Altra is highly underrated. They'll blow up bigtime in the coming years. People are becoming more health concious. Altra has the most stylish, comfortable and affordable zero drop shoes. S Tier Brand.
Hi Ryan I just purchased the Altra Provision 6 in UAE. This is more comfortable than my old Nike Pegasus but still just trying them out. Thanks for doing in-depth reviews on Altra.
These reviews are so much appreciated.
Hi Ryan, thanks for the reviews! Keep up the great work! How would you compare the Provision 7 to the Torin 6, as far as fit and feel underfoot, and ride?
I was about to buy a pair of Provision 7 but now that I see the front of the toe-box uppers has been narrowed vis a vis Provision 6 which I liked a lot, including the sound music on asphalt, I changed my mind. I also bought a pair of Paradigm 6 but I found the toe box marginally narrower with the medial edge cutting into my big toe.
I would like to know if the feet would feel cold during the winters when you are wearing Provision 6/7 , just for walk . I mean when running we won't feel cold but how does it feel during casual walks please?
The upper in provision 6 started tearing after a month. Do I expect the same with provision 7 or paradigm. If so then I have to change the brand?
My mums 83 stroke victim just started with altra Rivera just ordered provision 5 she doing well walking stairs, more OT’sshould use Altra
Great video. Thanks!
What number i buy if i have 10.709 inch, for long hiking days?
Is Provision 6 softer than Saucony Ride 15?
Hey Ryan, love your channel! I’m seriously considering trying a pair of the Altra Provisions. I see that I can get the version 6 for under $100 now. I have never run in a zeo drop shoe before so do you have any advice?
Yes! Take it slow. Use it casually first and let your body adjust to the zero drop as it’ll put more stress on your calves and achilles. I actually prefer Altras for my casual wear
@@RyansRunningReviewsYT Thanks! I’ll take it slow and see how it goes for me. I’m used to running in shoes like the New Balance 1080 v12, the Puma Velocity Nitro 2, Saucony Triumph 20 and Speed 2’s, Asics Novablast 3’s, Adidas Takumi Sen 8, and Nike Invincible 2. I’ll give them a try and see if they work for me.
Now that the providion 6 is on a discount, I guess its a great buy
I would agree
For a pretty heavy guy which would be good for walking/standing 10hours a day between this and the Torin?
This has more cushion than the Torin in my opinion
@@RyansRunningReviewsYT oh thanks so much for the response!
Wide toebox, overpronate, terrible shin splints.
Provision best for that?
I had Sachony ride 3 which had like a 10mm drop. Got shin splints all the time went to Altra Provision 6. No more shin splints. Only shoes I will wear now are Altras.
"interflex"
The upper in Provision 7 is terrible. Very stiff, hard, unpleasant material. Especially in a toebox area. Very poor heal lockdown (almost none). Also very poorly designed arch support. It's uncomfortable, shoe feels narrow in the middle area and less stable than other Altra models. Compared to Torin 6 soft, plushy, roomy upper with great lockdown... there is no comparison. Torin is on whole different level when it comes to upper comfort. On the other hand Provision have a slightly edge when it comes to midsole/outsole shape and materials. With a little bit of rocker sensation they feel more agile and less dull when walking. But only on concrete. As trail shoes they're terrible. Somehow on soft ground this foam feels so heavy and clunky... Anyway Torins seems to be a safer bet.
Provision is not a trail shoe, it’s a road shoe.
But Torins provide only neutral support. Useless to anyone in need of stability.
