Warfield did what any reasonable commander would do: he pleaded for the lives of his men. He managed to save them all by facing down Kerrigan, who by all rights ought to have killed him by this point if she was so hell-bent on revenge. This cutscene also shows that Kerrigan, even as the leader of the Swarm, is not without a moral compass. Contrast this to the Queen of Blades's attitude on who should live and who should die.
Wow, Warfield must have been hit in the head by one of those i-beams because his logic makes no fucking sense. Those soldiers too wounded to fight were wounded in battle with the Zerg. I mean this is on Char, the closest thing the Zerg have to a home planet in the Koprulu Sector. He's asking her to let invaders who were wounded fighting off her zerg go free.
