DJI OM 1 - 5 has had the same problem but never improved it. Called DJI support and they always suggest to take case off. As you said, "I am not taking case off!". It's easy fix, don't know why DJI never understand customer's needs.

Considering the weight of your phone and the case, does the gimbal works good with all that Wright? Do you use any counterweight?

There is another solution if you own an iPhone 14/15/16 Pro Max. I have the DJI OM 4 and the iPhone 16 Pro Max with the clear MagSafe plastic case. I bought a DJI Magnetic Phone Holder Clamp on Amazon for $16.95. It's made by Aerbeis. Works with the DJI OM 4/4 SE/5/6. It replaces the magnetic clip that came with the OM 4. It can attach directly to the iPhone if you don't use a case, or attaches to a Magsafe case. Does a better job securing my iPhone 16 Pro Max to the OM 4 than the magnetic clip that came with the OM 4.

Thanks for this. I was considering all kinds of different ways to modify my S21 Ultra case (compromising phone protection) or figuring out a way to glue the magnet to my case. Just seeing you bend the tabs without breaking them saves me a ton of hassle! 👍🤠👍

Removing those arms and gluing the magnet to the case was my first thought. 🙂

They sell on Amazon a aftermarket one that will fit perfectly.

Is there any reason why you can't glue the optional magnet to the Otterbox case?

Note20 Ultra user here, totally good trick. I just fitted my clamp with the moment case and finally I can have my gimbal ready in 1 second!

just remove the rubber strip inside the clamp. it’ll perfectly fit on iphone12-13 thick cases without destroying them..

My cell phone case has a strong magnet. Do you think I can use that instead of the included magnet? Or could I add the magnet over my magnet case? I’m thinking of ordering the dji om5.

I have also seen people remove the rubber pads from the clamps, to create more room.

Cover mod suggestion. How about cutting the curved sides off so that a flat portion is left. Then cut the hole and place the magnet inside the cover with the flats holding it under the cover. No glueing.
