After years of climbing and traditional tree work, THIS is the future, right down the grapple wheel loader and Pfanner helmets and Sena coms. Whoever is making the capital equipment purchasing decisions deserves some serious credit for having the balls to and foresight to invest big in this outfit. Nice to see the team in proper gear and operating as professionals. Kudos to you!
This is definitely the future of tree work. We too came from traditional methods and after going to the TCI expo in 2018 it really opened our eyes to the potential of investing in this kind of equipment. Thanks for noticing and stay safe out there!
We just got the pros with Sena. Talk about a have changer! When I'm up the lift and one guy is on the dingo and another doing groundwork, communication is a breeze. Sure the $1600 for the 3 was a tough pill to swallow, but I'm telling you, couples don't communicate this well. Plus we can trash talk and nobody can hear us!
Drew Murphy normally have to take them to a place that grinds it up, colors the mulch and sells it. The box is 20x6x4 roughly. We can load up quite a bit. Sometimes we keep the trunks to mill
Good to see a company investing in specialist kit to make the job easier/safer etc etc. I like the “whilst your here, can you just” bush at the end too. 👍
Charles Rivers we found that the chipper wasn’t big/powerful enough to mechanically feed it. It would get jammed and ended up being more work. We recently invested in a larger one and can feed it directly with the grapple saw. Much easier. Thanks for watching!
A-Plus Tree Yeah I hear you bud I had a brush bandit to 254XP which we used to feed with the log truck and It would always overheat The more bark M 18 beaver seems to do a little better
Im a knuckle boom operator in NYC, it's the first time I saw wallboard cutting trees. I see a lot of shock load on the boom, how often do you have problems with cylinders?

what type of knuckle boom is the western star truck?
Fassi 390
How long did the job take?
Day and a half
Wow amazing work and that main grapple truck puts ones I ran to shame lol. The operator is very skilled
i want to know the cost of that job compared to a smaller traditional crew
MrTreeman1979 what do you mean by a smaller traditional crew? At this time we were a crew of 3, which is an average tree crew size.
Crew running 1 bucket, 1 chipper truck, possible 1 walk behind skidder. No grapple.
Or just let me know what this job cost? Lol that would answer it. And your location
We’re in the Fremont NE area. This job was around $3500
Thanks for the info. Great job for a very reasonable price.
does this crane have full capacity 360 degrees or does it drop off over the sides of the truck?
That crane is amazing, don't think I've ever seen one quite like it. Great job.
dryad130 thanks!
Why are the ground guys feeling the chipper by hand if there’s a grapple truck on the site? Awesome video

That machine is a groundies worst nightmare!!! At least you have two 😃.
How does one get into learning how to operate one of these? Young climber but this is the future for the industry.
Benjamin Johnson we spent a day learning about it with the guy we bought it from. From there it was trail and error and lots of practice.
how long did it took you to take the tree down?
1.5 days. The big trunk took half a day.
