Congrats on the wedding anniversary, Jeff and Nicole! Just passed through STL here last week and thought about you guys. Can’t wait for flight and ATS to make a comeback! Being from the upper Midwest - neither. Menards. 😂😂 I’m also going to have to try that restaurant!
I was on a ruel volunteer fire department before I moved. We did mainly grass/wildland fires. Our department was the one that was called to assist on those types of fires over other as a "small" fire for us was about 10 acres. My first fire was 200 acres with 4 departments all using brush trucks and tankers for water. Took us 6 hours to fully contain and put it out.
I used to feel like there wasn't a difference between Home Depot and Lowes but I think the difference is that Lowes is marketed more as a home improvement store and is thus more inviting to the average person whilst Home Depot is more of the contractor/serious DIYer store so it's a bit more industrial. The have the same stuff but they're pitched slightly differently. Just my take.
I love Home Depot and that’s the one I usually go to. However I have to give Lowes credit for their Veteran parking! My grandpa served in the Air Force in the 50’s and early 60’s and he goes to Lowes for his front row parking. I appreciate them for that!
You are correct. Lowes markets itself to the DIYer, while Home Depot markets itself to the heavy DIYer/contractor. Oddly enough, it is Lowe's that is working through a rebranding, because they have been getting killed when compared to Home Depot and Menards. Contractors buy more product, so they are the coveted customer by all home centers. Lowes tried moving to a more european feel to their stores (think IKEA), but it backfired, customers were spending more time in a Lowe's store, but they were spending about a 1/3 less per visit compared to a Home Depot and about 1/2 compared to Menards.
Being a professional wildfire photographer… been wanting to see if firefighter simulator would have some WUI (Wildland-Urban Interface) scenarios, and this is satisfactory! Definitely some rough edges with reality of fighting wildfires, but not too bad. Some additions hopefully in the future: some type 3 wildland engines, some air attack and retardant drops, Helitack, and the ability to dig some direct and indirect hand line! Keep up the awesome work Jeff, been watching since 2015!
I have fought wildfires myself that type of blaze you will definitely need many water and or retardant drops plus a couple of hand crews and several type 3, 4 , 5& 6 engines and a dozer. Plus several tenders
I was at Fort Leonardwood, Mo for training. When we sent to St Louis we actually crossed the river into Illinois and ate at a place called Lotawata Creek. It’s was frikkin DEE-Lish! Highly recommend!
Wow, the tanks that the firefighters use are ones we manufacture. The detail on the liner is awesome. It's made of an aluminum alloy that we start from scratch and it's wrapped in carbon filament and finished off with fiberglass and labels attached. You wouldn't know it but there are lot numbers stamped on the neck, an engraving per the company's request and also a cast code stamped on the bottom telling us what the dimension of the original plate was. We also write inspection numbers on them as they go through the process. We make them out in Riverside at a company called Luxfer.
The weeks going good...and it just got better with this video....This game has come a long way. I still enjoy playing it as well. Hope you, and everyone is doing well!! Cant wait for the Flight and ATS videos
In every single video Jeff makes is perfect you get amazing quality, commentary, gameplay, explanation, comedy, simulation and uniqueness with an amazing energy and creative mindset every video. Happy Thursday Jeff have an amazing day! Thanks for the amazing videos
Here in Australia, all the local stores have had Christmas decorations out for a month or so already, way too early. Really love the firefighting sim videos Jeff, hope to see some more videos with multiplayer as it's quite funny to watch. And congrats on the anniversary!
I love this sim! Very exciting to watch, and even as a sim, I have a heightened respect for fire fighters as a very special group of people. It's been a while, but perfect timing after a hard week. Hope you are feeling better, and prayers for your improving health!
It would be cool if you could get additional apparatus to respond and then give those AI units commands like your own crew. That would’ve sped up that fire and been more realistic to have 3-4 trucks then 1 truck with 3 firefighters.
You know its a long mission when jeff starts talking home improvement stores. Love watching this game, this would be an awesome mission for the Pennsylvanian boys!
Living in Lebanon, Missouri, we go to Lowes. The nearest Home Depot is in Springfield, a fifty mile drive. Not worth our time to go to Home Depot unless we were in Springfield for other reasons as well. We used to have a Sutherlands in Lebanon but Lowes pushed them out.
13:13 Shop at Lowe's more often Jeff!. Also could we interest you in signing up for the Lowe's Advantage Credit Card or a Lowe's MVP Pro Rewards account?.
This game very very much needs a sandbox mode where ya kinda hang around the fire house maybe play mini games like pool or air hockey, get to know the truck, ect until a call comes and even then the calls need to be dynamic with more than just fires. Car crashes, fires, medical emergencies. Maybe if modders got to this it would be more. It has potential but I think sandbox, dynamic with more mission variety and a modding community and it could be the LSPDFR of fire fighting
@@bigjoegaming9440 we always called it the fire house. I ran with liberty fire house for quite a few years and it clearly says on the building liberty fire house and has been named such since they before fire engines were a thing. They still have the horse and buggy preserved for historic tours.
