Rammstein’s keyboardist Christian “Flake”Lorenz.. is known for the unusual dance he would do when Weißes Fleisch was performed live. Also, there are unofficial recorded lives of this song, where it is extended with instrumentals and it lasts almost 9 minutes. It was played like this only at the beginning of 1996.

Weißes Fleisch is about assault and rape. Till Lindemann once said in an interview that he received a letter from a girl who was raped thanking him for making the song.
"'She wrote that she could identify with the song, that was also in the index for a short while. I spoke about rape while she couldn’t. She had grown up with the idea that she had to keep that period from her youth a secret, and couldn’t tell anyone. Through my song, she understood she could talk about it. She was so grateful I had written that song. I still don’t understand what people get so excited about.'"
    Till Lindemann

This song is about rape and assault.
"My sick existence cries for redemption"
"Now you're afraid and I'm ready"
"My father was exactly like me"

I used to have a different perspective about this song but then at one time I was told which I’m not sure of that it’s actually about sexual assault and apparently Till Lindemann once claimed that he was approached by a survivor who was able to make peace with her traumatic experience and move on upon listening to this song

hi, nice reaction as always. apparently one girl who was raped once wrote Till and said that she's more open to talk about it because of this song and it helped her to kinda move on. one another song i can totally recommend is Wiener Blut (Viennesse Blood), which is again about very famous case in Austria (Josef Fritzl case), i guess you know what it is about, but last time checked that out without subtitles, i highly recommend to watch it with subtitles, because Till again wasn't shy, he made it pretty graphic but true at the same time. have a nice day❤

MSG Live version of Wiener Blut, I think the channel Educated Marine has done this one with english subtitles (plus some info), I think it's that channel anyway.

The song also was credited by American journalists as one of the influences behind the Columbine High School massacre due to the opening words of the song(“You, in the schoolyard, me, ready to kill”)and that Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were Rammstein fans. In response, the band issued this statement:
“The members of Rammstein express their condolences and sympathy to all affected by the recent tragic events in Denver. They wish to make it clear that they have no lyrical content or political beliefs that could have possibly influenced such behavior. Additionally, members of Rammstein have children of their own, in whom they continually strive to instill healthy and non-violent values.”

funny and pitiful! Americans are overwhelmed with weapons, and they blame some song for the problem.

By the way: Till once said ....... I'm not broken, the world is broken and my songs are a reflection of that

My reading has always been the song being similar in topic to "Hallomann", if you know what I mean.

based on a true story about abuse. Till asked the victim if he could make a song about it and she agreed and said she was happy with the result.

Remembers me of „Wiener Blut“. I think they asked the victim too and she agreed.

I think its meant to be taken more generally. When I was a kid I actually thought this song was about a school shooter, lol. I suppose some of the lyrics still apply to such a case.
Idk if the cannibal guy fits here, what they did was consensual. However, I gotta say, being Romanian, this song automatically makes me think of the Ion Râmaru case.
It can also be about, generally speaking, violence and predatory behaviour, not necessarily sexual. Song gives me Blood Meridian vibes.

    WHITE FLESH
You in the school yard, I’m ready to kill
And no one here knows of my loneliness
    Red stripes on white skin
I hurt you and you whine loudly
Now you’re scared and I’m ready
My black blood spoils your dress
Your white flesh excites me so (flesh, flesh, flesh, flesh)
    I’m just a gigolo ( flesh, flesh, flesh. )
Your white flesh enlightens me (flesh, flesh, flesh, flesh)
    You, in the schoolyard
    I am ready to kill
    and no one here knows
    of my loneliness
    Red welts on white skin
    I hurt you
    and you cry loudly
Now you are scared and I am ready
my black blood soils your dress
Your white flesh excites me so
    I am just a gigolo
    your white flesh enlightens me
My black blood and your white flesh
I will always become hornier from your screams
the cold sweat on your white forehead
    hails into my sick brain
Your white flesh excites me so
    I am just a gigolo
my father was exactly like me
    your white flesh enlightens me
Now you are scared and I am ready
my sick existence cries for redemption
your white flesh becomes my scaffold*
in my heaven there is no god
Your white flesh excites me so
    I am just a gigolo
    your white flesh enlightens me
my father was exactly like me
your white flesh excites me so
I am just a sad gigolo
    your white flesh enlightens me

I would really like you to react to the earliest versions of the song, for example this one: ua-cam.com/video/ZlXLybJtxX8/v-deo.html
    (well, or "live aus Berlin")
So much energy! But not too good quality and no subtitles, unfortunately.

"White flesh" and "black blood" here represent innocence and depravity.
The Columbine College rampage killers had used this song for their racist mindset.
Local politicians immediately took advantage of this to dismiss all blame and point the finger at the "depraved music." Rammstein even felt compelled to make a statement.

    Wasn’t Dahmer about black flesh…?

    • @KrisTheKrisMan
      @KrisTheKrisMan 2 роки тому

Yeah Dahmer isn’t really related to this song at all but with all the traction the show is getting it appears that everyone has him on their minds so I guess he just heard the hype and watched it which made him make links between the show and the song even though there isn’t really much linking them.
