a K-Pop Group called "BIGBANG" . Dude's really fluent in English and all of his English words were actually not from the script but rather his improvisation. Btw, his character with Drug related problem is actually also based on his real life drug problem ...
He doesn't have a "real life drug problem." S. Korea has draconian drug laws. If you do use ANY drug, ANYWHERE in the world as a Korean citizen, the Govt can prosecute you. He popped on a drug test during his mandatory national service and then tried to cancel his subscription to life using his anti-anxiety meds because there was this huge stigma and a lot of shame because "face" is important in East Asian cultures. What did he pop for? What ruined his career? Was it Crank? Smack? Deathsticks?! Satan's Cilantro. Yep, Weed. Because it stays in your system for like 4-6 months. He was smoking with some woman in October before he reported for training. She was also arrested and charged with using Beelzebub's Bud. And even when he pled guilty, finished his service, he was still seen as a pariah. In fact, his casting was seen as "controversial" because he of his "criminal record"
He said in an interview that he deliberately used bad English pronunciation. Also, it wasn't really huge drug related problems, it was just weed. 😂 He was shunned by whole Korea, they destroyed his career to the point he tried to unalive himself. He deserves a big apology from the whole country.
He's not an addict He smoked Satan's Cilantro and popped in a drugtest during his mandatory national service. Korea just has draconian laws when it comes to drugs
Glad you did Subs imho you get a better experience with the actors actually doing it with their emotion and emotes. There is a lot of deeper meaning if you know Korean culture, like the girl who dies, calls the trans woman Unni which is like "older sister" she accepted her as a woman and showed her respect which is why it hits harder when she died in front of her.
Yea that girl held out her hand to get him to join her, not to play rock, paper, scissors. He betrayed her because he ended up panicking which is why she was mad when they walked out the room.
During the minigame the frontman purposely threw with his right hand even though he's left handed to try and sabotage the game, knowing the guards would never kill him. When time was almost up he did it with his left hand and succeeded
Fun fact: -Thanos is the rapper "T.O.P" formerly from the group BIGBANG and has solo work -pregnant girl is YURI who used to be in the group IZONE and is now a soloist -333 was a kpop idol from the group ZE;A -and 007 is a rapper -The frontman has been in multiple Hollywood movies like. G.I. Joe:rise of the cobra (played storm shadow), Red 2, terminator genisys, the magnificent seven ECT.
Lol well since the soldiers aren’t shooting at point blank range, it’s hard to shoot with precision in a closed box with the mask on. Since the players can’t see her face it’s safe for number 11 to do that. 😊
Yeah, Thanos (Choi Seung-hyun/T.O.P) would go in & out of English bc it’s smth that Korean rappers/K-Pop stars do in their songs; they thought it’d make the character more realistic and imo I think I did lol.
To address a couple of issues here. Gi-Hun sacrificed the people in the special game to gain advantage over the guards and take the guns, there was a purpose that's why even the front man asked him "oh so you are willing to make a small sacrifice for the greater good huh" like he thinks he's doing with the games. Stopping the dude from killing the circles was right there was no objective there. And everyone gets confused about the square reacting to the front man face, that's because squares are management they're the only ones that know the face behind the black mask, circles are just grunts the lowest in the hierarchy just drones and the triangles are muscle, trained soldiers or mercenaries they don't need to know who is paying them.
There was no need to sacrifice the X's by not telling them what was going to happen. The X's still should've been warned so they were prepared to defend themselves.
Lol during that rock paper scissors game, the girl wasn't playing, she was just holding her hand out for that weakling, he chose scissors to play along with the clowns smh; she deserved better and I hate that she kept trying to help him...he let her down for the last time and it got her eliminated

no , in season 1 players could vote after every round if they wanted but the money would go to the deads families . This season the money is split among all the players left , thats the difference.
46:51 I think the actor of her said that she didnt want him to suffer, because they let injured people go back to the rooms. And because of that wound he would’ve suffered a painful injury, so she took him out of his misery Edit: OKAY so she said that the guard knows that the others were doing stuff to the injured people, so she sends them off in peace.
the girl at the doctor's office is not the same as the girl living on her car. also, the grave where the police officer went is not that of his brother but of his brother's wife
I just realised, sth. Many other people would've voted to terminate the games if Gi-hun told them he can use his money to pay off their debts. But I think the guards mightve stopped him.