I remember playing this one. It was hard. In the past several years alone, here in Northern California, wildfires costed hundreds of billions of dollars worth of damage and claim dozens of lives.
As a volunteer fire fighter myself I do know u can spend days or weeks at a huge wild fire like this one and they never use platform trucks for wild fires mainly use them for structure fires. For fighting wild fires we always fight them from the ground and usually use water bombers to help us
I turn off the fire indicators so i don’t know where to spray. I’m pretty sure it will grow back and restart. This would be a good multiplayer mission. AND.. I go to Lowe’s every time unless HD is the only one that has it.
I agree about it being too early for Christmas stuff to be on display already, as for home depot and Lowes I've always had a home depot around more then a Lowes so I use home depot they're also very veteran oriented and I support that 👍 🇺🇸
Coming from a contracting background. My wife is obsessed with menards and I am a home depot guy myself, I think home depot is geared more toward contractors, where as lowes and menards is geared more toward home owners.
I was working the park fire (maybe 4 or 5 trees and it is a night time fire) and they kept coming back over and over and it took over 30 minutes to get it out, so they definitely come back. But at the same time, the AI can be as useless as a screen door on a submarine.
To your question about Lowe's or home depot. Where I am there is no Lowe's. I have been to Lowe's a few times but very few and between because where I am yup none to be found. We have home depot or home hardware. Also happy wedding anniversary. Keep the great videos coming but don't wear yourself thin. Your personal life is just as important and we all know that.
Home Depot vs Lowes, Lowes only for me at least locally. About 8 years ago the local regional manager of Home Depot ordered all red, white and blue decorations be removed from all region stores during July 4th season as to not "offend" anyone. Since that happened I refuse to shop at any Home Depot stores in the region.
I feel like this was more of a wildfire mission and the correct approach should have been to dig a trench on the opposite side so as to prevent the spread further into the wilderness. But I know the game is limited with what you can do. Pretty cool graphics though and looks like a fun game
Not sure if it’s because of the DLSS cranked all the way or an odd quirk of your video recording software or something, but that fire is nearly blinding to look at.
I gotta say, Lowe's is definitely more inviting than the Orange place. I never thought I'd care but now that I'm almost 50 I look at every place that way now LOL
Honestly I think ots the colors. Blue is inviting and calming, red orange is fast paced wants you In and out. That's why fast food restaurants use red and oranges to get you out. Home depot is nice but lowes feels better. I'm always moving between both for better deals
Ik it's a firefighting simulator but in reality that we don't use aerial ladder trucks for wildland firefighting but we use them for structural protection and same way as tankers and engines but the only thing that is a post to use in wildland firefighting is brush trucks and Brush ATV plus handcrews
Jeff: I can’t enter the tower bucket. Me: boy this master stream sure did help from the bucket. Also me: dispatch please send more units, the whole place in engulfed.
I agree with you Jeff about the Christmas stuff being up to early i work in a grocery store here in Pennsylvania and we already have Christmas candy and stuff out already and it ain't even Halloween yet
Home depot is closer to where I live, but theres a lowes down the same road another 10 minutes. I end up going to home depot more often just cuz its closer, but i definetly prefer Lowes
Probably home Depot. They have tools for even automotive applications you can get like miluakee power tools. Im planning to get some of them for myself
To get into the basket on the trex you have to have the basket on the ground or in the default position on the truck to hop in. You can control the basket position while in the basket
I go to which ever is closer but I can see what you mean about home depot, I think home depot seems dark inside and the Lowe's is much lighter which it could be a mode thing
Been a firefighter of 10 years, I think I may have heard about 1 outcome from a fire, you never hear of how the fire started, the status of the victims (if there was any) Also MVA's you never hear about the victims that you helped.. Its sad as I wonder about a lot of people that we have helped especially the ones taken away in a chopper...
O God Jeff you hallarious when your voice acting skills . I laughed so hard 🤣 Part when the AI doesn't get burned but if was you yup would . Looking forward to watch American truck simulator. 🚚 👍
Congrats on the anniversary, my wife and mine is October 30th and we celebrate 12th anniversary this year. Prefer Lowe's over Home Depot as well and funny thing for some of the same reasons you mentioned.
Awesome vid as usual, btw the bucket have to be on the ground or still on the truck so you can use it and from there you can control the ladder movements, unfortunately you can’t climb the ladder to get in the bucket

"22, It's an inferno in here!" And I remember CivRyan waterboarding the victims. "Tell me who you work for!"

They definitely need a sandbox mode. Like having you sitting in the station waiting for a call would be nice. You could explore it and stuff

As long as there's no damage deaths or injuries it's a gorgeous and enormous bonfire
Lowes FTW. Congrats on the anniversary. Thanks for another awesome video, Jeff!
