    Love it! Do you use sterling or silver filled wire? Half hard? I assume if hammered you can't use plated.

    I use 20 wth all my components and its not a heavy wire and its sterdy yet easy enough to manipulate..good for earring wires also..not to big

      HI Sarah! I just starting to make my own components. Do you use the hammer/block for earring components? I was curious is flattened 20 gauge might be too big for earring components. Thanks!!!

    Can you hammer craft wire? I heard you couldn't and it would damage the coating?

    Do you have any videos on how to make the ring your wearing with the gunmetal pearl and any of your bracelets you’re wearing? I’m definitely going to make the earrings for my mom. She recently lost a red hoop earring and I want to make her some red earrings. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us.

      Aloha Kim, we do not currently have a video on the ring Lynn is wearing. We will keep that in mind for future episodes. Thank you for watching. Have fun creating earrings for your mom! (side note, I have a cousin Kim Jones :) made me smile when I saw your name and comment)

    WOW! Earrings in 5 minutes. Love them! I just made 2 pairs...one pair with silver wire and one pair with gold wire. Thank you so much. A question...you said you showed how to make ear wires earlier. Did I miss that in the video or, is there another video where you showed this?

    Hello:
    I love your video. I want to start making jewelry and your video have got me more interested in this kind of art. I am looking for some material in internet and I noticed there are different colors of wires and my question is: If I use the hammer on a color wire, would it lose the color too much or would it give just a nice effect showing the silver that I guess is behind the color. What have you noticed according to your experience?

    • @bfslocations
      @bfslocations  6 років тому +1

      Aloha! Great question.....If the metal is sterling silver or gold filled it should keep the color, IF IT IS PLATED......AND YOU HAMMER IT, YOU WILL LOOSE THE COLOR. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching!

    Thank you for sharing this. I have found more than one size of wrap & tap pliers on line. What size are you using? The small one I found is 5/7/10 mm & the larger is 13/16/20 (1/2", 5/8", 3/4"). Thank you!

    • @bfslocations
      @bfslocations  6 років тому

      We're using the larger wrap & tap (13,16,20) for this particular project.

    Hello what kind of wire did you use? dead soft? half hard? craft wire? Thanks

    • @bfslocations
      @bfslocations  5 років тому +1

      The wire I used for the video was 18 gauge aluminum, but it was strictly for display purposes for viewers to be able to clearly see the process itself.
      I usually recommend 22 gauge for large shells and 24-26 for smaller shells.
      Hope this helps!
