Another amazing video. I think the gear on the wheel on that 1995 tomy Percy is broken. Also, I have to say, these used items looked like they've had a lot of playtime. And that 56:23, I've gotten that before when I was little. Also, I believe that this video has to be the most ultimate video yet.

So i know why the thomas fans were so happy with the old tomy and trackmaster engines, they were so detailed, they worked well and they were so special. Im glad kids played alot with the tomy models, i remember having a tomy thomas set, put i was young so i didnt know how to play with it, many pepole love this merchandise, i also feel happy of the creation of tomy, even old trackmaster deserves to be played because they haved detail like the tomy models. put today that happyness is gone, mattel change the looks of the old trackmaster and now they look undetailed, and they dont paint the buffers to them, that happened to take n play too, the fans have been complaining saying its not how they suppose to look like. Seeing the things that tomy and trackmaster makes pepole happy, put when pepole see what has mattel done to the merchandise, pepole is not happy, they get sad, mattel has also made other thomas merchandise that didnt look good Seeing the video made me happy of the models that tomy did, Mattel needs to stop ruining trackmaster and take n play because if they dont, all the Thomas fans will be mad and sad
I'm still looking for the youtuber who has the other parts to the TOMY set seen in this video, Ucwepn was not the youtuber who was sent these parts. It's turning into a Thomas & Friends mystery and I would like to have these new parts being sent to the rest of an incomplete TOMY playset
I have to say Duck's one of my personal favorite characters, right next to Donald and Douglas. It's quite a shame HiT has been phasing a lot of the older side characters out. I don't think I've seen Henry in a serious episode for quite a while. Most episodes I see with him have him being afraid of something, or just not working properly. Makes you miss the old days when the models were still around.
20:40 That is a very interesting Thomas, mainly because of the fact that his coupling rods are actually accurate to the show and move correctly, unlike most Thomas toys I've seen.
Well this was quite a blast from the past for me. Ohh how I wish I could've collected all that Tomy Thomas Stuff back in the day.. wish I wasn't so broke! I could use abit of Tomy Train stuff in my life.
Trainboy7 The TOMY blue track system is amazing if you have all the tricky bits and bobs. It's classic toy stuff that is not seen in any of todays toys. I must do the vidoe of my Ultimate Thomas TOMY set I bought back in 2006, it was the best $150 I ever spent on Thomas stuff and it's a HUGE playset which has you wanting for nothing more...and that was the problem with that sort of set.
Wow it has been 6 years since this video was uploaded. I remember when this video was first uploaded, I watched through the entire thing in one siting. I miss the old leo and they way he used to do things but coppa unfortunately had to put an end to the amazing thomas saga. This video feel so nostalgic.
And before anyone asks this is my new UA-cam account. I had an old one that I watched this on. The original accounts email got deleted on accident by me. So yeah
leokimvideo Hey Leo nah sorry mate it wasn't I. Hope you find the person though :) breaks my heart seeing them drop on the floor lol at least you have rubber mats which probably saved them.
This video has made me want to go and dig up my many years worth of TOMY merchandise. For the umpteenth time, thanks again Leo! Also, the conveyor belt, brown balls, and the rolling truck, as well as some of the other things you showed around 54:00 comes from this one specific playset. That playset was a quarry playset. It went with the old blue track system, and it was one of those sets where you'd have an engine run up to it, stop and run over this motorized track piece that was the base of the set, the brown balls would go down a spiral that was similar to the one you showed near the end, and would fall into that one truck that has the moving body.
Meerak Kanoul My advice to anyone with the classic TOMY train sets with no missing parts is to look after it. I think it's the collectors gold of the future.
SO much TOMY!! Love it! I did kill my James the same way as most (broke the cables), and my bridge also had the gates destroyed. However that free-wheeling thing will be sorely missed... Love how despite the TOMY track being blue, I never questioned its realism, until the classic trackmaster... but Trackmaster 2 makes we wish for the classic stuff again... As a science experiment I tried to test the difference in performance with Duck having a C or AA battery (little did I realise that they are both 1.5V), but it always perplexed me that they used different sized batteries (and more $$ at that! Still better than 2 AAs though!) Do the balls not go with a Big Loader...?
