You are the first instructor to demonstrate the bind I’ve been using for years based solely off my own observations. I’ve never talked to another Tighthead who uses this type of L-arm leverage, but multiple bigger, younger, stronger Looseheads (and less technical and less “ornery”) have lost to it. When they’re 1-trick ponies at trying to get under my ribs and/or clavicle, they can basically kiss their afternoons goodbye. I “usher” them out, inviting them to swing their backsides wide in vain to get outside my shoulder, then slam into the now vacant gap they’ve left me, forcing the Hooker’s head down, and giving the Locks noogies. It’s the best use of a Saturday ever. Going up against guys with either combos, or deeper tool boxes, is the absolute best, and makes my beer taste better (Cheers to those lad!!) Thank you for showing this!!
@@lapto4676 The first thing I’ll say is talk to as many older Tightheads, and ask them what drives them crazy. Honestly, that will build a deep tool kit for dismantling any and all scrums. Also, practice some TH yourself as it will give you a lot of insight. The point being that you want to be able to attack from any angle, at any time, and keep your opposite guessing. The best guys I’ve gone against made it a chess match within the larger game. If a guy’s got talent at TH you can’t always try to get “around” him to bore him in. Sometimes you gotta just drive his right should up, or straight back (think extending your left-outside arm). Then, in a scrum of two later, work to get under his chest. There’s even different engage positions with the Hooker (you being tucked into his arm pit is one) that good guys learn how to hide until the crouch. HTH.
My neighbour's been pushing me to get into playing union, I have a background with gridiron playing right guard and centre. Your videos are really helping the duties of a prop click for me. Big ups
Elements of Shaolin in this as the smallest movement makes the bigger force. The use of hip to chest positioning as with judo. McDowell of NZ a Judo black Belt used such techniques

I'm doing U14s loosehead prop, any ideas on how to stop this from happening?
