    Is there no way to use the subwoofer with pcm stereo sound? I've tried everything I can think of. It'll only work if the signal outputs a subwoofer channel like with pcm 5.1, 7.1, dts, DD+, etc.

    Under Equalizer settings 2-6 I see options for Front, Center Height, surround, surround back, subwoofer locations
    Is the equalizer for the Left and right channel pairs linked, or can you EQ the Left and right channels individually per location?

    • @OnkyoEU
      @OnkyoEU  7 років тому

      Hello Donovan, to confirm: the equalizer settings for left and right channel pairs are linked. Thank you for asking.

    Does this have the option of speaker fill? if I'm playing stereo , can i choose to play it from all speakers instead of just left right and subs?
    Thanks in advanced ^-^

      Hi - and yes, this listening mode is called "AllCh Stereo" - ideal for background music, this mode fills the entire listening area with stereo sound from the front, surround, and surround back speakers.

    I got my Onkyo TX RZ810 today, Saturday. I hook up my Bose AM10 system and a jbl 12" subwoofer to it and I feel very disappointed with the sound. I've try to tweak speakers settings but to no avail. The receiver is cranked to 70. The center channel is so low I can barely hear the conversation, maybe because the Bose system use just one cube for a center channel? I configured the receiver according to the steps on this video but like I said, very disappointed with the sound. The picture quality is perfect since the receiver is upscaling the Blue-ray DVD to 1080p, with no problem. Any suggestions? Thanks...oh! BTW, I haven't connected the powered KRK speakers monitors yet. And if I do, do you know exactly where they are supposed to go? Thank you, again.

      Hi and no worries at all - this looks like your system just needs proper tuning. :) Would you mind getting in touch with your customer care team, please - as this can go into very details of your setup - where a UA-cam channel feed might not be the best choice for followup. The colleages will be glad to verify the settings with you / giving you advice on how to properly setup your system:

      Phone:

      Please let them also know if you were using the AccuEQ automatic room calibration and/or if you manually tweaking any speaker settings.
      Thanks you!

      I did use the mic calibration and I did tweaked the speakers settings a couple of times looking for improvement. Yes, I got a louder sound from my center channel after manually boosting up the decibels on that specific channel. Sounds much better now. Can't wait for Klipsch RP450C. Thank you...

    1080p > 4k Upscaling...Question : If you do it through the TV settings itself then do I turn the AVR (above) to "Off" or "Auto"..? I assume Off.

    • @OnkyoEU
      @OnkyoEU  7 років тому

      Hi - correct, if you want the TV to do handle the upscaling of content, you should disable the upscaling function of the AVR by setting it to "Off". Thanks for asking!

      Hello Travis, the subwoofer pre-outs are wired in parallel, just connect the 2nd sub - there is no need to activate the send connector.

    I want to connect another analog DVD Player like the Oppo 981hd, where can I hook it up? I got already a Sony Blu-ray connected to the main BD-DVD HDMI slot.
    I just connected the Oppo to the game slot on the receiver is working fine. I was wondering, because that slot is specifically assigned to Game I thought it wouldn't work, but is working. Ha!

    • @OnkyoEU
      @OnkyoEU  7 років тому +1

      Hi, basically you can connect your Oppo DV981HD to any other unused HDMI input (CBL/SAT, STRM BOX, GAME, PC, ...) - and selecting the corresponding source key instead of BD/DVD (as far as we aware, the 981HD has a digital HDMI output - so no need to use any analog cabling). The pre-defined names on the source keys have been provided for your convenience - instead of delivering the AV receiver with completely "blank" keys labeled "Source1", "Source2", "Source3"..... However, you can rename the names shown on the AV receiver display for each input source by using the "Name Edit" feature. Please select "Setup -> Source -> Name Edit". For details on how to use this feature, please see the manual (also available online on www.eu.onkyo.com)

    • @TheOlavarria49
      @TheOlavarria49 7 років тому

      Oh, Hey! Thanks for the info. I will rename the input from Game to Oppo. Thank you.

    Can the TX-RZ810 output two separate video and audio signals to two separate tvs at the same time?

    • @OnkyoEU
      @OnkyoEU  6 років тому

      Hi, you can enjoy content from a Blu-ray Disc player on a TV equipped with an HDMI input jack in the separate room (ZONE 2) by playing a Blu-ray Disc player in the main room (where this unit is located), or play the content from another AV component. Only the video from devices connected to the HDMI IN1 to IN3 jacks can be played on the TV in the separate room.
      Setup: Settings are required in Initial Setup, "4. Multi Zone Setup" (please see page 21 in Advanced Manual) to enjoy this feature. The audio from externally connected AV components can only be output when the audio is analog or 2ch PCM audio signals. It may also be necessary to convert the audio output of the AV component to PCM output.

      OnkyoEU That's great news, thanks for the reply. So, if I were to connect two video game systems to the reciever, a friend and I would be able to use both game systems on two different TVs at the same time correct?

    • @OnkyoEU
      @OnkyoEU  6 років тому

      Hi Zach - and sorry for late reply: Yes, as long as the source of HDMI Zone 2 is connected to HDMI input 1-3 and audio is PCM stereo (e.g. no surround).

    Question: Can I drive a set of powered speakers (KRK Rokit 8) in this receiver? I know for a fact I can drive a Bose AM 10 set and separate subwoofer through this receiver, but I was wondering if I can run powered speakers with too. Thanks...

    • @OnkyoEU
      @OnkyoEU  7 років тому

      Hi and yes: connect the "RCA unbalanced" on the rear of your KRK Rokit8 with the corresponding "PRE OUT" RCA/Cinch connector on the rear of your receiver. Thanks for asking!

      Thanks for your response. I have another question, do you happen to know which Denon AVR is the perfect match in regard to power and features with the TX-RZ 810? And which one would you recommend. The Onkyo TX-RZ810 is $699.00. Which it fit perfectly within my budget.

      Sorry to say, but as this channel is driven by Onkyo and being Onkyo staff, our comment regarding your question might be biased. Also we cannot comment on competitor products.