You probably didn't notice that the frontman got shot on his right shoulder from the 1st season and wondered why he keeps messing up on that spinning thing with his team
@@purplequeen833 yes he was messing with them while throwing it with his right hand when he's actually left handed (we can see it in some episodes) and then he succeed with the spinning thing using his left hand
There are plenty of YT videos on it, but incase nobody knows I think this is a great little point some have noticed. The Frontman struggles so much with spinning too because if you pay attention in season 1 he is predominantly left handed. When he fails miserably in the game he is using his right hand, when he nails it he decides to use his left hand
Funny You confused the pregnant girl Jun-hee with the bunny worker No-eul at the beginning, thinking a girl got the card twice 😅😅😅 But I don’t blame you, these two girls not only looked similar but also showed too similar styling and acting (rough banged hair, no makeup and dark, blank facial expression) 😊

This is show is great. Can't wait for next season. If you love this show you'll love Alice in Borderland. First episode is slow then gets crazier and crazier as it goes. Constantly on the edge of your seat. I tell everyone they need to watch it.
Fun Fact: Thanos (purple hair guy) is a former rapper of a legendary K-Pop group named BIGBANG (he's actually a amazing rapper!). His portrayal as the drug-addicted character has parallels to real life and the injustice he experienced from Korea. He had a weed 'scandal' and Korea is very strict and evil when it comes to drugs (yes even 'just' weed). He was harassed by the media and his career and his whole person was destroyed. So much that he had severe mental problems and tried to overdose. But even after that he was even criticized for trying to unalive himself and the reporters even followed him to the hospital. It's really bad what happened to him. I've been a fan of him and his old group for over 15 years and it's really great to see how he's kind of been the 'star' of the Season and how much love he gets from international fans.
Yes!! Hyun-ju is just amazing!! I love her! She's a badass! Such a great trans character. Definitely my favorite! I also loved Thanos (I know you weren't supposed to but) he made me laugh constantly!! When he did that skip through the middle of the room to the voting machine!! 😂 he's hilarious!!
While I agree that subbed is better than dubbed, I hate that people get mad at people who watch the dubbed version. Why not get mad at the people who didn't do the dub justice? There are plenty of reasons a person might want or need to watch dubbed. The visually impaired? People with dyslexia? People who are incredibly busy and need to multitask? Should these people just not watch the show at all? I personally try to watch the dubbed when bearable to support it so companies will put more money towards a better dub.
I've seen people get mad people watch it in the Subbed version too... people do it both ways... I just say it's people's right to watch it in whichever way they prefer... personally I think the dubbed is absolutely atrocious and can't do it the mouths don't match the movements of what they're saying and it's distracting cause that's all I pay attention to...
Thanos (purple hair guy) is supposed to be cringey, the actor is Choi Seung-Hyun who’s actually a rapper in real life, he is actually playing himself, he barely got a script and did not get paid for this and I don’t mean the corny kind of rapper you seen in this show, I mean he’s like the Eminem of Korean rap. His name is T.O.P He’s a legend. He was the first underground rapper to make it as a kpop artist/rapper. He’s THAT guy like he’s him. If you decide to do music reacts I suggest listening to his song Doom Dada and then go watch it live. Changes your life a little. He was also in the group BigBang which became the biggest artist not just in Korea but around the globe. His best friend is GDragon. Trust me he’s fire too. Just released a song called Power and bruhhhhh the swag these two have individually when put together it’s insane. The group broke up due to scandals but TOP aka Thanos was the one who received majority of the backlash and hate and has been or was blackballed in Korea entertainment because his scandal involved him smoking weed with a chick who snitched on him, whilst serving in the military. He’s got caught got 10 months of prison and 2 years probation tried to kill himself for it and for 7 years after that he never left his house nor communicated with anyone. He just made music the whole time. Thanos is TOPs comeback to the entertainment industry but global instead of just Korea. I loved his character.
