Once they are glued on they are permanent. When we deflate we just roll the board a little looser to accommodate the stiffness of the mounts. That being said our boards spend most of there life pumped up.
Awesome video! I'll be installing some Scotty mounts on my ISUP and this was really helpful. Also, you never actually mentioned the temp but for where I live, even mid 40's is fairly comfortable.
@@SmokinReels thank you! I actually just installed in on Monday and going to try and roll it up and fit it in the bag. Do you ever recommend unscrewing the bracket from the pad? Last question I promise and TIA
@@DSUL85 I leave to mount screwed to the rubber but I remove and holders from that mount and pack them separate, they tend to have sharper edges and I wouldn't want to wear a hole in the board while transporting. Good Luck and have Fun with it!
@@DSUL85 That won't be a problem, you'll never get enough stress on the pole using that set-up on a SUP, there will be too much flex between the mount and that fact you're on an inflatable paddle board. I've never damaged a rod while trolling even on my big boats as long as your drag is set and nothing gets tangled.
God I love smart people. I’ve been trying to figure this out for weeks 😅
Thanks for watching!
Nice video ! where can i buy this fishing holder mount , can u help.. none on amazon
Oh my God, I posted my comment before I saw the very end. Nailed it!
Looks simple enough.Thanks for sharing.
Excellent walk through video. Thank you. Where did you get the D ring patches?
Amazon
@@SmokinReels Thank you. Do you remember the product name?
Looks easier then I would have thought. Thanks
keep in mind before you add any mounts to your kayak or SUP; it will affect the way you need to fold it after deflation to fit back into the bag.
Yes you will not be able to roll it as tight but ours still fits in the original bag.
Sweet video man, any info on the camera mount?
That was a Scotty mount. You can get them on Amazon
When it comes to deflating , what's the easiest way to remove without damaging the board?
Once they are glued on they are permanent. When we deflate we just roll the board a little looser to accommodate the stiffness of the mounts. That being said our boards spend most of there life pumped up.
Dang. Socks with crocks. Must be freezing down there!
Is that mount 0:05 go with the rod holder when you bought it? Or you bought it separately?
The base can be purchased with or without the mount which is actually called a side mount . I have bought them both ways. Thanks for watching
how did this thing hold up. 2 years later?
It’s still like new. A little yellowing were I got sloppy with the glue but otherwise it’s been inflated and deflated dozens of times with no issue.
Awesome stuff... Link for the rod holder please?

The temp was about 68. But for southwest florida that’s cold. 40’s are our middle of the winter temps. Parkas and gloves temps.
Will the board fold up properly with the pad and bracket on?
Yes, it may not roll up as tight but ours, still fits in the bag no problem. Hope That Helps

What grit paper did you use
220 grit is what I used, it seamed to work well. Thanks for watching.
What glue u used?
HH-66 Vinyl Cement, 8 oz. can - RH Adhesives it’s on amazon
Why do you have the rod upside down?
That's the way it fits. Thanks for watching!
@@SmokinReels is it ok to troll with the rod upside down like that?

@@SmokinReels just one more question...can the board still fold up properly with the pad and bracket on?
You have a link to that holder set-up?
I don't have a link but they are scotty brand mounts, I found them on Amazon. Thanks for watching
