Then it should be re-named......"safety jack", because the last thing I want when coming in to dock in strong winds is having my main blowing all over the deck (esp since the wind direction never is optimal to the docking direction). he do not need it- being on a safe starboard from 4-5 aclock- Furthermore it is not conveniet as u need to maneuvre in the harbour .. So... seems like you are not the one that has the experience..
