It's because vivec's fate depends on if the player kills him or not. Anything the player can directly affect in a Bethesda game is deliberately avoided, due to player choice, and left vague for player personal interpretation. But Jiub is not, after asking your name, he is essentially voided from existence as soon as you leave the instance. Eliminating the player having any influence over his fate. And for official lore, that's free real estate!
I was both happy and sad to find him inside the soul cairne when I played Skyrim. I remembered him from morrowind, but then was like "oh no, you didn't deserve to be traped in here..."
Bethesda didn't have to do anything with Jiub. They could have just said all the cliff racers died during the eruption of Red Mountain, but no, they decided to give our first encounter a greater story that can be followed throughout the games to come. That's how you world build.

Honestly, I'd love a Illidan video. He's one of the few characters that I can think of who's genuinely an anti-hero, and his personality is just incredible. There are so many instances that you can point at where it's obvious that what he's doing is not just for saving people, but for his own gain, and it's so refreshing to have a "good" guy who's personality is not just "I want to be as good as possible and make sure nothing bad happens to these innocent people."
Jiub waking me up on the boat is like a formative experience engrained in my psyche. Also though, I kinda like the singles Young Scrolls puts out more than the EPs. Liar Liar, it ain't just a movie title.
Saint Jiib didn't deserve to wind up in the Soul Cairn. I hope a game revisits his situation and has him busting out to continue being a based af Dunmer badass in the background to the main story.
I hope in ES6 we have a quest to lead, or at least take part in, a mission to save people from the Soul Cairn so that Jiub and similar folks can be saved and allowed to finally pass on to the parts of Atherius or Oblivion they truly earned in life.
I think there is a villain (antivillain?) you might find interesting. It's Dhaos from Tales of Phantasia. What follows is a spoiler: While at first it seems Dhaos is a regular sealed evil type of space parasite who wipes out entire villages (which you will visit while and after they're wiped out to rub the salt in), and it has a cult army of people who want to use Dhaos for power, the ending is actually bittersweet. Yes, you kill Dhaos, and everything is well (except you go back to rebuild the village burned by his goons and mourn the villagers you saw just before they were mercilessly murdered), you find out Dhaos wanted to steal the mana tree that gives life to the planet not for power but to save his planet, because the mana tree on his planet died. Martell, the goddess of the mana tree, sends a seed of her tree to his planet after Dhais was killed, thus saving his planet. I don't think Dhaos speaks the language of the inhabitants, so he couldn't even tell what he's up to. I think he is a silent villain all throughout the game.
If I had to make a request, it would be for Scholar Visari, from Killzone. What an interesting character. I don't know how many times I've played Skyrim/Dawngaurd and I don't think I ever realized he was in the soul cavern. Nice to know his backstory now.

If we're lucky it'll be a spear that does ever increasing damage too the same enemy type the more you kill creatures of the same type and his reset when you kill a creature of a different type.
Young scrolls is goated, and another banger vid Ghost!
To be fair I don't remember fighting any cliff racers in the dragonborn dlc. Thank you Based Jiub
I’m not sure how doable it would be, but I’d love to see a Heropedia or NPCpedia on Solanum or The Prisoner from Outer Wilds would be amazing (both are great, but reading bits and pieces of Solanum growing up and then meeting her is just 🥹). Otherwise, I think diving into ER more and doing maybe Jerren or Sellen (or a joint episode because obviously their paths cross a lot)
Here's a few ideas,
Heropedia: Geralt of Rivia
Villainpedia: King K Rool
NPCpedia: Deckard Cain or Griswold
Worldpedia: Antonica (Everquest).
Very cool that he's based on St Patrick!
Ah, my boy jiub!
Vesimir from the Witcher series would be such a dope one to do.
Excellent video as always, your channel is truly my comfort place 😊 how about kreia from KOTOR 2, I feel like that's one big character to unpack there
it is interesting to note that saint patrick forced serpents out of ireland, which in ye olden days, was closer to something like a dragon. so jiub killing all the cliff racers, the weird dino dragon things they are, its an even closer comparison
I'm still itching to see Anti-Heropedia: Illidan Stormrage
I don't know whether to call him a villain, a hero, or an NPC, but my suggestion would be Gerald Robotnik from the Sonic lore. That, or Knight Commander Meredith from Dragon Age 2.
I ain't got fast travel, looks like I'm going places, telvanni magister, I'm always levitating, Saint jiub I'm hit maker, I will skin you like a f*ing cliff-racer
I hear he's got big dog status in his Elseweyr palace.
