The "expert" (at 9.48) said you can come in on 45 days visa on arrival which is wrong. No visa required - it's visa exempt.
I use Nida Visa, she is spot on. Don’t know this one but won’t change.

Was in at the office a few weeks ago to ask about a long term visa. The big lady behind the counter wasn't even interested in finding out my situation and told me you only dealt with retirement visas, basically fobbed me off cos she seemed to have better things to do. Oh well, I gave a donation to the orphanage at least.

your video came up on UA-cam with some very up to date useful information. So thank you for that and kudos for keeping in shape. As a retired respiratory therapist living in Thailand, when you mentioned having had a bout of pneumonia and seeing your physical build a red flag came up. It has been observed in healthcare that the type of weight lifting that results in having a very developed muscular development in the chest area results in what is called ‘restrictive airway’ breathing. This results in many breathing problems but also airway infections. Just a brotherly piece of… information.

When did you apply? Was it online? 3 weeks is insane. They've had mine for over 5 weeks now - no updates.
I got mine in about two weeks maximum back in May , don’t know about now though
@@wbev_thai1666 Lucky you! May is before the school holidays and summer season, so they likely had less applications then.
I messed up as I knew I had to renew mine and had literally 2 years to do it. But foolishly left it until late. I'm pretty angry with myself as the plan was to fly early November. Now that's looking unlikely. And prices of flights rocket up closer we get to December.
I'm bitterly annoyed with myself.
So according to Darren, you can extend your now standard 45 day visa upon arrival another 30 days twice a year? And if at the end of the initial 30 day extension, fly to Cambo for 2-3 weeks, you would then receive another 45 day visa upon arrival and after that, get the second 30 day extension, which would allow a tourist to actually have a total of about 160 or so days, nearly 6 full months! Now THAT is a great situation for a guy who wishes to stay long term in Thailand each year. Thanks for one of your most informative videos I've seen since being a subscriber. Much appreciated.

However you dress it up, if you get the retirement visa without having had the required amount in your bank account for the previous 2 months it has been fraudulently obtained by means of kickbacks.

Hi guys, I applied for a renewal on my UK passport as it was getting into the 6 months expiry. I sent off my application and my old passport on Monday 3rd and received my new passport on Thursday 6th. Top service 👍🏻

The list a requirements for the tourist eVIsa [via the Thai embassy in the UK] is bloody ridiculous. I gave up, and have heard of many others doing the same. It's really not worth the hassle, until they make the process simpler.

I lived in Pattaya for decades. I now live in Indonesia. Indonesians are very big on family. The short story. Married to an Indonesian I have permanent residence in 7 years. Required money in the bank, 24,000 baht. During Covid I could enter Indonesia. My friends, married to Thais were not allowed into Thailand. Says it all right there.

You can open a bank account on a 'visa on arrival' or tourist visa at some bank branches. Just ask around. Bangkok Bank is the most likely bank to approval it.

From what I've heard Trev, you"re 100% correct when you say that a visit to the immigration dept shall take all day. Maybe you could also mention just how rude, unhelpful and arrogant these officials can be with tourists ( especially in the Chieng Mai office apparently.) This is what I"ve been told anyway.

I wish I had another chance to talk to this man. I'm fking heart broken ! He helped me out so much through the years and he even did some of my visas free. I was a young 20 year old kid when I first met him and needed help. At 40 years of age now I know what level of character this man had. RIP brother x

I do not understand the statement that you can not open a bank account on a tourist visa as this morning I opened one with the Bangkok bank here in Pattaya with the help of Nan financial services., it took 30 minutes with a bank book and Mastercard, only needed 500 bhat to open. It cost 750 for the card, 3,000 for the assistance.

I remember using Darren's shop years ago when he was only 8 stones wet through. He was excellent and helpful with a few of my problems.

Hey Trev unfortunately for me I had a bad experience with his office girls and they really screwed me up so I went to Maneerat travel and saw Nan she was absolutely fantastic fixed all the problems got my 1 yr visa helped with bank account gave 3 exist visas takes care of my 90 day check ins and was less money

Very informative. However, I was expecting that Darren would mention the new health insurance cover requirement of 100,000 USD, which came into force on 1st October. If I'm understanding this rule correctly, this greatly exceeds the previous requirement of 400,000 THB and would obviously result in severely increased premiums.

