Oh boy, about almost 2 years since this vid (maybe) and I'm done with UG2. I have tried with both CD version of the game and crack version. Both give the same end result. I tried alternating between CPU cores 1 by 1, even doing 2 cores or even 4, but the same end result. If I do 1 core alone, the game runs like a brick and crashes due to running like a brick. If I give more cores then the game crashes because of not being well optimised for more cores and modern PCs. Seems like the only thing to do for me is to wait for that unreal engine remake of the game so I won't have problems with crashes then.

Being on newer systems especially Windows 10, it creates issues for old games and crashes are bound to happen. As for the mods, I think it more or less comes down to: - How decent are your computer specs? (texture mods or modernizing the game to today's standards can increase graphical power and your graphics card may not be keeping up (if it's an old one) or your CPU may not be keeping up with the rendering speed) - Windows 10 (unless you got an old computer that is closer to Windows XP, Windows 10 creates loads of problems for old games like files could be missing, the game isn't optimized for newer systems, etc.) - The mod(s) are not working properly and can crash the game - Go to the game's . exe file in the game's directory folder and right click to go to "properties". Well, first I would backup the save to somewhere where you'll find it (maybe make a folder on the desktop to hold the backup saves), and you could reinstall the game but I doubt it's a drive issue. Did you set the affinity to CPU 0 only after you have launched the game? You'll also need to do that every time you launch the game cause exiting the game resets it. Having more than one 1 CPU affinity checked (basically using multiple CPU cores) will crash the game. However, another reason for crashing at the car lot could be any car mods you have installed before. If you had installed car mods then doing a fresh reinstall could do the trick. When installing the game, I would just use the C drive (main Windows drive) even if it's an SSD. I have an NVMe boot drive and I have it installed there with no issues. You can try a different drive if you want to but HDDs will be slower when launching the game, when the loading screens come on, etc. Don't forget to backup your game saves. They will be found usually in the C Drive's Documents folder but you may also find them here -- C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\NFS Underground 2

CTRL+ALT+DEL takes you to a screen to let you go to the task manager, sign out, shut down the computer, etc, but Left CTRL + Left SHIFT + TAB + ESC opens up task manager immediately. Unless you don't exit the game, the checked boxes for the processors reset every time you exit out of a game, so unless you want to build a dual-core computer today (Intel Pentium or AMD Athlon), you'll need to do it each time.

The game wasn't optimized to work with newer OS's. It helps the game to not crash as much if you put the affinity to 1 or 0, but that said, every computer's different and the game is just too picky about not wanting to work 100% all the way through. Tried this on Windows 10 64 bit. the game crashes still
I'm on Windows 10 64 Bit and it's not crashing for me after I started doing this. What exactly did you do while trying to follow this video? By the way, you have to set the affinity to CPU 0 every time you launch the game if you didn't know.
@@JDGamez15 I have used the no cd crack & another fix at startup that i found here on youtube. I get to do one race & then the game crashes. I have a Affinity line in the startup of the game
@@Erik-jg9wd Okay then, it's most likely the no cd crack and stuff cause those generally don't work perfectly all the time. I have the game cds and it's working just fine so that's probably why. I'll try a no cd crack later and try it out myself.
@@JDGamez15 Ok i will try a reinstall without the no cd patch. Do you patch the game to version 1.2 ?
@@Erik-jg9wd It should be the latest patch when installed so it should be 1.2.
thanks, im enjoying the game
Cheers I REALLY HOPE this fixed it…. Anyways…. So you know though bro it’s CTRL+ALT+DEL(not ESC) but yeah thanks bro… I hope this fixed the issue…. So I need to do it on EVERY load up????
CTRL+ALT+DEL takes you to a screen to let you go to the task manager, sign out, shut down the computer, etc, but Left CTRL + Left SHIFT + TAB + ESC opens up task manager immediately.
Unless you don't exit the game, the checked boxes for the processors reset every time you exit out of a game, so unless you want to build a dual-core computer today (Intel Pentium or AMD Athlon), you'll need to do it each time.
i liked how you scrolled down to flex with 15 cpu's..
ty but useless. doesn't work. still crashing. do you think it might be due to cheat engine? or cheats on general? 'cause i used cheat engine for $$ coz u get paid like a peasant during the game and forced to drive 1 or 2 fully upgraded cars lol
The game wasn't optimized to work with newer OS's. It helps the game to not crash as much if you put the affinity to 1 or 0, but that said, every computer's different and the game is just too picky about not wanting to work 100% all the way through. It still crashes on my end but I use the CD's, not a CDCrack.
I used Cheat Engine before but you can also download gamesaves that has loads of money, unlocked stuff and you can even use a Profile Creator tool for NFS UG2 to start a career with your preferences including loads of money and starting with even a later unlocked car or even a PAL version car.
Thanks mate
No worries

It might sound like that but my microphone is to the side, not in front of me and I have speech issues so my speech isn't perfect.