The rule among the Squid Game staff is that no face is to be revealed within the organization unless behind closed doors. The only reason the young guard recognized the Front Man before being shot was that the Front Man wore Number 001, a number explicitly marked by the higher-ups or the Officer in Black as untouchable. This safeguard was the same protection granted to the old man, Oh Il-nam, in season one. Regardless of attire, the number acted as a shield, ensuring their safety. In season one, the guards’ masks were fully opaque, concealing their faces completely. While this season’s masks may appear to have larger openings for facial recognition, this is not accurate. The organization’s strict “no face reveal” rule remains intact. Instead, a scanner is used to identify guards solely by their face masks. This is why the young guard needed to wear his mask for identification by the scanner. In this second season, I don’t feel the same connection to the new characters as I did with those in season one. The writers seem to have introduced characters primarily to serve as plot devices, and they lack the authenticity and depth that made the first season so impactful. That said, I am developing a growing appreciation for Player 120 and the mother-and-son duo. Based on my expectations, Player 246 (the father of the sick girl) and Player 222 (the pregnant woman) will likely make it through, as this season and the next season seems to center on the theme of hope.
At 1:49:40 I think the Front Man is disappointed in Gi-Huen*. Until now he has stuck to his guns, pun not intended, of trying to save everyone. This is the first time he's faltered on the on that mission statement. I think the Front Man sorta of admired Gi-Huen for being something he hasn't seen yet, then we he compromised, the Front Man was like, "Huh, I guess your not so different after all."
48:33 Because they have different numerals system. The number goes up to next scale every thousand in English (and many other countries), so 'thousand million' is not a thing, but in East Asia it goes up every ten-thousand, so it's 456 억/億 in Asian numeral. 1 억/億 won each for every person.
Set this man up each step of the way even in that one game where he was messing up spinning top it was pointed out he purposely used his less dominant hand then when he actually wanted to do it he switches hands and aces it first try. Then the game with the doors I think he purposely went to help the main characters friend just for that moment at the end when the main character feels like they have that chance he can come in and kill his best friend in his face in that moment killing whatever last spirit he had left. Kept him alive for nothing more than that. Then he pulls out the hero quote from the matrix reference in the beginning of the season. “Did you have fun playing the hero” taking the red pill like Neo. That’s a movie this is reality
I am slowly waiting for Mello to watch Alice in Borderland. I love to see the comparisons from Squid Game and Alice in Borderland. Both are very good shows.

He’s also in a Korea thriller film I Saw The Devil(2010). If you haven’t seen it I can’t recommend it highly enough. It was maybe the first foreign language film I really decided to watch and was HOOKED in.
@JeffKelly03
He so does...
“The song from stepbrothers” 😭so disrespectful. Sir, the song is a classic😂
39:23 he was his friend from the very first episode when Gi-Hun stole his moms credit card and goes to gambling
Yup
Gong Yoo (recruiter's actor) was only there for one episode but wow... he went all out
also not Mello thinking 011 (guard) and Junhee being the same person
Not him 1. Outright lying that girl was "at the door" when crypto arrived 2. Acting like HE would've jumped down on a dude bigger and stronger than him with a weapon. I love him but he was TRIPPING this video lol.
Technically 2 since he had to act as his dead body in the second episode
Finally someone who loved this season as much as I did!!!!
He's not an addict
He smoked Satan's Cilantro and popped in a drugtest during his mandatory national service.
Korea just has draconian laws when it comes to drugs
@@ASCALAPHOS_facts making him seem like he was a hard hitter…. He just wanted to float on the clouds of Mary
34:35 “She’s bout to die” Literally the first one to go😭
damn
Yea that girl held out her hand to get him to join her, not to play rock, paper, scissors. He betrayed her because he ended up panicking which is why she was mad when they walked out the room.
During the minigame the frontman purposely threw with his right hand even though he's left handed to try and sabotage the game, knowing the guards would never kill him. When time was almost up he did it with his left hand and succeeded
Hyun-ju (120) and Dae-ho (388) were my favorite new characters and standouts for me!