***** What I tended to notice was the old TOMY that used the C cell battery needed the weight, these trains seemed to have better traction and performance with that battery weight. Anyway 9 times out of 10 I used AA batteries in the C area, I think thats what many people did.
***** i know how to fix the tomy/erly trackmaster take them apart if you have a spare troblesom truck or something put the back coupling and put on the pegs on the back of the runingbord put it back together and whala you got a non wired tender engine
Amazing Thomas haul Leo! Can't wait for episode 13. That Merit Thomas caught my attention in this video. I really like how they put in the extra detail of adding the coupling rods on the wheels. I think it enhances the model a lot and just makes it even more fun to look at and play with. I think if they somewhat merged the awesome rolling stock, faces and custom trains from tomy and the strength, quietness and performance of TrackMaster 2...it would be a definate winner. Overall I like Tomy but I prefer TM2 just because of the performance and tracks. :)
I personally prefer the old Tomy system but I can see why the Trackmaster 2 system was designed. Kids are going to want more action than realistic set-ups and these toys are supposed to be designed for kids. There is just a certain charm about that blue track that gets me.
I have some of the stuff that was in the box at around 59:30. Let me just say this, they are sort of HARD to come by. A lucky find. Nice review! Can't wait for episode 13. By the way you sent the pieces to Ucwepn.
TankEngineThomas Are you sure I sent the playset parts to Ucwepn? I don't keep address details and I can't rememeber back to what was going on in 2012. I know he lives here in Oz, but I can't even remember sending the items away. I wonder if he showed them on his channel? OMG my mind has had it. Anyway thanks for having a memory
leokimvideo I can ask in the TTTC facebook group (Thomas the tank collectables) someone there will probably know. Should come check it out, make a secret account haha.
Guess who's again late to the party! Anyway, some of the bits and bobs left unmatched towards the end of the video, including the conveyor belt, "mouse trap" piece, and little balls, belong to a TOMY destination in which the balls would be sent up the conveyor, down the curvy piece, and into the trucks of the waiting train. I hope this helped you. :) Also, thanks for the continuous great content.
Excellent video Leo, some really nice items in that lot. I love the Merit range and actually have that Thomas, Annie and Clarabel still boxed. I seem to remember it is from the mid to late 1980s. Sorry I can't be more specific. After collecting TOMY for a number of years I know exactly what you mean about the leaking batteries and build up of fluff, I have come across those problems so many times.
27:50 Tomy Thomas Trains in this video Thomas with Annie and Clarabel (1992) 2x James with Cattle Truck and Brakevan (1994) Percy with Mail Truck and Fuel Tanker (1995) Toby with Henrietta and Troublesome Truck (1996) Duck with S.C. Ruffey and Toad (1996) Diesel with Milk and Fuel Tanker (1996) Mavis with Breakdown Train (1999) Molly with Green Truck (2005)
I have those classic trucks, I actually took them apart and used their faces for my OO scale trucks and took the electronics out in the hopes of implementing them into the buffers to make them have that sound whenever they are bumped. a Project that is still in my work draws but I agree, those classic trucks capture their personalities perfectly =)
PokelordEX Nice idea using those classic TT faces on other trains, it's sad how the new toys have lost the T&F mojo that's all so important to those who look at this stuff really closely.
I actually think it's unusual to say "The Trackmaster 2 version of Toby is the most accurate version of Toby" He actually sports more detail that is missing on Trackmaster 1 and the TOMY one
I love reviews like this. Can't wait for the next! :D I have a Clarabel Merit with a missing roof, but no Thomas or Annie! Although I swear it has gone for more than a buck before... :P
This is definitely another video that is massively long, but astonishing in many ways. 30:08-30:34 I have that same problem with a 1997 Toby. Also, at 31:28, Duck was working because most C battery engines can use an AA battery instead. :)
This reminds me of when my Nonno used to come home from upstate new york and bring me thomas playsets so thank you, he died of stage 4 cancer in June :( I went to his funeral on my birthday too :(
