    Museum. Something that reminds me of the Matell M16 story, is SKS use in the Korean War. I have never been able to find a single picture of them during that conflict. A lot of articles on communist small arms say they were issued.

      That's a really good point. I think that goes along with the whole "I want it to be true, so it is." Fallacy we were discussing.

    Yeah modern academics started to shit on Sparta even more. telling people they where gay average noble dudes. it's the new thing. to my understanding they where not gay at all, beyond what was normal for the ancient times in Greece. for example being gay in Athens lost you all political rights to my knowledge. Spartans where primarily trained in hoplite warfare as there main thing, but would be closest thing i could imagine to a SAS at the time or a better comparison would be a medieval knight. of course i might be wrong but this is what my reading has lead me to believe.

    Historiography through the ages of topics/events is way too far overlooked.
