  • Over the course of my life, I have played a lot of video games, and with that I've played as a lot of characters.
I've been down under with a Tasmanian Tiger, crashed an evil Doctor's plans and saved the dragon species from going extinct.
I've saved the world, sucked up every collectible and seen my favourite playable characters dance their victory dance or show the peace sign more time than I can count. It's a feeling that never get old... But here's a question for you: Have you ever had an instances where you just wanted to play as a lovable pupper that solves mysteries with a group of teens who still haven't aged for over 60 years?
No? Oh Ok... So just me I guess...
Not sure how many of you think of Scooby Doo when it comes to 2000's platformers, but those meddling kids and that lovable dog have had some good chances on our game consoles, from far back as 1983 with 'Scooby Doo's Maze Chase', all the way up to the PS2/Gamecube classics like Night Of 100 Frights and Unmasked.
Sure, they aren't perfect games by any means, but the charm of the IP as well as the fact that the voice actors continue to reprise their roles is always so comfortable and recognisable whenever I'm feeling nostalgic for Scooby Doo.
However, a few years before Scooby would full-on platformer protagonist, he and the gang were part of a series of educational PC games, and around that time, he received his first 3D outing with Classic Creep Capers on the N64.
And not wanting people to feel left out, Digital Eclipse were kind enough to throw the GBC players a bone (or wouldn't that be a scooby snack?...)
And no, this wasn't just another platformer, for the first (and sadly only time...), Scooby got a point and click styled video game on the go, and me being a big fan of Scooby... Reah! I'll sink my teeth into that one!
Look out gang! We've got another mystery on our hands... quite literally because it was released on the GameBoy Colour. How fitting!
(Also if anyone is reading this, please tell me someone understood the joke in my title. I tried to think of a witty title for about 10 minutes and that's all I could come up with)