I love long videos! Well done! I have got a Wooden Lights and Sounds Thomas. The Wooden James has written TOMY underneath because in 2011-2012 TOMY produced the Thomas Wooden Trains, then Fisher Price took over. James isn't of 2003 because it's got the CGI face. Hello Percy! Hello Thomas! Check out Thomas reminds me of the Take N Play design. The buffers are TOMY. They're very nice. I agree: the corrosion is terrible. Haha Toby killed Duck! :) The TOMY Thomas with the white running board it's a Plarail one. In fact all the Plarail trains have got white running boards. They are more detailed versions of the TOMY ones. Those TOMY pieces belong to the Sodor Quarry Loader
So the fluff comes from the carpet? I never knew that.... and I always remember getting my hair stuck in my trains when I played with them as a kid....aaahhh memories
The balls, conveyor, the side dump car (55:16) and the pile of parts are from the tomy/thomas quarry set, it looks like your only missing the tan base and the V-dump car shown at 45:27 is the proper car for the set shown on the cardboard. Funny enough I sold most of my tomy track/destinations on eBay; the curves (what I assumed to be the most useless parts) went for around $60 US dollars (for a lot of 40ish) and a HUGE (35 pieces of the long straights) lot of straight track only sold for $20 dollars (with a few listing repeats needed). The quarry set I mentioned earlier went for about $25. Those matchbox trains always find their way into the collection videos it seems
intermodalman123 I have a feeling those matchbox trains are VERY common, and don't pull any value on e-bay unless it's auctions that are being self bidded on..sadly there is loads of this activity on e-bay
leokimvideo They are indeed, I just now relooked at the prices and was surprised at how low the prices had gone. A few years ago they certainly weren't a gold mine but they could give you a fair bit of pocket change. As a buyer and a seller I understand why sellers insert bids but its still not proper business, (I NEVER take part in it). I just had one of my auctions end at $1.80 from a $0.99 start ($0.99's are a gamble as your at the complete mercy of the market but it can pay off big time), now if my shipping calculator malfunctions (which it usually does) I not only do I loose money I loose the actual item also. Ebay used to allow sellers to tack on handling costs to cover any discrepancys but this feature has been removed which only encourages sellers to play with the bids. with any investment there are risks of loosing money, a good seller realizes this and lets the chips fall where they may
the set is called thomas and the timber yard. its my favorite set from when i was a kid. The special car u put behind the troublesome truck with the "M" was not the correct one, you must swap it with the other one that looks like it. When completed thomas and terrence go on a loop exchanging the wooden logs, its quite awesome. And the balls, conveyor belt, and the "mouse trap" pieces come from a set where a motor goes around a track and would exchange automatically between a thomas, percy and terrence shell, as all 3 brought the balls to eachother around the set.
First thing i see: new collection episode! Grabbed popcorn and enjoyed all of it! :) its really sad that toys from today dont have all these features or details on them, they are like dead ones and the old ones have their own soul! All these toys from this era remind me of my childhood when i was seeing these in stores and beleve me i miss these times... I have a technique of cleaning trackmasters or other trains from fluff and hair, cant wait to see your method!! Waiting for episode 13!! Good luck Leo and thans for the amaizing videos! Regards!
The first harold you showed was from a fun playset I remember from when I was small. I forget the name, but I do remember that it came with an orange track, about four mini scaled engines wit two metal roller wheels on the bottom (think of those Pixar Cars Drifter toys), and the elevator mechanism that brought up the trains from the bottom of the track to the top also provided rotation power to a little plastic stick, where that Harold plugged in and he spun around on a fixed axis as the motor ran.
Leo, those magnetic pieces of bricks and the one next to it are probably from the take n play style of Bob the builder. Bob the builder's trucks were made in the same style as the take n play Thomas and sold back in the day. Some trucks came with magnetic pieces like a pile of bricks, cement, dirt, ect. Something to keep in mind that Bob and Thomas were licensed under Hit ent. so the take n play/along Thomas and Bob toys are related.
