I feel bad for anyone who believed Suicide Squad KTJL was gonna last for 12-14 seasons. The game just had no desire to exist, it is literally just a Fortnite clone, minus the multiplayer.
A lot of people aren't realizing that WB wasn't even at fault for Suicide Squad, that was all Sefton Hill and Jamie Walker. The biggest fault that WB had in that scenario was giving Sefton and Jamie too much creative freedom. Obviously, WB didn't expect Suicide Squad to fail, so that's why they let Camoflouj do Arkham Shadow. However, the difference between Sefton Hill and Ryan Payton is that Ryan has put 3 years into making sure Arkham Shadow actually feels like an Arkham game, just in VR. He's studied the lore (even taking the comics into consideration), he's played the games, he had help from WB and DC themselves, and is basing Arkham Shadow off of Arkham Asylum's map and level design with the more brutal story that Arkham Origins had with game elements from every other Arkham Game. Even if you don't buy a Quest 3 or the Quest 3S (which will be $200 - $300 cheaper), I think we can all agree that this game at the VERY LEAST sounds good.
It’s crazy cause wb really could’ve done a loose adaptation of long Halloween and dark victory as the perfect Arkham origins sequel. Cause we know through Easter eggs of the other Arkham games that Arkham Batman went through the long Halloween. Batman and Robin playable 2 face as the main villain Easy money right there
IFFF, said game didnt get heavily leaked, i forgot if it was one of the main VA working on it but he said the entire thing basically got leaked so it got trashed

You all are like the first people I’ve seen to notice that the Suicide Squad movies weren’t major successes so why would the games be. I feel like I’ve found sanity.
What's crazy to me, is that most of us were defending Sefton Hill, saying that he must've left the company due to corporate interference. Turns out is was all his idea. I am no longer excited for any games his new company makes.
The VR game is such an idiotic move, it's crazy, especially after SS:KtJL. To me it's clear confirmation that tons of people working high-up in the video-game industry are either completely incompetent at worse, or completely disconnected from their customers at best.
I can understand if the majority of consumers purchased Meta Quest 3, but there's only a small niche of ppl that have that VR device. I think Arkham Shadow should be on consoles alongside Meta Quest 3 from a financial perspective to reach a larger audience.
@@AmariMarvelous They'd have to be two very distinct games, though. The console version would be the VR game ported to console, which would make it utterly boring, because all the fun of a VR game is the unique and immersive perspective you get from a VR headset. Or if it was a console game ported on VR, they'd have to rework all the gameplay to account for motion-sickness and such. Not an easy task at all. *MAYBE* it could work if they made two completely different games. But then again, the well has been poisoned by SS:KtJL. They wasted all the remaining potential of the Arkham franchise after Knight to make this story where the Arkham Batman unceremoniously got shot in the head by Harley Quinn. At best, you might say there's datamined un-used content about the JL members we saw in the game being clones, but that doesn't fit Brainiac's usual MO of not making copies of what he acquires (he usually downloads knowledge to his own database then eliminates the original source to prevent redundancy). Even then, Wonder Woman wasn't captured and she was killed, and the fate of the Batfamily is not looking good either. Not only that, but Metropolis was turned into ruins full of corpses and ashes. Add to that the passing of Kevin Conroy... My point is : it's like Star Wars. All they can safely do now are games set before SS:KtJL (like Arkham Shadows)... but look what we're getting, maaan! Rat-catcher? What's next? Condiment King? Or better yet, Rat-catcher is a red-herring and Harleen pulls Joker (voiced by Troy Baker because Mark Hamill is done with it all) out of prison and he does the same sh!t he pulled in Origins, stealing the show. Thanks but naaaah. I ain't buying that, man. I'll watch 'BatmanArkhamVideos' do a playthrough on his YT channel. Every possible scenario I can think of looks pretty f-ing bleak to me. The *ONLY* thing that could work would be if WB can find a way to undo SS:KtJL. They could try to pull a retcon on us like "SS:KtJL was never set in the Arkhamverse, ha-ha, we got you good!"... Then they do a proper sequel to Arkham Knight. Maybe they go the 'Batman Beyond' way, introduce Damian Wayne or Terry McGinnis, that way they can avoid explaining why Bruce Wayne no longer sounds like Kevin Conroy...
