- In this episode of The Little Things, we take a look at an early Strawberry Shortcake Marketing Pamphlet. In 1981, the Kenner Toy Company released a pamphlet called “The Billion Dollar Year: Part of the 5-Year Marketing Plan for Strawberry Shortcake”. The Pamphlet was designed to get retailers excited about the Sales Potential for the Strawberry Shortcake toys, dolls and the entire, now retro, Product Range, by discussing the Marketing Plan for the line during the next few years. The pamphlet discusses future (past) initiatives, such as television specials and costumed appearances, as well as the diverse range of products offered in the line. One of the ways they showcased product diversity was to show photographs of Strawberry Shortcake In-Store Product Displays from around the country. This pamphlet gives a great, and rare, glimpse into the world of early 1980s Toy and Product line in-store displays in Supermarkets, Malls, Department Stores and Drug Stores, as well as a nostalgic journey to be able to once again view Strawberry Shortcake products offered in all their berrylicious glory. Let’s take a nostalgic journey into Berry History. Thanks to: Vintage Shortcake Ephemera at www.vintageshortcakeephemera.com/

Thanks! This was such a neat bit of nostalgia that I had to share it! I loved seeing the old store merchandise displays and wanted to try get people to feel they were back there again.
My father got me a bag of Strawberry Shortcake themed bubble gum in 1983 of course it was the summer as I gave the rest of bag to my little sisters .
Liked ♥️👍💯

I have never heard of the gum but I am looking it up right now. Thanks for the lead!
I remember smelling one of those dolls in kindergarten.
