This book is absolutely outstanding. I'm only a beginner and I'm not finding it too difficult (studying Classical so I have a little fingerstyle experience), so I would encourage others to try it. You definitely want to watch the online videos as you go. The instruction is very dense - not in the sense of being heavy or a slog, but in the sense that every word is thoughtfully and economically chosen. So pay attention carefully. The author has really put a lot of thought and effort into this book. A great instructor.
Thanks for the review(s) too. Really helpful, and knowing more about the offerings can save a lot of wasted time.

Another great review. I will get this one but not yet. I need to make more progress with Alfred's Fingerstyle beginner method. Thank you for filtering out to select the good stuff for us. Very curious about the ones coming next:) It is motivating to plan the road ahead

Thanks so much for commenting! I would definitely agree that you should focus on Alfred's Beginning Fingerstyle before spending too much time in Rivera's Fingerstyle Blues. However, if you are making progress and want to start incorporating some fingerstyle blues, you could start working on Chapter 1 of Fingerstyle Blues. It's not too hard (you'll be ok if you can play the Travis Picking Etudes in the Alfred book) and it would give you a fun tune to add to your practice routine. I tend to simultaneously work on multiple books, tunes, courses, and lessons. They are all a little different and keep me inspired from multiple different angles. Depends on how much time you have though.
