Need a hose and a 20# tank and I've found that if i put my heater on a milk crate you wont end up with a puddle of water.
question for you guys. I wanted to do this but was worried about heater going when sleeping. did you guys use the heater when you were sleeping? I was just worried about fumes
leroy jenkins most of the time try to set an alarm maybe to turn it off every few hours but yes sleeping with the heater on all night is not ideal
The rubber floor mats that piece together are well worth the investment for the floor of your shanty. I bought 10 about 5 years ago and maybe could replace one.

Try adding a sleeping pad on top of your cot next time and you will stay a lot warmer. Even the cheap blue walmart ones. Sleeping bags provide no insulation underneath you since it all compresses.
That first big crappie and your guys reaction to it just was awsome. My cousin slash brother,,,fishing buddy had the same rwaction to some giant crappies we caught this summer and had no idea they where their. Great memories. Unfortionatly he had just passed at home 46 years old in his sleep. We had just made plans like five hours before that to go fishing for some more perch before the river froze up in fulton ny. Please add a battery powered carbon monoxide detector to the mix next time. Sleeping around heaters is no joke and can kill you. Otherwise, great video and look forward to your next adventure!

Not a bad idea to have a CO detector, but the Buddy Heater actually has a built in CO shutoff so you should be good.

Just a small suggestion on the propane, save some cash (1#’ers aren’t cheap) get yourself an 11# cylinder and an extended hose for the buddy and run the cylinder outside to save space. I use the single buddy and I’ve been running 1 tank for a whole season without running out. Works like a charm! Happy fishing guys!

You guys did pretty good for the first time it’s pretty fun to spend the night on the ice I’ve done it several times with my friends you could definitely use a 20 lb propane tank so it last the whole night, a tarp for the floor, and an otter resort hub
Camping on the ice doesn’t seem that bad. Should do it more often!
Next time take some cooking oil and some Lousiana crispy breading. Catch and cook and eat fresh...don't forget dipping sauce. I almost always forget dipping sauce...lol. Found that my Clam (c-360 thermal, all that would fit in my car) hub which is 6x6 internal dimensions does not accommodate two cots, I'd have to put one in the center or it would be too long at 75"+ - sucks, so I opted for a chair with a footrest instead.
