i was born and raised in Balikpapan, but i had to left this beautiful city 14 years ago, watching this video of you slowly walking down from PasirRdge to RukoBandar, listening to bird chirping, angkot and motoCycle passing by is something that i cant describe into words. Million of thanks to you for sharing this video to the world. you are awesome!!!
These Indonesian vids have been an eye-opener - looks genuinely interesting - and toward the end it almost felt like you were walking through peoples homes, was that intimate like.......tnx.......good work....:-)
I was in Balikpapan in 1966 with an oil tanker loading wax residual for Rotterdam. If I remember right the load had to be heated to about 40 degrades Celsius. At that time it was only two stone buildings in Balikpapan. In the bar was a hut and serwed the worst bier I have tasted, Star Beer Jakarta in large botles. Ther was no cars or motor cycles. Only one old GMC american army truck with worn tyres and what I remember, no roads, only paths.
You are one of the best UA-camrs that I like. You let people see the cities with no edit or anything. I feel like I am walking with you. I realy lucky found your channel. My English is bad, I am sorry for that.
Another exciting video Colijn. I lost you at the 1:10:27 mark after the mosque. Those little lanes and up the hill is where I do not know where I am. Did you end quite close to where you started? Fun walking with you. Join you on the next trip. Thanks again and take care. Daren

Thanks for your videos. they are quite interesting, but i think they would be even more fascinating if you turned occasionally (or often) to show us what's on the sides of the road, rather than seeing asphalt road, motorbikes and cars the whole time. the more often you can show us what's on your right and left sides, the more interesting it would be, since it is really what's on the sides that's interesting, not really the road itself. Either way, thank you