I didn't have any trouble opening a bank account just needed rental contract and landlord information. Having a thai bank account is essential i'd say, very expensive otherwise.

Over 55 years old in Cambodia can obtain an ER visa a( retirement visa ) for $90 for 6 months or 12 months for $180 can be extended every year for $180 USA dollars easiest country in the world for obtaining a retirement visa if you are 55 years or older :
Both 6 months and 12 months gives you unlimited exit entry into Cambodia.

For those Americans that don't know the kilograms pounds conversion, then 1 kilo equals 2.205 pounds, so for him to say he's pressing 230 kilos, is really impressive

I don't know why so many people complain about the 90 day check in. It is dead easy to do. Now you can go early, get it done and drop into Cheap Charlies for breakfast.

In Hua Hin , you just go to immigration at blùport shopping mall and your out with your visa in 30 minutes, so easy
It depends. I was unable to do it online through the Covid years. It was a couple of hours and Grab taxi to get it done in Bangkok. Pre-Covid the wait was at least an hour in the immigration office.

If you apply for the renewal of a UK passport online in the UK it is taking on average 3 weeks.
The biggest reason for taking so long is photo rejection, If you use the photo booth you just upload the number and your photo appears on the renewal page, the booth also confirms if the photo is good enough, if it is not the machine will retake the photo

I just did an extension in Patong. The gentleman told me to come back in 3 hours. I gave him 100 baht and bam! it was done in seconds. hahaha Gotta Love it.

It's one day for Polish passport. Mostly because you cannot book an appointment on the same day. Next day appointment and get your passport on the same day.

I actually looked into the education visa method a few times. The requirements are not that strict. Must attend classes a few hours each week. But the ministry was starting to crack down on it, make people take tests, speak in Thai, even read Thai. I can handle the verbal but have tried and will never ever pick up the script this late in my life! I don't learn as well as I did when I was in Elementary school!

I have heard the school on Samui is the easiest one of you just want a visa
you don't even need to attend class just do a few lessons on zoom and thats from anywhere in thailand.
I emailed one of the schools earlier this year and was told that if you keep paying the fee to renew the visa and pay for the course to the language school, then you didn’t even need to attend the classes.

i applyed for a new passport 2 weeks ago in the uk.
The application was submitted Saturday, old pasport sent Sunday just with a first class stamp, they received it Tuesday and had my new passport delivered on Friday, didn't even take a week. hopefully the issues we have had in the uk this year are behind us and everyone gets them quick including people abroad:).

Something brought up to me by wife’s family. Just visit a country bordering Thailand and it starts all over for another 45 days. You cross border spend a day or night. Come back. They stamp your passport and the time starts over.
Gotcha
This doesn't work forever. It's completely up to the immigration agent on whether they'll renew your stay. If they think you're taking advantage of the system then you won't be let back in.

The 45 Day Visa on arrival , with the 30 day extension option, will cease at the end of March 2023 its only temporary. 👍

A passport in Sweden takes about 16 weeks at the moment because they're made in Finland!? and their machine broke down in the beginning of the summer so they're backed up a bit.

I have a British passport and applied in China, so did 2 friends. They were told their names were spelt wrong and their applications were deleted so they reapplied and the same thing. I was told I was miss my resident permit, which I had sent numerous times. I applied on June the 10 and flew on the 18 July. Ended up entering on a TV because my visa was left as "processing" for about 4 months then was deleted. I've heard of many similar stories. Another Thai money grad.

Great information ,the Thai's always seem to be changing visa rules,I would like to see a One year Tourist visa and pay a certain amount of baht like 10 or 20,000 baht.I don't feel comfortable with leaving 800,000 baht in a Thai bank for a retirement visa,for what so your girlfriend can get when you die.
If you die how would you get to spend it might as well let the Thai girl have some fun