Pupepepets I have a fair bit of Bob The Builder toys building up, but there seems to be some dark side stuff as well. Put it this way some of the larger toys have no licensing details on them at all. Bob was pretty big back in the good old days, his franchise has really cooled off lately.
I learned about the battery leaking from these videos. I removed all the batteries from all my engines, and thankfully only 4 had any battery leakage; Bill, Spencer, Bulgy and Mighty Mac's Coach. I was able to fix 3 out of 4, and I was only able to fix Spencer through a motor swap with an extra Salty I had (which I poorly painted into Derek, I hated the result). The Coach was completely irredeemable, acid had seeped through the bottom. Now I gotta buy a new one, and I can't find any results for it on eBay, so I probably screwed myself... But at least it wasn't to any of the rarer ones like Lady or Billy.
If you look at Lady Hatt (2:24) and Harold (3:07), the production codes at the back/bottom tells you what day (third first numbers) of what year (fourth number) that particular copy was produced. This was something Learning Curve started doing after the Lead Paint Crisis to be able to keep track of which item should be included in possible recalls. The last four symbols in the production codes indicate in which factory the toy was produced. All items that do not have these production codes were released before the Lead Paint Crisis, most of them between 2003 when LC stopped updating the wheels, and 2006. If you were to make a video analyzing some of the items in your collection, I believe you would find a lot of interesting information based on these production codes :-) NOTE: Even though some items were introduced earlier, these codes only refer to when a specific copy was made.
BTW Leo, the logs at 53:22 are from the TOMY train set which is on the piece of cardboard that was on the top of the box, these logs were also used with the wagon you said tipped side to side.
Lettuce Trains Also the log piles and barrels were in that same playset and were placed into an open wagon that was grey (my friend had one of these sets that was fully functioning and complete)
Oh, and I do believe the lead scare was 2003-2004, around and in that timeframe. I remember all too well the warning posters on the toys r us auto-sliding doors telling me to return my precious toy trains. I was quite worried, silly me, but my dad let me keep them.
Your Wooden Railway Molly can't be from 2003, as Molly wasn't introduced until 2005 in the TV Series and Wooden Railway respectively. I wonder why she's dated as such...
30:25 I’ve had that problem with many of my classic trackmaster trains. I think the problem is the plastic gear has lost its connection to the axel. I tried putting some glue on it but it only held for a few weeks. Haven’t had time to try fixing it again.
I got this Thomas from a Japanese second hand store, and it had some fluff in the drive axle, but it doesn't stop him from working. It works fine, but I managed to clean it up.
The tophatt and lady hat were from a classic TWR item from 1996 (I think ) to 2001 called the Mountain Tunnel set and in it;s last year of being on shelf's it what re named the Thomas class room activity set and the only change was the single stone bridge was replaced by a barel loader and car.
That set at the end! Oh my god! I remember that so well! I remember having that set! This is why I love you Leo. Seeing all this stuff is so nostalgic! Keep it up man, and try and find the name of the set with the Terrence!
I've seen those Tomy buffer-stops before. I wish I'd found them when they were in the stores. They worked with Tomy, they could be used with or on Wooden track or HO track.. and they just looked good. Much better to those weird stops we get with the new Trackmaster sets. Forget the disproportionate new Trackmaster Engines, all I want are these buffers back :p That Merit Thomas is rather interesting. I wonder why the roofs come off the coaches?
I have one of those wood-face sir Topham Hatts, and it's part of the wooden railway system. The conveyor belt, little balls, and those other pieces were on an ore loader made my TOMY. I hope that helps.
Great video Leo! I remember seeing that full playset in the shops, funny how you got the rest of it years later! At the very end when you open that shoebox and show the stuff inside, I used to have them! The mini trains and green boxes with the tracks on! they where great.
leokimvideo the reason many of your wooden trains say 2003 on the wheel base is because when thomas switched owners in 2003 the new owners decided to keep 2003 on the wheelbase. This continued at least until 2009
Brings back memories watching this

