Call of War sucks honestly, it takes days and has real time fights which is a disadvantage a you need to stay online for too long, politics are meh and same for the animations.

@@RNKel1 It is mainly done for those roads, not for the accuracy. And unlike at hoi4, if you are not major power (even minor powers are unplayable) then you are fucked up.

Why didnt you use regular marines? The strength of the marine commandos is that they can leave any coastal province without a port, adding arty or amphib tanks takes that away

The UK had at the start of WW2 the largest merchant navy in the world for trade with the empire, this is probably why in HIO4 the UK has so many convoys.
They had 800 last patch now they have 1000. PDX love the UK
@@DaveFeedBackGaming It also means that vs the AI, playing as Germany, you can raid the UK all you like with your subs BUT you literally cannot kill them all now.
@@DaveFeedBackGaming It's as balancing thing because players would be starving the Allies with subs.
tip for navy XP: If you train only your destroyers, you will still get more than enough navy XP, but without the need to import a lot of fuel or repair expensive heavy ships.

9:21 The infantry expert's bonus applies at the ratio of infantry in your division to the total size of the division. For example, if 75% of your division is made up of infantry battalions, the division will gain 7.5% attack (added to the country modifier). Marines/Marine Commandos count as infantry for this calculation.
Do all special forces count as infantry?
@@childofslaanesh1251 Yeah, mountaineers and paratroopers also count. Amtracs and amphibious tanks don't count.
When I tried this I also went down the mountaineer doctrine to add rangers which stack even more org, attack, terrain buffs, and line artillery soft attack making them even more disgusting. Great video Dave
I kinda yearn for ye olde days when there was no SF limit. Making mountaineers with artillery as your only units when playing Romania or Czechoslovakia was just way too much fun.

Dave, you probably didn't notice it yet, but Proper Heritage(and any other trait that allows free division designs) also trivialises civil wars. Design a fat 40 width division, delete all other templates, disband said division before civil war fires. AI will take forever to train a single such division. Meanwhile you can design a single battalion template for free, deploy it ahead of time and put it on garrison order for victory points. Each division that had taken a point would get a medal too! So once the civil war is over, disband the rest and change the ones with medals to big template and train them to be real divisions. Works great to get minor nations to Total Mobilization and Extensive Conscription asap too.
He didnt use the ability to leave from a tile without a port the whole point of the marine commandos.

@@DaveFeedBackGaming that is the literall difference between marines and commandos. However it often wont let you do it because of other battalions. If you cant use this ability then it is better to stick to normal marines because they have more ORG.
FeedBack nice video (as always) but you could show that marine commandos cna evacuate from province WITHOUT port, which is huge meta mainly for mp. Because now you just spam commandos, naval invade and encircle some ports and do as much damage as you can, and when enemy send tanks, you just withdraw without port. You can also combine it with paratrooper doctrine (which when you paradrop enemy lose org) and you have op naval invasions.
Feature I didn't even know existed. Think the division has to be pure royal marines for it to work
@@DaveFeedBackGaming Yes, it does. The other thing that confused me about them is that, while they can evacuate from any coastline, they still have to target a port to return to when they evacuate.
Like Paratroopers, they can do this with most support companies. Im sure theres some kind of cheese to be had here.

@@DaveFeedBackGaming Keep in mind you have to get the other side of the marine doctrine (So you won't be able to damage buildings when you naval invade) to unlock exfiltration without a port!

The most OP are actually Mountaineers:
1) Imba rangers with an insane bonus to artillery attack (even after fixing a bug in the first AAT versions)
2) The last perk in right doctrine branch allows you to create entire armies of special forces (apparently a bug that instead of Special Forces Capacity Multiplier +20% gives +200%).
The final recipe for a simple victory: mountaineers, a few battalions of infantry to increase Capacity and heavy self-propelled artillery to taste.
Bug is fixed. But MTN are still the best. You get five percent soft attack ten percent attack to all special forces. You get the Rangers. Then finish another SF doctrine for five percent soft attack, ten percent attack to all special forces. Use your Mountaineers as elite attack forces in hills and mountains.
Marine commandos can retreat without a port. That's the main difference between them and regular marines.
Yes. There are plain buffs to special forces attack in both the Mountaineer and Paratrooper trees.

The reason why you're still getting a naval penalty is the arty in your marine division.
Further more ONLY the marine commando's can retreat to the sea together with the companies so no arty battalions, no amphibious tanks, no other battalion type other than the commando's.
I guess the idea is to make a separate commando division to harass/probe the enemy and than send in dedicated marine/amphibious armour division to do the real naval invasion.
If you go for mountanieers also you get more special forces damage + special force limit.
Also special forces gets very low hp compared to infantry, but paratroopers gets almost same hp as infantry, so you can battleplan with them without loosing that much equipment/manpower

Dude this is as strong as Brotherhood of Steel forces in the Old World Blues mod... and they have power armour and lasers.
I build marines in every game, and always have, glad to see them getting massive buffs.

I’ve been having great success with Marines / Early Schwims as Germany and eventually switching to mechanized marines. So much fun taking over Eurasia by 1940 😂
9 armour ticks on armoured recon tanks gives infantry about 7 armour, which is more than enough for the early game. Swapping to a line battalion of LT’s gives about 17, which is even more than enough vs the early USSR or whoever.
The Virgin America: "We must build a bomb with the power of the sun to prevent us taking huge losses landing in Japan in 1946."
The Chad Britain: "ha ha we've landed Marines on Honshu before Japan even joined the war." 😂

If you don't mind, I have some questions:
1. Why haven't you used close support gun on that first amphibious tank, for more soft attack?
(I mostly use it with slopped armour, fuel drums and something for breakthrough. And over 5 km/h)
2. Isn't breakthrough more important than soft attack for naval invasion? And high org to land and don't get wiped out after landing?
3. Aren't the commandos marines better just for just breaking rivers, amph landing, test landings and damaging infrastructure, but ordinary marine better overall during campaign, so having 2 templates wouldn't be better?
Having just one battalion of marine commandos in a division doesn't make the same effect on infrastructure and the ability of getting out?
4. The right lower path on marine doctrines gives you way bigger special forces cap, so when you went for just one type of forces everything wouldn't it be overall better and more effective?
5. Could you do just a 1 sec screens in videos on what you had researched, and what were the stats and the conditions in different parts of the campaign so we can stop and analyze?
I would really enjoy it, and fellow stats freaks I think too. And it would make another questions futile.
6. Have you researched naval invasion tech before the war, not for supply, just for modifiers?
-Have you finished marine tech to get more org?
-Have you stacked all infantry passive tech modifiers?
-Were you using naval invasion support order during landings?
-What was the air, did you have any before CAS spam? Any yellow at least?

1: To keep the cost down. So I had enough to strength 5 divisions before the war

Why add artillery battalions before artillery support company? I mean, don't they do the same thing, only the support company does it cheaper?
I always go right side with the marines because it increases the amount of marines you can get by increasing the special forces cap for marines. As America, I get like 50 30w marines by 1941 lmao. It has made USA quite boring now though I will admit.

I feel like if special forces were cheaper to tech into, both with research speed and xp, theyd be more viable. It makes no sense to even try these days when a good combo of inf can get almost any job done. Why spend hundreds of xp and years of research for marginal gains that affect 4% of your army.