@goblinounours Good points. When I mentioned Arkham Shadow being on console and VR, I was thinking along the lines of the console version being 3rd person action for what the Arkham series is known for and the VR would be essential the same game but implementing gameplay that works for VR. Either a different developer would have to work on the console version or the devs working on Arkham Shadow for meta quest can split the studio where the other team works on the console version. While I do like the concept of Batman Arkham Shadow being VR and giving you a different perspective to play it, overall, the game should have been developed for consoles being gamers have more accessibility to those consoles and it makes sense from a financial standpoint and publishers and developers gain more profit. Personally, I would prefer to play it on console, although playing it on the meta quest 3 would give it a unique perspective.
@@AmariMarvelous That's where it's incredible. I'm fairly sure the vast majority of the Arkham fanbase would rather have a console/PC game, and maybe a VR game as support, like both of us. It's flabbergasting that WB would do that move.
It's honestly disheartening how batman arkham was at the top of the world and with so much promise of more to come, but it resorted to this. We deserved better.
All your worries about Arkham Shadow come mostly from being unbelievably pessimistic or simply uninformed, as you are (understandably so obviusly) not active in the VR community. So, I wanted to address some of the points and worries that you guys had. SCALE OF THE GAME: You mentioned concerns that this would only be a "demo" or small in scale like the Arkham VR game from nearly a decade ago. This is not at all what this is meant to be. This game is about the scope and length of Arkham Asylum (10+ hours) and is overall very inspired by that game. It's meant to be the next main-line Arkham game and will be original compared to the previous games. In terms of scale, story, and gameplay, it is similar to what you know from the previous games, especially Arkham Asylum. PAST GAMES & VISUALS: Iron Man VR is Camouflaj's most recent game release and was generally very well received, so the criticism in that regard is a bit confusing to me. It appears to me you were mainly just judging the game based on the visuals and likely watching footage of the Meta Quest 2 version. In that context, the criticism is understandable. Meta Quest 2 is already five years old (standalone) hardware and can't run very high-fidelity looking games (although I have to mention that looking at a VR game on a flat-screen and being in the game is very different. They don't look the same and VR has different visual priorities than flat-screen games). Batman Arkham Shadow will be on the Meta Quest 3 only and will fully utilize that hardware, unlike Iron Man VR, which was originally developed for PSVR and then ported to Quest 2. With Arkham Shadow, they will have about four times the power to work with (about on par with a last-gen console performance-wise). So you still need to keep expectations realistic because this is a standalone device somewhat like the Steam Deck or the Switch (much newer hardware though, obviously). This won't be a next-gen experience visually. LACK OF GAMEPLAY SHOWN: There isn't a lot of in-game footage of the game that has been published, that's true. However, there were some screenshots that, if you ask me, looked very nice (again, this is a standalone device and VR is very performance hungry, so the screenshots don't quite look next-gen, and you can't expect that). So, there clearly isn't a complete lack of game footage. The reason there isn't a gameplay trailer or something else out there very simply has to do with how Meta announces and markets their games, which is very different from typical flat-screen games. Meta almost always announces their games the same year as they get released. Usually, they get announced just before summer and then released in the fall. That doesn't leave a lot of time for all the marketing that you usually have, although Meta obviously still wants to market their games. They took a very regular approach so far: teaser, story trailer, gameplay trailer, and then some more extra trailers simply for the hype. Meta and Camouflaj wanted to build the world and story first, which is a very regular approach. The only difference is the time between announcement and release, which is typical for Meta. PRICE/ACCESSIBITLY: Meta Quest 3 is indeed very expensive. Who would want to pay $500 just for one game, right? That's the perspective you have, and understandably so. If you aren't in the space, it makes sense to think that way. The fault here is on Meta. Meta is actually about to release a cheaper version of Meta Quest 3 called "Meta Quest 3S," which is meant as the alternative and main device for the mainstream audience (like Quest 2, which, by the way, sold ~25+ million units and outsold both the Xbox Series X and S. In the past month, it outsold PS5 and Xbox Series X combined despite being so old. The space really isn't as small as you seem to believe) unlike Meta Quest 3, which is meant more for enthusiasts or people who can afford to pay $500. "Meta Quest 3S" will be about $200-$300, so that issue should be resolved as well. Also Consider all the other AAA Games coming out if you think of Purchasing it (Alien, Metro, Behemoth, Wanderer, for example should all be great experiences & there are still many more to be announced). If you have any more questions or worries, PLEASE feel free to ask, and I will do my best to answer them. My view on it is that as Long as the Game turns out good which is expecteed, then There shouldn't be a real Issue. Half LIfe Alyx has shown that when done right VR is the best way of experiencing Games.

All your worries about Arkham Shadow come mostly from being unbelievably pessimistic or simply uninformed, as you are (understandably so obviusly) not active in the VR community. So, I wanted to address some of the points and worries that you guys had.
