Good finds, when I was a kid, I got the little chefs express for 5$, complete in box in a Lawndale in new Brunswick while we were on vacation, I was so happy, it was my very first steam engine, and it worked perfectly, never liked the cars much but as I have been collecting, I realised these really are different and kinda fun, nice small lot you got there, might go to the show someday, debating weather to go to the one in Ontario instead, it might be even better, never been though
Good old days it seems. Have you seen that some people sells the mini chefs set 400$ new in box (looked to complete mine)! I am looking for the locomotive and missing yellow car to do a video on them. Thanks for sharing and for your nice comment!
That's great. Here in Canada, there is very few places where it is possible to be a volunteer for heritage railway. The closest to me is the train museum at Saint-Constant "Expo-Rail" but It is quite a ride from home.
I actually had some Lionel post WWII aluminium tubular tracks but they are quite worn out. . Like I said in the video, I was able to secure a sizable amount of modern tracks with integrated plastic roadbed for 70-75 $CAD. The same seller offered me a MTH rail king power supply for 100$ but I declined at that point as I already had a modern one.
