Excellent run and it looks like the game runs decently enough, I was kinda worried when the posted the min spec. I'm glad they finally settled on a direction for the weapon though. I mostly used aerial do dodge stuff and descending thrust to land. Rise was egregious in the focus on aerial and counters but plenty of people enjoyed it so w/e. Can't wait to get into the beta tonight or tomorrow after work and get a first hand account on how everything feels/works
Insect glave my boi my baby boi gets castrated but everyone else gets more. Everyone else gets more dodges, more moves but where restrained. The only thing that makes a little scenes is to make it where we can't be in the air for ever but to almost completely take away? The only high light is more combo moves with are inveterate friend. Also thank you for showing insect glave, its like everyone trying to hide my baby boi from me. INSECT MAIN FOR LIFE.

I miss the helicopter but tbh these changes are really good for improving damage and maintaining triple buff. 1. Gathering buffs by attacking while focusing is great 2. Once you have triple buff you can jump then charge circle for the og descending thrust 3. That then automatically does the new flashy ground charge attack which then goes into rising thrust 4. Rising thrust puts you into the air which then allows you to reposition or attempt another mount 5. If you mount successfully you can do a spinning finisher to replenish all of your buffs! Rinse and repeat. And as a bonus if you make any wounds the focus stroke replenishes your triple buff as well and some times results in a knockdown. IG flows so well now. I can’t wait until we get to try this with better insects too.

@@LokiToxtrocity Yes, it's an extra step bc in previous games you would just press circle in the air. Now you have to press and hold it when you have triple or red buff but in exchange it goes right into the charged ground attack

Only gen 5 had aerial combos lol 4th gen Insect Glaive didn't have any bounces, and it never needed them, that helicopter attack was terrible anyways, people who spammed it dealt as much damage as a mosquito.

We lost aerial combo, and earplugs, but LG mains get to keep all of their new gen abilities plus super armor during Helmbreaker start up, cancellable Hembreaker, and getsuga tenshous?! Seems pretty balanced to me……
Optimal IG is now to get 3 extracts asap, use rising slash and repeat. They removed aerial and made grounded just not as good overall. I never knew i wanted SAED spam CB from IG, but that's the weapon I have now i guess.
Wrong? Lmao IG has a ton of versatile attacks now, more combos, and getting extracts is actually part of fighting with the weapon instead if just having to target spots with the Kinsect all the time.

I'm kinda glad they chose a direction for it instead of failing to appeal to either side of the insect glaive divide effectively and it looks like you still have reasons to use aerial without just poking for 5 damage a hit so it's the best of both worlds and in some ways.. a return to form for the weapon.
part of the reason why I love and mained IG is because of those helicopter movement it did and now they nerfed it they should've do that to the long sword they keep adding new moves to that weapon
The weapon feels so slow compared to world/ rise and has basically been reverted to the way it was in 4u, ill probs just move on to my secondary/ tertiary with chargeblade and swax
Actually powder still exist. Kinsect will stay in Assist type with Focus Mode But once you mark a monster it will become Powder type until it either out of stamina or recall it early.
Idk if i just played world a lot, but I just feel that in wilds the char and the Monsters fight like underwater, there is not that sensation of hitting hard, and the optimization is trash. We will wait to see the final product
They made movement more readable. It’s noticeable but in all still feels like world. And the sensation of big hits is still there with certain attacks. Keep in mind the gameplay where allowed is low rank at the very beginning so I’m sure enemies like ray dau will have more attacks in high rank. And they mentioned skills for weapons. I believe this refers to jewels but some has said theirs going to be varying movesets for each weapon so we have to wait until where not stuck with one weapon per type and able to actually craft to see
They seem to have removed the hitstop in animations, which takes so much impact away from the weapons. Definitely need to see how they respond to the beta feedback. My fingers are crossed that they bring back aerial glaive to some degree.
As an IG user since itsi ntroduction, I'm so happy with the new glaive, jumping and being acrobatic with it was the main point of the weapon, not flying, I love the new fantasy of high mobility and long string combos
Finally someone gets it lol, I play insect glaive to dance around the monster and have a move for every situation constantly comboing. It's such a graceful weapon somewhere inbetween dual blades and longsword and people keep wanting to make it something it shouldn't have been to begin with. Aerial mobility is an amazing feature for a weapon to have, regardless of whether there's a bunch of combos attached.
Guess i gotta find a new weapon to main fr....I like the Helicopter move for the simple fact of repositioning sometimes. I hope they put it in the full game.
You can use a downthrust attack by holding circle while in the air like you would on the ground, the timing is tight but you can use the helicopter move to keep u in the air and give you more accuracy and time to use it. can lead into the ground hold circle attacks, into focus strike, and loops back around.
The charge attacks are crazy enough trade for the aerial bounce, one of them can take 3 essence at once. I wonder what can be done with high end kinsect
For that super attack they should add more damage it uses all 3 colors that you have to collect, which is very hard to do from some monster especially that short ones and the really fast ones the kinsect is so incredible slow in the first lvls that takes a lot of the fun away at the end it would be cool if the kinsect could collect all 3 slots which made the game more fun that is the only thing I hate about that weapon that you have to collect stuff and most of the time enemy runs away and again you have to collect the colors especially at end the monster runs away all the time, and they could make the stamina drain from the dual blade attack less it takes extrem big part if you dodge the bowling on the other hand can dothat more often and gets big benefits only from normal dodge, they have to finetune some stuff.
The kinsect can now collect two extracts of course you gotta hit the collect parts to get each individual extract, if you hold down L2 and and imput normal attacks the kinsect will fight with you, collecting extracts as it attacks, and the focus attack collects all 3 in one go
The problem are the small monsters like chatacabra the Orange thing, were only on his belly but he rarely stands up or Shows it that way it sucks if you have problems collecting what you need that takes the fun from the weapon, I will try new weapons a lot have new upgrades and moves.

