Destiny 2 - The Eldritch Horror Hiding On The Dreadnaught

- Episode 3 Heresy will focus on the Hive Pantheon, but more interestingly, will introduce a new eldritch force that begins to open pathways and communicate with the player. This could introduce a new enemy we will face beyond in Frontiers, or revive one that's been waiting in silence since prophecy. Let’s discuss.

Thanks for watching!
That dreadnaught intro gave me chills. Major memories ❤
We didn't know how good we had it!
Please clean my ship of the Cabal and yourselves guardians ❤
Remember, Oryx has a prison inside the Dreadnaught. Maybe something in there broke free.
Plot twist: the "eldritch horror" is the dreadnought itself. Anyone here seen Event Horizon?😅
Yes!
Considering that it’s the remains of a worm god and they are pretty damn weird, wouldn’t surprise me at all considering that xol turned himself into a gun, funniest thing I’ve ever seen.
*reads this shivers* please no. Lol.
@@morganpriest7726makes since why the dreadnaught is peeling back also revealing boney structures
Event Horizon screwed with me pretty good way back in the day. It was 2am and I was looking for something to watch. Saw that and was like hey, it’s sci-fi, it’s got Lawrence Fishburn, looks creepy like aliens. Sold! Yeah right. 2am home alone in the dark had no idea what I was in for.
The story of Taox needs resolving, seeing as her name has also been linked to a Psion prediction Engine known as the Oxta Machine.
And it's OXA prediction machine Otzot was the psion.
Thanks!
This can go back to savathun’s two truths, two lies. The taken king will rise again. We never did really know if it was indeed a lie.
Kings fall raid returned
@@hdgamerarchives1038 old raid..doesn’t tie in to the story..like crota. Ghost of the deep dungeon..now is it starting to make sense?
@EvzAKAsweedy honestly at the time I feel it was a hint towards king fall coming back but decided to change that in deep.
@@EvzAKAsweedy Don't forget Savathun is one of a handful of characters that has broken the 4th wall. She could have been referring to the King's Fall Raid.
Taken King doesn't mean that oryx will rise again, because we could have taken his throne but we didn't.
So there could be some New hive gods that could take the throne
The Eldritch Horror, will turn out to be, none other than Taniks!
it's gonna be Taniks, Kelgorath, or Fuckrul.
Naw that's episode 2. That's not really fikrul, it's tankis. Lol.
The only eldritch horror on dreadnaught I can imagine is a d1 player, that hasn't showered since beta test
It's Parsons The Eldritch Pete of Greed!
I LOVE the dreadnaught, the music, the aesthetic, the nostalgia! I miss that period of Destiny.
I think an interesting story thread would be a hive hunt, In the sense that if our guardian were slain in sword logic the hive in question would become a god. Imagine the tithes of the one who killed Oryx Rhulk nezerac and the Witness, they’d become the most powerful hive to exist
I really like how much of a creepy Devil archetype the Winnower is. It takes facts of existence and evolution and charismatically twists them in such a way to convince you that being evil is good.
Like in real life
Still clinging on to hope its nezerac as the next big bad. They did him so dirty in lightfall. He could be a really interesting way to find a new form of darkness.
The concept art with the monolith look eerily similar to the veil
I am awaiting the return of Oryx, back to occupy his mutating body which currently 'lives' but has no occupant in the driving seat.
If his heart ever gets put back into his body, he'll most likely be able to be resurrected.
Technically isnt that heresy ? Oryx lost the battle . There is no such thing as ressurection for Hive . Thats why Oryx son Nokris was outcast .
The worm-god Akka is probably getting resurrected as a new eldritch horror.
I hope this eldritch horror and lovecraftian entity is the new main antagonist of the next saga more dangerous than the witness
Nah, I’d rather not get into DBZ territory, where every new big bad needs to be exponentially more dangerous than the last. An enemy can be weaker than the Witness while still being a threat. Powerwise, Ghaul was the weakest big bad we’d faced up until that point; and he got further than any enemy before considering that he nearly managed to wipe us out.
Yeah. Literally took the witness going into the traveler to put us in a similar situation. I'm enjoying the lighter stakes right now. Bit of a return to d1 early days of feeling like an adventurer more than a soldier.
