There's so much detail packed into this huge set which is good since I like to see detail in buildings like this. It was great to see it with lights in it that was cool.
I do have to say, this does look impressive. I do like that it splits open, although not fully sure how that would work with modulars. I'm very tempted by this as it reminds me of being in HK, but I'll have to see how I can squeeze it in here....
The hinges prevent it from fitting flush against any modular. Theoretically you could ignore this if you replaced the hinge blocks, or if you accounted for the space in a "filler" zone between buildings. Personally I'd do the latter if I were using the MILLS plate technique, or the former generally. Hinges are nice, but I personally prefer making the walls actually removeable.
Oh man I remember how good those Hong Kong Pineapple Buns are! Been looking forward to seeing this review, the official pictures didn't feel like they'd capture the full feel of the set. I like the idea of the signage lights even if they don't quite look perfect.
I could not stop staring at that 1 circular detail at the top, thought it was just me till you did mention it toward the end also haha! Happy fun day! These videos give so much joy during lockdown! Nice set but I personally prefer modular than hinged also! It’s Sembo’s style which is fine!

Concerning the fans in the Mahjong club: You have to use two snow shoes for each hole (there should be 8 of them left in your spare pieces), as their end is only a semicircle. If you do it like that, its stable.
I rarely comment on people asking for instructions, unfortunately I don't have this set anymore it was sold out and I don't have any more in stock. The manual was big though...hope you find it.

I love the idea that you can flip these buildings open and make them look like 2 modular buildings. I personally think that Sembo is one of the better brands with good quality bricks and I personally love their mini figures a lot. The only thing that bothered me a bit is the scratched up window pieces, because it was hard to see the camera's in the display. But this would still be something I would buy (if I can make some room for it).
Yea I have yet to find any set with clean windows. Some brands even separate them but still scratchy as hell. To be fair though the cam seems to pick up details. I honestly couldn’t tell much from my eyes hahaha

The Chinese white house with black rooftop. I’m really curious how that one looks inside and no one has done a review on it so far. Care to share with us?

Oh man. Afaik Sembo doesn’t make pdfs actually most brands don’t. Not sure why not since big L does. Lol. I would highly advise to hit up the seller. That’s kinda wrong they didn’t send instructions. If they did it to lessen the weight then they probably were trying to ship it at the cheapest rate to you. At least they should’ve had their own file to send to you. There’s two books so it’s not small either. I hope you find a way to get it. I’ll keep an eye out for any links come my way.
This set looks amazing in that it has such great detail in it. My favorite part was the Mahjong tables. If you stick two of these back to back you'll get one whole building.
It's a pity, that Sembo didn't use their print-on stickers in this set, those "normal" stickers just don't look as good. But the building itself looks awesome! Sembo does a better job with the mini figures than Lego: If there's skin visible on a darker torso, it has the same colour as the face (with Lego it's always a bit darker, as if they didn't use enough colour).
I never noticed about the mini figs but they certainly are treading on fine lines hhahaha I’m sure for a set this scale it’s cheaper to do stickers. A few prints would’ve been nice though.
I have so many, but a lot of them are mixed and match. I'd have to double check for sure, the other problem is shipping is probably going to cost more than the figs themselves lol.
It's too bad this wasn't built like a modular. It would be nice to be able to take it apart without opening it from the side. I do think you missed an opportunity with all of those wires inside. I expected to see one of the minifigures with one of the wires wrapped around its neck. Too many wires!

Sembo's brick quality is quite nice. I own one of their helicopter sets. The Z-20 Attack Helicopter set # 202125. Was super fun to build.
Yea 202125 sells pretty well on our store. I think some of the military ones have mad amounts of stickers though. I should review some of them….
