Nice work. I had a blast restoring my 64. The drilled rubber tires were a carry over from 64 to early 65 until the stock ran out. The 2 piece plastic tires were cheaper and made the trucks a bit lighter.
Loved my Tonka trucks and diggers as a kid i remember sitting on them using them to go down hills etc, nice restoration personally i would of left the paint but if you used right kind of paint it will last another lifetime :)

The drilled tires are very rare I'd say. Was looking for one but couldn't find it at the time