I hope we get some toland shit. Would be funny if he wants to become a hive god
The dreadnaught is where Peter is waiting for more cars to go VROOM VROOM!
I loved the Dreadnaught - D2 keeps me coming back for more.
*Wait... we're going back to the dreadnaught?!*
Yeah, we found this out during the reveal of the episodes.
Going back on the oryx lore in taken king, many other lore nerds including Byf believe that oryx was actually taking to the winnower and not the witness, so going back to the dreadnaught might leads us to this lore, who knows, we might end up talking to the winnower in the final episode. (I think the winnower is a much scarier force than the witness as we have not much info on the being)
We need to locate Dark/Light Blade, and Oryx’s worm.
I foresee bad things
I haven’t purchased the Final Shape or any of the following episodes but if they bring back the Dreadnought I’m all in as is my money
Nokris, i feel may return
00:20 damn I hope the episode comes with Taken King inspired music!
Soooo maybe Oryx somehow kept his dreadnought 'Alive'? And now it is decaying? Revealing what lies beneath its hull? Well.... I guess only time will tell what's going to happen in Heresy. ^^
I love this one keep up the good work and love your content
Where was eris during the final shape?
Universe gonna start talking through all these mediums.
we shall see, if they dont fire everyone first
On a unrelated note, places I would like to visit in destiny lore: the distributary and the black terrace.
Thanks for your amazing content Evaze👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
May seem odd but the portal on the thumbnail in the concept art looks like a giant rhulks glaive
I wonder if that gateway in oryx’s campaign boss fight room will play a role
The armour looks so cool!
it's Kelgorath
Lovecraft for destiny
I could see one of the IX turning the Dreadnaught into a body. Though I'd say chances are low.
I bet it’s the worm god corpse Oryx used to make the Dreadnaught
Would be cool if were lead back to the Dreadnaught to explore Oryxs memories..of a darker truth..another enemy..
Perhaps the ruins of the throne world oryx wrapped around his dreadnaught??
Oryx is extremely important and I doubt that Savathun would just give up after one lightbearing hive died. She is the hive goddess of trickery so chances are ghosts of the deep was a plan she laid out to fail. I think that Oryx is going to be revived into a lightbearer which might make him a horrifying beast since he will now have taken and a lightbearer stuff.
We need to steal Oryx’s sword and fly away in the Dreadnaught to see other systems and restart without our light and dark powers!
You mean steal our sword back from Shaxx? The one we made out of Oryx's sword
@@LordTonzilla oh shit you’re right I totally forgot that’s where the OG exotic swords came from!
Oryx's Sword should be one of those skateboard mounts.
@@Kurotaisa IT’S CALLED A SKIMMER
Could this have anything to do with Mara’s Harbinger? Since the Dreadnaught fight with the Awoken was the last time Mara used her Harbinger, and given that Mara summoned it but it was absent for the final shape. I feel like it could be present for that Episode.
Akka would be very cool. Released from Oryx’s control and from the Witness- what would a revived god among even the worm gods themselves do next?
Maybe the portals are echoes? I don’t think we’ve actually seen what they look like yet
I'm still going to be bet on it being a reviving Akka using the power of the Echo.
Though I will be happy if it turns out to be something else instead.
What if the ahamkara and worm gods are the same thing.
It's been hinted at before. Byfs dragon video goes over the similarities I think. If they're not related species it's congruent evolution, two different species evolving similar traits while being unrelated i.e. birds and bats having wings but not being related.
What if we get in Episode 3 on the dreadnaught and in the Finale we go trough a Portal coming out at the Hive home world what leads to a Campaign where we fight Xivu
So we know that other races beyond the Hive can utilize Sword Logic, power through slaughter
Hiraaks the Mindbender, Toland, and Eris being big examples where they each had created their own Throne World
(Eris is different since she utilized Savathuns as her base, unless she did have a Throne World we never saw)
There was one alien figure that became a worshiper of the Sword Logic and who would have had an incredibly large amount of battle tribute to draw upon when she "died" in the physical world
Umun'arath, the former head of all Cabal military forces, grew obsessed with the Hive and even worshiped the Worm Gods. Caiatl killed her which was what created the portals for Xivu Arath's forces to invade Torobatl
I could see whoever remains at Bungie having her show up as a new Hive power as the Cabal try to take back Torobatl
Is it too much to ask that all the weapons from this episode to be weapons of sorrow
season pass weapon from that episode might finally give us another exotic weapon of sorrow
@umbratilicious15 Im hoping for legendary variants if it's only a exotic maybe a heavy or special weapon option
Cosmic horror steps.