Mattel is too blind. And I heard better comebacks from the fans and the TCC. Tell Mattel to get a life!

PokelordEX Nice idea using those classic TT faces on other trains, it's sad how the new toys have lost the T&F mojo that's all so important to those who look at this stuff really closely.
Q
Out of all the engines I have my sister would play with Percy the most.

I actually think it's unusual to say "The Trackmaster 2 version of Toby is the most accurate version of Toby"
He actually sports more detail that is missing on Trackmaster 1 and the TOMY one

I love your vids!!!!!!😀😀😀😀

i think this is my fav video from this channel :P

Whittier Kt Carpets are a gold mine for bad things, Even though they seem clean there is always nasty stuff lurking around
yuck, makes me want to get rid of all the carpet in my house
Whittier Kt I don't think a carpet is ever clean, I'll be honest here having a timber or tile floor is a far cleaner solution.
Man, Leo you have a wonderful and mysterious thomas and friends toys. I wish I could have these of yours
Same here same here
5 years later i found this video i loved so much as a kid.

Regards!
I have the same diesel as you in this review. I've had it ever since I was born

My favourite collection video that you've done
I’m almost 20 years old and I can definitely say I have vast amounts of nostalgia for these toys
Nice vid

I feel like i watched a live event! :P
Awesome video
The first harold you showed was from a fun playset I remember from when I was small. I forget the name, but I do remember that it came with an orange track, about four mini scaled engines wit two metal roller wheels on the bottom (think of those Pixar Cars Drifter toys), and the elevator mechanism that brought up the trains from the bottom of the track to the top also provided rotation power to a little plastic stick, where that Harold plugged in and he spun around on a fixed axis as the motor ran.
Just did a bit of online research, and found out that the name of the playset was "Race on the Rails".
Im getting Jealous for Leo gets some bunch of
TOMY Thomas Goods!
Me too
I have a few rolling stocks
Me three
I keep coming back to this video because the Tomy part. I'm addicted to Tomy 😁🙃
The Sir Topham and Lady Hatt are Wooden Railway.
4Corry Thanks, are these styles of toys still available?
leokimvideo No.
4Corry sad to hear that, anyway thanks for your info here, the TWR is not my strong card
leokimvideo The junk logs belong to the Thomas and Terrence playset.
jay ayden what?
Wow Leo a really long video.excited!
Lights and sounds Percy is 2007 and wooden Molly and troublesome trucks are 2006
Hey leo thank you for finding plarail thomas
I used to have one of those take along play mats! That exact style, too... I have no idea where it is now, though...
Mike G I love Thomas

Lettuce Trains Also the log piles and barrels were in that same playset and were placed into an open wagon that was grey
(my friend had one of these sets that was fully functioning and complete)
I’m so jealous

Oh, and I do believe the lead scare was 2003-2004, around and in that timeframe. I remember all too well the warning posters on the toys r us auto-sliding doors telling me to return my precious toy trains. I was quite worried, silly me, but my dad let me keep them.
Your Wooden Railway Molly can't be from 2003, as Molly wasn't introduced until 2005 in the TV Series and Wooden Railway respectively. I wonder why she's dated as such...
The date cant alwaoys be right
They presumably used the same molds on the wheels for the models that were made in 2003, Molly's big wheels probably came from Emily or Fergus
@@SkyMelon-wc1fx it is the copyright date.
Who knows?
I’m a Thomas the tank engine fan I love it
30:25 I’ve had that problem with many of my classic trackmaster trains. I think the problem is the plastic gear has lost its connection to the axel.
I tried putting some glue on it but it only held for a few weeks. Haven’t had time to try fixing it again.

Ooh yay next episode is going to be about the ERTL miniature Thomas range, something of which you had either Annie or Clarabel a while ago.
I got this Thomas from a Japanese second hand store, and it had some fluff in the drive axle, but it doesn't stop him from working. It works fine, but I managed to clean it up.
30:18: My classic Thomas hardly works - just like that Percy of yours!

I wish I had those tomy and take and play / take along engines right now
I surely want the TOMY and Merit Stuff and the Pieces that go with it
Xil iuiloujkui
I Like That 1992 Tomy Thomas and the White Running Boards
I've seen those Tomy buffer-stops before. I wish I'd found them when they were in the stores. They worked with Tomy, they could be used with or on Wooden track or HO track.. and they just looked good. Much better to those weird stops we get with the new Trackmaster sets.
Forget the disproportionate new Trackmaster Engines, all I want are these buffers back :p
That Merit Thomas is rather interesting. I wonder why the roofs come off the coaches?
I have one of those wood-face sir Topham Hatts, and it's part of the wooden railway system. The conveyor belt, little balls, and those other pieces were on an ore loader made my TOMY. I hope that helps.
Your tomy Toby acts like my broken Stanley looks in mint condition but the battery thing is like that and now my Stanley is broken😩😩😩
Nice Percy
Great video Leo! I remember seeing that full playset in the shops, funny how you got the rest of it years later! At the very end when you open that shoebox and show the stuff inside, I used to have them! The mini trains and green boxes with the tracks on! they where great.
I’ve got loads of Thomas stuff I’ve got TrackMaster, Wooden Railway, Take Along, Take N Play, 2013 TrackMaster, and Adventures, and some TOMY!
leokimvideo the reason many of your wooden trains say 2003 on the wheel base is because when thomas switched owners in 2003 the new owners decided to keep 2003 on the wheelbase. This continued at least until 2009
Nice name
30:36 Percy isn't for scrap. Maybe you can fix him and find the problem. You are great Leo.
Toby pushing Duck off the tracks and off the edge reminded me of Tobias and the half pariah
Thomas is one of my Favorite characters
The balls go with a quarry set much like the Timber Yard set. That's also where the conveyer and other pieces.
I agree on the roofs. I was young back then but I remember that my take n play trains had that same print
Do u like Duck?

The lead paint scare was 2005 - 2007, that Wooden James is from 2011, and his face creeps me out.