Same! I hope they live
Fun fact:
-Thanos is the rapper "T.O.P" formerly from the group BIGBANG and has solo work
-pregnant girl is YURI who used to be in the group IZONE and is now a soloist
-333 was a kpop idol from the group ZE;A
-and 007 is a rapper
-The frontman has been in multiple Hollywood movies like.
Man that episode started and I was about to rewind the whole thing like wait didnt he just say subs!?!?! was I making that up HAHAHAHA
Mel, you were one second away from getting clicked off with that english dub, thank god you watched it sub
Yeah, Thanos (Choi Seung-hyun/T.O.P) would go in & out of English bc it’s smth that Korean rappers/K-Pop stars do in their songs; they thought it’d make the character more realistic and imo I think I did lol.
LOL you shouting " a witch! " cut with the monty python group is pure editing gold lol.
Especially the timing how he starts it and the other guy looks at him first.
love the energy, best reaction i've seen on the channel!
LOLed at the "Not the teletubby" comment hahahaha
Your reaction with Thanos and Gyeongsu scene during mingle game 😂 I have the same reaction. Like, you kicked him dude hahahaha you high as f***
I was about to switch when the english appeared 🤣
Lol during that rock paper scissors game, the girl wasn't playing, she was just holding her hand out for that weakling, he chose scissors to play along with the clowns smh; she deserved better and I hate that she kept trying to help him...he let her down for the last time and it got her eliminated
2 hr mellverse binge! What’s good!
FR
Great video!! I am so excited for the next season!
And I wanted to add that I really appreciate the flash warning! I myself am not that sensitive when it comes to flashes, but I love it that you make the watching experience more accessible for everyone :)
no cap they way I’ve been waiting for the intro, say it w you every time 😂😂
It's so much better subbed over dubbed!
It makes you appreciate Thanos a bit more 😂
Absolutely agree... someone said dubbed is superior but I wholeheartedly disagree
@maggiemccauslin1084 I watched s1 dubbed and s2 subbed, and enjoyed subbed a million times more
@x0x0mariax0x0
The dubbed version doesn't even match what they are saying the mouths move at the wrong time and that's so distracting to me
I was boutta be so mad cause u watch it in dub lmaooo😭😭
Season 2 was better than S1 imo. It is less emotional but it has more storyline and character development, also the characters are very interesting and unique...
Great reaction ❤💙
You made me laugh a lot and I love how hyped you get and how invested you are in the mom character 😊 Great season. Excited for the finale.
Thank you lord i needed something to watch while i eat
IM SO HAPPY FOR THE INTROOO
MELLLLLOOOOWWWWWW
Your reaction when Yong-Sik got pulled away from his mom was the same as me and my sister’s. She said if she dies I’m done.
mello!!! i never knew how much i actually missed that intro hahah.. glad you finally reacted to this!
This reaction video was amazing, ive had a few rough days this week and seeing this come up in my notifications made my day so thank you so much mellow!
Ohhhhh I AM SO HERE FOR THIS!! 🍿 Personally, the final game stressed me out the most, the one before they started the takeover. That shit gave me anxiety through the screen
Everytime Mel put himself in the show :D
2:30
34:25
54:09
1:04:34 I just love that scene so much xD
1:26:04
1:38:19
1:47:58
Don't mind me, this is just for next time I'm gonna watch it :D
Thank you ❤
Enjoyed this season a lot! Mell you would love Alice In Borderland, Japanese show like Squid Game on Netflix! There's been two seasons already and a third one is planned! That's an absolute must-watch for the channel you will love it! Keep up the great content man 👍🤘🤘🤣😎🔥💯
no , in season 1 players could vote after every round if they wanted but the money would go to the deads families . This season the money is split among all the players left , thats the difference.
46:51 I think the actor of her said that she didnt want him to suffer, because they let injured people go back to the rooms. And because of that wound he would’ve suffered a painful injury, so she took him out of his misery
Edit: OKAY so she said that the guard knows that the others were doing stuff to the injured people, so she sends them off in peace.
the girl at the doctor's office is not the same as the girl living on her car. also, the grave where the police officer went is not that of his brother but of his brother's wife
I just realised, sth. Many other people would've voted to terminate the games if Gi-hun told them he can use his money to pay off their debts.