Descending thrust is still part of the moveset. However, you have to charge before you can use it, along with having red extract. They put up more barriers to get access to the full moveset, and neutered aerial combat. Not sure what nice they want the weapon to fulfil now......
@@AdAce21 It's a middle ground between Dual Blades (super fast, two blades) and Longsword (build up mechanic, long reach) and it does it pretty well with aerial mobility as an added benefit to dodge all sorts of moves (as opposed to LSs counters)
I think the addition of the focus slash combo makes up for the loss of the bounce combo. Plus, gives you the more options for fully collecting the buffs for the kinsect. Overall, I love the changes and think it's well balanced.
I'm so mad about the IG nerf that I'm thinking of skipping the game all together lol. This looks so clunky, i dont even care about aerial gone at this point. This weapon just looks clunky with no dps
"Getting extract never been easier" Instead of embracing the game mechanic, and design a weapon so we can adapt around not always needing all the buff, they make it look like a glorified Charge Blade. They streamlined extract collecting so much it remind me of Rise Hunting Horn.
Yeaaaaa, watching 'em not make insect glaive good when they had a literal grappling hook stand-in was a wakeup call for me. They just want dark souls with combos because they know it will sell. I don't blame em, but I just wish they had seen the aerial combat potential. Don't think I'll be buyin' it unless ig gets an insanely heavily invested overhaul and there's clearly no way that's happening. hell of a shame.
It's funny you mention that. I was actually telling my wife how they could have borrowed that jump attack from sunbreak but using the slinger. Imagine your kinsect attaching to the slinger and throwing you forward for fast hit that you use to bounce off the monster, and then repeat it three times into the focus strike mid air that shoots the kinsect out. Then a downward thrust to finish the combo as your kinsect drills through the monster to you gathering an extract or two based on where you hit the monster.
I think I'm the only one happy because it's not flying anymore. I always thought that wasn't cool for monster hunter. Now I'm really interested in that weapon

Helicopter was never good. The only IG users whining are the scrubs that would spam air jumps all day and do 0 dmg.

It’s becuase the sound design makes the weapons feel so weak. It’s too high pitch. Feels like you’re just scratching them

I'm a wee confused how many "railgun attacks" does Rey Dau have, like some of it seems not as bombastic as the virtually OHKO(one hit KO) one

I've found it particularly easy to upkeep my extracts in this game, then again, I always find a way to upkeep my extracts.
