Tacloban, officially the City of Tacloban, is a highly urbanized city on Leyte island in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines. With a population of 251,881, it serves as the provincial capital and is the most populous city in the Eastern Visayas. Tacloban was briefly the Philippines' capital under the Commonwealth Government and ranks as the fifth most competitive city in the country.
