jimmy D Agreed.. One of the things that struck me was "this guy`s got cohones!" :D Good show.. I wonder what the thrust to weight ratio is. Doesn`t look like he`s having any trouble going from static to vertical pull anyway :)
each engine will run 4 to 6k each, airframe about 2,800 (prices in USD.) there's 1500 to 2000 just in Servo's in that plane. that plane is very close to if not above 14,000 USD. I have a AMA Turbine wavir and fly 3D jets my self but mine are single eninge setups that are much less complex and costly, my 3d jets run In the 5 to 7k range.
+jan christian Frodahl most 3D jets require at least a 1.5 thrust to weight ratio but close to a 2 to 1 is much better just due to the turbine lag.. most thrust quicker with a high T. 2 W. ratio that is more important then just sheer over power... we don't need but 1.5 but no one flys on that unless they can't afford or don't have engine bay space and can't carry the extra fuel a larger turbine needs. 1.5 will pull out of static no problem but the response is much slower then if you have a 2 to 1 or a little higher. once again it makes more thrust quicker so it feels less laggy and much more precise with a larger turbine... if you have never flew a turbine plane, think of a 3D gasser's lag times 10 and then you have a turbines spool up time.... that is the single hardest thing about 3D jets, if you are a good 3D pilot flying the jet is not hard at all they track much better then prop planes... but the spooling Times of turbines is cause for a lot of stick time to learn it well!

Yeah I`ve tried 3D and I`ve flown a few turbines, but that was over 10years ago, back then a JetCat p120 cost as much as this entire model!
I wouldn`t DREAM of trying 3D with a turbine back then because the trust to weight ratio was something like 0.5 to 1!
That`s basically what you need to keep it in the air lol.. :p
Good thing technology keeps getting cheaper so models like this are possible to build without being a millionaire hehe..
Being a Jet 3D pilot, do you have an estimate on the spool-up time from say, 20%-70%?
And what is your average thrust percentage when hovering a single engine 3D turbine model?

Really? I don't get it. If the gyros are there to help out on recovery, how do they allow it to leave the normal flight envelope to begin with. Wouldn't the try to maintain total stability at all times? I'm not being a smart ass, I seriously don't know.

lol u should watch real life su27 + 35 + 30 do all this crazy shit + there are aslo a video about su33 faild landing on carrier and at last sec the pilot pull the jet up like 90* crazy shit + egypt pilot fly mig 21 at 90* in dogfight with isreal mirage ( he was shot down few sec later why try to pull up he doing a loop to low but lucky for him the mig21 engine power are crazy that why he can do a 90* climb at 10m it like rocket the isreal pilot say when he see the egypt mig21 doing 90* climb at 10m alt )
