    Great sound. Very clear, but without sharpness. Thanks for the sound demo!

    My two cents for everyone reading these reviews trying to decide on purchases....I auditioned the Aurora 200 back to back against Monitor Audio bronze 50's and Wharfedale Diamond 225's, and the Heco were very, very, laid back, very prominent bass (overly done), they lacked so much detail in the mid range that the vocals and instruments like saxophone sounded dark and almost muffled. I wanted to like them and maybe the bigger cabinets are a different story, but the 200's weren't even close to the Monitor Audios or Wharfedales. (and in case you're curious, the Monitor Audio were the most detailed and forward of the three, but it wasn't overdone or harsh, I think they were as close to neutral as you can get given the size of the cabinet, they were my top pick, the Wharefdale sounded very balanced as well, but were voiced a little bit laid back, not anything huge like the Heco, but definitely not as detailed or neutral as the Monitor Audio. YMMV.

      sorry, but your experience says nothing. we don't know where you demoed them, which amp, what kind of music, the position of the speakers, etc.

      @@jackdanyal4329 Except it does mean that the Heco's are very bass prominent compared to other book shelves in this class, on a relative basis. All of the factors you state absolutely effect the sound, but not to the extent that one can't point to a speaker and say "that's very bass prominent". And FYI, I listed to them in three separate rooms on three separate amps, all three being very different listening environments. You also forgot, "whose ears", tastes vary wildly! If I told you all the room/amp factors would it matter, you still can't hear them yourself? None of the speakers in this class (economical bookshelves) are very good, none of the ones in my audition list were anyway, but some are better than others, and some are just really poorly done. My point is the Heco's are very bass heavy, take all your factors (room, amp, music, ears, etc.), but in the end the Heco's are overdone in the bass and too lacking in the mid for most people to consider them a well balanced or neutral sounding speaker. I'm not saying that nobody would like them, I'm sure there are bass freaks out there that will love them, but studies have shown that most people prefer neutral leaning sound, and in this class of speaker there are others that do a better job of achieving that than the Heco's. Like I said, I wanted to like them, and they are pleasant and smooth, but when auditioned back to back with comparable competition, the bass-heavy nature sticks out as a fault.

    Any other speakers you would recommend in this price point? (In Europe the Heco are 480 euros). I currently have Dali Spektors 2 that I've had for quite a while now and I think they're a bit too bright with not much bass extension. I mostly listen to Pop, hip-hop, rap.

      @Dampfaeus 10 місяців тому

      Debut Reference 6.2? Oh, definitely. You are going to lose a bit of bass, and the Elac are much, much harder to drive. Basically, you are going from one end of the spectrum (can be driven with a 25-watt amp) to the other end of the spectrum (up to 120 watt into 6 ohm). But the sound ...

      Heco can cost as low as 300usd in Europe. Dali Oberon is king of staging, but "3" should be some 130-160USD more, competing with Polk Reference or Monitor audio bronze 100. Heco 300 is priced more like Polk Signature or Qacoustics 3030i.