1. Challenged Primacy
2. Forbidden Knowledge
3. Madness
4. Deception
5. Horrific Self-discovery
Calling it now Evaze, Taox is returning
What if it’s the sword logic calling out to us considering we killed there gods and worms
Could an Echo resuscitate Akka, bring back its consciousness? Perhaps the peeling of skin is the result of its tithes from the Hive shriveling up. What would a Worm God desperate for tithes do?
Did evade go thru a name change?
Yeah, it's been awhile now
Yeah rebrand to make it feel more unique
Awesome
Eldritch=Pete Parsons destroyer of d2 for cars the go vroom
Make the taken king even greater
I think that we will be communing directly qith the Deep (The Winnower) wothin the Dreadnaught and the next 5-10 years of d2 will be leading up to an eventual confrontation of Xivu, the Ophelions(bungie really needs to capitalize on them as an enemy) the Nine, The Worm Gods and then The Winnower. But i dont think the Winnower is the final big bad in my opinion. I believe Paracausality in itself is the final enemy of Destiny. And the Guardians will have to destroy not only the Winnower and his Sword Logic but also destroy The Gardener the traveler, even ourselves to some varying degree. And the whole conflict of light and dark which will allow life to evolve properly without a lording force over how it evolves. A universe where life evolves freely. As we know the darkness is not rooted in evil it is rooted in survival. Likewise, the light is not rooted in good it is rooted in kife
Feels like the winnower is the only eldritch thing in the destiny universe at the moment. Maybe Skira the watcher? if that even gets explained. Dreadnaught makes sense for Oryx and the Winnower. We know the winnower loved Oryx and basically referred to him as his dude bro. And in the mission where we fight Oryx there is that odd architecture portal thing in that room with the spikes, perhaps what we can use to commune? But also speaking of Hive, was of Taox? Oxta/Oxa?
Skira the Watcher was how Nezarec appeared to the Fallen.
@@seanmsw5977 i remember that being the floating theory, but was there ever a piece of lore to confirm it?
Melkor.
You honestly think a being of pure Darkness cares for the machinations of man? It simply is, was and has always been there. It does sometimes get distracted on its quest to finish the Game. Nothing more and nothing less. We are but a mere speck of inconsequence in the grand scheme of the cosmos. A nocturnal emission made know to no One in the quantum realm of existence. Now if we some how become a mess after that nocturnal emission, then you might have cause for alarm. For the Darkness is just along for the ride just like the Light.
At first im thinking eldritch force is winnower but maybe its nezarec? Coukd be anyone rlly, kinda wanna just skip episode echoes to start ep3 ep2 looks ok but i hate drip fed story in the middle of a war
No. It's Pete Parsons parking lot
they have to bring back the ENTIRE dreadnought and there has to be secrets and fun activuties. make heroic public events difficult and rewarding
We've had 3 hive expansions that's it 2 are brilliant 1 was meh
how many times have i called this one now lol
Taken King is not dead, in his cocoon... xivu will use prismatic to resurrect. pretty sure he's the winnower
Orix should not be brought back,if bungie does then it shouldn't be as a enemy. Why would we fight someone again that we already killed?
"Why would we fight someone that we already killed?" - every enemy race talking about Guardians lmao
@@MelancholicBodhisattva 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dawg who is Orix?
Well I get your sentiment, but have you heard of Taniks the Immortal?
Considering the lore implies that Oryx interacted with the actual Darkness "The Winower" I'm more interested in an Oryx come back than either of his sisters. I would also be interested in seeing Taox and what she has been up to.
Copium
Is this the same force in the vesper dungeon puppeting attraks
