Here's where i'm at on K Mac vs Holani. If something happens to one of our two starting RB's who do you want running the ball in there place K Mac or Holani and it's pretty clear at this point Kenny is the better runner and i don't think it's that close. Second Holani is far more likely to clear waivers. Finally in that scenario Walker or Zack is RB 1 and K Mac is RB 2 with Holani elevated off the practice squad to be the third down back.
So we'll see i do think it's interesting that K Mac is getting these carries over Holani it's one of two things they don't want Holani to get hurt and that doesn't make sense they need to see what he can do in these preseason games or they have K Mac as the 3rd string RB. Were going to find out imo K Mac is the better player with the ball in his hands and it really hasn't been close.
That said maybe they do value blitz pickups more than carrying the rock and if that's the case K Mac is probably gone if we don't keep 4. I'll add one final thing i don't have the luxury of seeing these guys at training camp so all i can do is evaluate on what i've seen in these first two games and without that context it could be that Holani is better than i'm giving him credit for running the ball. I trust the coaches but there not infallible it would be unfortunate to see a repeat of Ahman Green not saying that will happen but i'd rather not take the chance putting Kenny through waivers.

Usually keep 4 RB's on the active roster.

I liked that smile on Mike's face when he was talking about Knight. That might have been the closest thing to a glowing endorsement he's ever given.

There were people like me who were very high on Tyrice Knight pre-draft. Why? Saw him being brought in for a team visit, did my research on him and was in impressed. Us not picking him would have been somewhat of a surprise.

Knight is a beast. I have no issues starting him next to Dodson. I was concerned we missed on a LB with no 2nd round pick. We found a 2nd round LB in the 4th.

Maybe Ryan Grubb and the coaching staff ran the ball to the left side more late in the game to see what they have in those guys blocking? They are probably happy with what they have seen out of Jerell and O'Neill so far and needed to get a closer look at the other guys. After all this is the evaluating phase of the season. Just a thought. Great show Brian thank you.

I was worried we missed out on a LB with no 2nd round pick. We got a 2nd round LB in the 4th. We also got an early 2nd round pick in the 3rd.

Sam's accuracy is still a little inconsistent, but he mostly looked a little better. Accuracy is a very very important statistic, though. Before we start crowning him Geno's successor, we need to see his accuracy get more consistent.

Since the preseason as a series of evaluations, I don’t usually get upset with any of the seemingly strange personnel combinations or odd scheme choices. While it would be great to win all your preseason games, I think it’s more important to test your theories and be sure that someone is a good fit for the scheme or not.
So the OC may have some runs to a certain side of line drawn up specifically to test those linemen who might be on the bubble in order to have that final eval for fit. In this case - if that was the case, it sounds like Forsythe may not make the cut.

I actually want Haynes at LG. I think its better long term. And maybe even later this season because I dont think Haynes is that far away from Laken. If all goes well I dont think we would bring back both C. Williams and Laken, especially with out cap situation next offseason. But if we start a Cross- Haynes- Williams - Bradford - Lucas, barring major injury and assuming we re-sign Williams all of them would be back next season as well and continuity is one of the most important things for O line.

Sam seems to start slow and gets better hoping he can start out faster and be more consistent. He looks good sometimes so there's hope. Can't wait to see all the ones on both sides of the ball. Plus can't wait to see both schemes unleashed..... Go Hawks 🏈 💙 💚

Geno isn't SIGNIFICANTLY ahead. Howell needs to improve his DECISION MAKING. That's correctable. Sam's innate talent with his arm, his toughness, his moxie his scrambling ability. Howell is way better than Lock. He's 23 yo!! Heck, Peyton Manning led yes led the NFL in most picks his rookie year with 28!! It takes time. Seattle fans need to know what to look for in QB talent.

Love the Hawks but most overrated player is Zach Charbonnet. Somebody SHOW me what he excels at? Vision average, speed average, elusiveness average. I hope Kenny moves into #2! Why am I not impressed with Zach. Sorry to point out the 1 negative but it's how much I want McIntosh to jump Zach on the depth chart. I wouldn't mind trading Zach.

Zac is slightly faster than mac, nearly as explosive testing as K9, had more yards from scrimmage in two years at UCLA then k9 had in college, more then kenny mac had in 4 years at Georgia, more tds in those two years then mac had in four. Better yards per carry at UCLA than k9, better than mac. He's better at pass protection according to coaches and a few media people.

@@RealHawkTalk Holani has much better blocking so if the coaches want the third back specifically for that skill set then totally agree! I just think it’s pretty evident stats wise and now on film from yesterday, that Kmac is the better runner. Sneaky explosive. Either way, don’t get it twisted that I respect your takes! Still my fav Hawks content, just giving you 💩 lol
