    What a beautiful and sweet scene, while seemingly so natural and down to earth too. The guy is not a hunk and clearly shy, while McAdams is stunningly beautiful yet insecure and a little awkward. Just a wonderful scene and movie.❤

    What makes this such an indulgent fantasy to me(not having watched the rest of the movie) is that the guy does so little to impress the girl. He makes some simple conversation with a few basic jokes and then just sorta looks at her at the end and that is enough. Its balanced. Mcadams is just as concerned about impressing him after those few things. Finding dates for me always felt like this massive battle to seem interesting, funny, show social power, be attractive, have your life together .... while the person on the other side never seems to reciprocate the same level of effort. It just always amazes me how simple the fantasy is. Just someone you like who likes you. Yet so hard to find.

      I think you undersell yourself too much. First of all getting the date is half the battle! Secondly, yknow, a lot of people especially girls make so much of an effort to not be “fake” on dates that they overcorrect and act too casual. All anyone wants is someone to love them for who they are, flaws and all, and it seems like it’s more common to either put up a front and act like you have no flaws or to just be too upfront and lay them all out to someone who’s basically a stranger.
      But I think one area where you probably aren’t lacking is “having your life together.” Nobody in the world has their life together. Maybe I’m crazy but I think that someone who pretends to have their life together is not worth a second date with, and they’re certainly not worth it if they think they can judge whether YOUR life is together or not.
      Anyway I’d really recommend watching the rest of the movie. The guy had to literally go back in time twice to get this girl. And maybe the first date didn’t go right but he knew she was worth breaking the space time continuum for. That girl is gonna come into your life when you don’t expect it.

    The thing I absolutely love about this scene is that if it's meant to be it will be. It's so beautiful how he doesn't try to make anything happen and how she doesn't either.

      @@gagi6294 so what your saying is that I can create a reality in my mind where I'm actually loved by someone

    • @gagi6294
      @gagi6294 9 місяців тому

      @@dulkacenllin6709 I am saying that, and this is what Jung talked about, and is also extensively discussed in eastern philosophies, your outer reality is a reflection of your inner world. In other words, work on cultivating love and abundance within and you will see it on the outside as well. Joe Dispenza talks about this beautifully, I would recommend listening to his lectures. For me, I was looking for love for so long, until I realize the love I seek must first come from within, so I learned to be more in tune with my feelings, to express emotions, to understand myself etc. Heart based meditations also help, they do wonders actually. Vegan diet for me was also a big part, since it purifies your inner space, because in the end it is about realizing the oneness of all life, feeling love and compassion for all beings, which is what we want to cultivate here - love. But in this context when I talk about love, I talk about it more as a metaphysical gravity that unites all life, the supreme energy of love, not just as a chemical emotion in the context of human drama. So love for yourself and all life. Hope I didn't confuse you, I can do that someetimes lol, and I hope this helps :)

    I've eaten in this restaurant. After about a minute, once you've realized that eating with a fork is useless, as you cannot see or feel with a fork, you wind up eating with your hands. Mousse would be interesting to share that way, with a stranger. Oh, and if you have to pee, you have to wait for the server to come and help. On the way to the bathroom, he left me in the middle of the restaurant to go do something else. I had to wait for him to return. During that time, I realized the real premise of the restaurant.