But I think the guards mightve stopped him.
33:00 best reaction to that reveal 🤣🤣
This season was better than the first!
I agree with you!
Agreed
100%
Ehhh
Agreed! The first season was fantastic as well but this season was my favorite
Guys...
I think he's played these games before
I SAID HE PLAYED THESE GAMES BEFORE!
I think so too
You probably didn't notice that the frontman got shot on his right shoulder from the 1st season and wondered why he keeps messing up on that spinning thing with his team
Dang I didn’t even think of that. Thought he was just messing with them lol
I think he was genuinely messing with them though because he smiled when he bent down..
@@purplequeen833 yes he was messing with them while throwing it with his right hand when he's actually left handed (we can see it in some episodes) and then he succeed with the spinning thing using his left hand
@@batool2000rox I just said so…😅
Good thing i read the comments first cuz i was bout to click off so fast 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You are talking about the dubbed version aren't you? Lol
@maggiemccauslin1084 Yessss 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Grow up lmao
@krypticc8549
We need to grow up for stating our opinion? If you like the dubbed version that's your opinion but it's awful
Thx for making this video i dont have netflix so this helps
Edit btw i love the frontman hes funny
I love ur reactions! Keep it up!
That intro was amazing, got me good ahah
It’s about time you brought the intro back!!!
I’ve been so excited for this video, I am a broke bitch so I can’t do patreon right now so I have been super excited to see your reaction. Also thanks for blessing us with 2 hours 😂❤
Wait your telling me I spend 2 freaking hours on Netflix without me knowing
you had me ctfu throughout this reaction 🤣🤣🤣
my favorite characters from S2 are Thanos and Hyun-ju (player 120). I was kinda sad we lost Thanos before the finale but I'm so excited to see what they do with our queen Hyun-ju in S3 🤩
Loved the "Is it safe?" reference during the tooth extraction scene.
YESSS IVE NEVER BEEN SO EXCITED TO GET OFF WORK!
1:02:42 I love that Jeremy Renner is already like 5’9” lmao, not short but the other guy must be crazy
Being such a huge fan of Mellow and other incredibly funny & talented black creators inspired me to make my own channel. Big ups to you man ☺️ I hope to get better and better
1:50:50 bro does NOT wanna pay his employees
yo melo looking like he in good shape🤩
This is show is great. Can't wait for next season.
If you love this show you'll love Alice in Borderland. First episode is slow then gets crazier and crazier as it goes. Constantly on the edge of your seat. I tell everyone they need to watch it.
I been waiting for you to watch this🎉🎉
The guy with the curly hair is ydg he did a song with a rapper named panmeco or something like that. The song is called BOLO and it’s fire
I remember the song going viral on tiktok a few years ago, and seeing it go viral again thanks to this show 🤣
@ facts
💀
bro your intro made my day bro im a big fan❤🤞🏾🔥🔥🔥
IVE WATCHED THIS SEASON BEFORE!!!!!!!
The editing is hilarious I love it😂
15:58 “where the hell were your parents?!” Well.. about that..
24:50 it's her mother that's alive and paralyzed in prison - saebyeok beeeen dead
My favortie characters this season were Hyun-ju and Mama. I also enjoyed Jung-bae and Dae-ho's dynamic.
Gi-hun*
The 2 Russian roulette scenes were so well acted. My favourite scenes in season 2.
48:33 Because they have different numerals system. The number goes up to next scale every thousand in English (and many other countries), so 'thousand million' is not a thing,
but in East Asia it goes up every ten-thousand, so it's 456 억/億 in Asian numeral.
It's worth noting that 10 won coin is about a penny in American currency.
The Recruiter asked for his penny back because he's that petty.
the rebellion that gi hun leads actually not that stupid cause everyone gonna die at the end anyways only one survives
I am slowly waiting for Mello to watch Alice in Borderland. I love to see the comparisons from Squid Game and Alice in Borderland. Both are very good shows.
mello should react to the 2014 annie
yess thatd be epic
yess jamie foxx was great in it
