Being visible and transgender isn't easy especially if your in the automotive industry but I am happy that my journey has been an amazing one to share. We gave up our rights to this one time documentary to help show others that you are not alone and things can improve given the right situation.

As i watch this I remember when I first fell in love. The feeling of love towards a person like Joey showing in this vid is how I remember that I did not fell for that person because of the physical appearance but what i felt at that moment. The moment I realize that I want to protect that person from being hurt and going through so much pain is when i realize that "I am truly inlove". I admire Joey for holding on even when she was hurting inside because of the transition, and slowly accepting it. I can't imagine myself questioning "am i not enough?" "what's wrong with me?" I won't say you are strong Joey cause this is not about how strong you are but how much YOU love Angie. You are truly the epitome of a LOVING WOMAN! Angie is so LUCKY to have You! And Angie, I admire you also for not Letting go such a loving woman who is ready to go to a fight ring and fight for you. I admire you cuz you are such a very down-to-earth person and such a loving spouse to Joey. Stay Together, Stay Inlove with each other and Keep Holding on! Can you imagine how much happiness our lives would be overflowing with if we could simply find those people that not just accepted us "as is", but also love every bit of us?
Angie seems to be a really kind-hearted person, loving and gentle soul. People will love her regardless of her

I’ve been married twice and haven’t had a tenth of the love between Joey and Angie. They are real and beautiful, their story brought tears to my eyes. I wish them a lifetime of happiness.

for starters, Angie came from a wealthy family. Her financial independence and stability helped her early trans days. Also, she had wonderful support from people around her. Her family, spouse and friends got her back. Angie's journey is quite rare in trans community.
Majority of trans do not have Angie's privileged background.
A trans from poor background usually suffers the most.
This docu is opening our eyes into the privilege life of Angie. Very rare indeed.

Angie's wife is an absolute gem in so many ways, Angie is blessed to have her.
I am also a biological woman married to a trans women. We were married as a man and woman. I don’t think I am an “absolute gem” because I am 100% supportive of the love of my life. But others have also said that of me too. I feel that it is normal to support whatever another person is or needs to be. We weren’t sure it would be the same between us…but we took life one day at a time. 32 years later we are still together and in love. It is like any marriage…give and take, but mostly I am with the person I love, and so is my spouse. My advise is to be kind to all people; trans, gay, straight, those with disabilities, or those who are beautiful and “seem” perfect. We are all the same, but are perfectly unique. ❤

I’ve watched this video two years ago when i started transitioning. Angie is my role model. She still is. Rewatching this video again after two years, my tear falls. They really have a beautiful love story.

My late and I were together for 49 years and she knew I was gay before we wed, but we knew we had something welding our hearts, others resisted and said it would not last but we had what you guys have there and it is a blessing. My heart breaks for Joey. When she was talking about Ian and how she missed the facial hair, you can see that she is mourning the loss of her "husband".
I could see that as well. She/he was a gorgeous male aesthetically speaking.
And the way she was compromising with him to wear a little manly clothes and the plan of secretly buying him a man's shirt, she still lives in the shadow of Ian's love. In other words Joey is in denial. She can only hang on while Joey finds her complementing his feminine side. In all ways in this vid Joey was trying hard to have a glimpse of Ian, trying to make sense of what's going on. If I were her, it's best to take and embrace the pain of separation right now than invest in this whatever you call it. Sooner or later, he will fall in love with another guy and she has to accept it. Lady I hope you'll find the courage to be brave and let go. Self pity is a phase but you need to let go.

The "concept" of transgender is something that I've never understood or even wanted to understand until I watched this program. Joey is one of the most incredible women I've ever seen. Real, loving, completely in touch with her emotions and her womanhood. To have your spouse transition has got to be incredibly difficult...and for two people to understand that marital love and commitment is about persevering through the darkest times is both rare and inspiring. They are beautiful.

His late wife was from the circle of my mom’s friends so going through with the relationship at first felt like disappointing my family and our family’s friends…
Add to that the fact that my bf’s late wife was one of the nicest and kindest people we know, whilst I, have been through a lot of rough roads and still proving to people that I have turned my life around for the better..

I stumbled across this today and my initial response was wow..... How amazing are you guys. I'm a LGBT (lesbian) I have many transgender friends. To be transparent as a lesbian in the lesbian community and being 55 years of age (old as fuck) it was difficult for me to wrap my head around this as well. in addition to the fact that the LGBT community struggles with acceptance. Watching this gave me such a new perspective. I am in awe of you and your wife. What a wonderful story of courage and determination. From a stranger's perspective watching you and how you went about your transition and your changing your life. People changed because of you! I saw someone who was not taking no for an answer and took charge of their life. Without saying it your confidence and self-awareness it's so refreshing. We live in a world now negativity and people trying to make you into something you're not. We are stranger's but I am inspired by you. I am happy you are sharing something so private and personal. Like it or not, whether you want to be or not, people will look up to you. It's not what you asked for, but with all it's difficulty and responsibilities, I am glad it's you. ♥️💯👍

I'm afraid I'd be weirded out, but I love that Joey is so accepting and Angie is staying instead of out looking for a man now that he's living as a woman. I love that they love each other enough to adjust their relationship and stay together in a loving relationship. I think it's mag that Angie is still into working on and driving cars. I think the hardest part of having a loved one transition is the realization that in a way your are loosing someone you love. Its like a grieving process, the person you love is no longer there. They look different sound different etc..in a way they no longer exist.BUT..with that being said I dont look at it as a negative situation but a positive. Not only do you get too know and love the person who has been in your life you get too also meet and learn too love the most authentic and true version of the the person you already knew.If you truly love someone and they feel you are important enough too bring on this journey with them, then they deserves all the support in the world.True love knows no bonds. Love doesn't have a Gender.

I don't know why this popped up in my recommendations but I am glad it did. Wow, I didn't know I needed to see this. Their story is so inspirational. Angie has amazing support. From her spouse, to her family, and her friends. It's great to see. Plus she looks like such a sweet person. Her wife Joey seems like a spitfire and it's probably a good thing that Angie has someone her in her corner. I think, a story like hers can definitely help someone who may yet be in the closet.

Karen, I wouldn't call it cynical but realistic. I find it unnatural for two people to be 'happy' for the whole life, it can't be done. we all change, some regress (men?) others advance, not always the women, there you got it, children if any can cause problems, I am lucky, have always been a loner / observerIn order to improve chances in a marriage, the woman has to give up her autonomy and be submissive to 'his majesty' A sane woman can/ must not lose herself this way. good luck
