A very interest SUP configuration, love the paddle holder and the stand up support piece. May need to figure a quicker way to lock off your anchor line if you get any bigger fish. Thanks for the video.
@@pimpoftheflies5473 Yes I am! Fly fishing will be my primary purpose. That's what I thought. Didn't want to be stuck on the riverbank with a punctured board. I've surprisingly seen a lot more availability for inflatables though. I will be using it for the river primarily. You think a SUP would be good for that?
cooler is the way to go for fly fishing on the SUP! Roll cast from a cooler...doesn't get more chill than that but probly gotta change your line to more of a weight forward for roll casting. can you put a motor on that?
Thanks! it is a lot of fun! I would recommend a wider one for stability and a hard board so you do not have to worry about puncturing it from a fish fin or hook.
I just got a SUP and haven't fished off it yet but that is my main goal. I guess I am concerned about fighting a fish and being stable on the board. where do I put my paddle for fast access incase i am being dragged into something I don't want to be in not to mention fighting the fish while trying to paddle one handed sounds stressful. what if fish gets the line tangled in branches underwater. what if I get a big fish that is dragging me around everywhere and I can't land it just stuck for eternity being dragged out to the ocean unable to break my line off because i am going with the fish. if I anchor and still get dragged like you did imagine the anchor getting caught on something underwater and the board seizing up because the fish has wedged it hard in there. i am overthinking this I reckon.
😂😂 fish will most likely break you off. i only had a little 2.5 kayak anchor and didn’t let out enough line. just switch to a mushroom anchor that’s like 10lb and you won’t go anywhere
I have a great question I noticed that your SUP is inflatable SUP. Have you had any issues with Oyster beds or something like that. While everyone is telling me inflatable SUP are bad in Saltwater I disagree with them your thoughts please. Or anyone else who has an opinion on my question please TIA .
i stay away from oyster beds. but i once layed a fish on the board and punctured it with its spine. i don’t take it out when it’s windy becomes more of a workout
@@pimpoftheflies5473 My exact thoughts I would never go and intentionally look for sharp stuff . Other folks were giving me a hard time about my inflatable kayak. So anyway I appreciate your input on my post . I'm 100% about getting me a inflatable Sup board and putting it to work with my Flyfishing and photography stuff. Thanks
@@pimpoftheflies5473 Other thing is I'm gonna make an area where I can lay fish on it like something like a cutting board platform area. Make it out of coreion what they use for kitchen cutting boards .
dude i seriously laughed out loud at "on the 6 weight.. its over for me" its happened to me before so definitely felt that lol
That first redfish eat was so sick, but then that huge snook had me on the edge of my seat... to bad he broke off. Keep the videos coming!
Thanks man!! I appreciate it!
I'm fly fishing for bass on the Tallapoosa River, even catching a few yellow perch and rock bass.

Great stuff, man! Just got a BOTE myself, your videos are getting me stoked to take it out!

Most excellent video
Too bad about the big snook, but congratulations on getting some redfish slime on the new paddle board!
That was awesome to watch! Subd and looking forward to more videos
Mad skill bro. Respect
Great video! Looking into SUPs for fly fishing!
thanks! are you going to do a lot of fishing off of it? i would recommend a hard board so you do nott have to worry about puncturing it!

@@skylermartin265 I think it’s fun but will be a workout if you are going to be paddling in a lot of current and wind it
Great video!
Funny how the snook wasn't too concerned at first.

No can’t put a motor in it. I’ll have to try the cooler idea though!
You need a 5lbs navy anchor for that paddle board and you won’t get dragged around when you have a fish on.
Love the fishing from a SUP. Great vibe and some great fish. Subbed. What kind of SUP would you recommend for fishing?
