There's another one less busy in place Monge, it's called la pharmacie Monge. You're welcome :)
Yes I've heard of Pharmacie Monge but haven't made it out there on all my trips to Paris! Next time 😉 x
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DONT GO THERE OMG WHY IS EVERYONE COMING HERE TO BUY THEIR STUFF THERE ARE PHARMACIES LITERALLY ANYWHERE IN FRANCE CANT GO OUT TO BUY MY THINGS WHEN I ACTUALLY NEED THEM BECAUE OF TOURISTS AAAAAAAA
@@dayofthelords8371 hahaha I did hesitate to write my comment, but this particular pharmacy is especially crowded with South East Asians (Koreans, Chinese) so I might as well give the tip to people who are watching Matilda's video, I am sure these are lovely people :)
@@dayofthelords8371 you have no idea how watching this video had tears rolling down my cheeks. I've never seen anything like this before. I'm from India and skincare is expensive because we have to import them with shipping, not to mention custom duties which can sometimes amount to more than double the product. I've been searching and searching day in and out to get products offline, online and through instagram sellers but there's no other better than visiting a beautiful country and hoarding skincare. It's my dream.
@@asimanayak304 I'm from India too and I couldn't agree more! The quality seems amazing and living in Paris would be a dream come true ❤️
These guys have no idea how lucky they are that they can easily get these products whenever they want. I would hoard as much as possible if I ever get the chance to go there :P
I always go here when I'm in Paris. No matter the time of year, it's always packed full. But so worth the stress.
Same Sara! The busiest shop I'm willing to put up with 😂 I've been going back for 10 years! x
Was there just today. Soooooo crowded, seems everyone in the world knows about this place already. Some prices are good, some not so much, so you need to know what is a good price generally around the town, to make an educated choice. Bought a couple of itmes, but generally felt the plan was 'overhyped'. It was recommended to me by someone else before.
Definitely always crowded sadly! But I find the bargains worth it if you know what you're looking for. I always tell people that if they can't handle the rush, they'll find the same brands and almost all of the products in other pharmacies - City Pharma just has the biggest range and best discounts I've come across 👍 x
Totally agree about this place being overhyped. And the prices are not the best.
@@naniomitendayo I would say there are always few items there which are very well priced, to attract attention (for example, when I was there last week Listerin mouthwash was at 50% discount which I never saw anywhere else so far), but other items would be overpriced (for example, Skinceuticals). Their strategy is to get you excited and then you will just start throwing stuff into your shopping bag, without thinking that not everything is actually well priced
If you know of other pharmacies or stores that sell these types of French brands at better prices, please share! ☺️ x
@@matildaonvideo I prefer to shop online if I can reach the minimum free shipping threshold. it's a much better option to save you some coins and nerves.
Oh I LOVED this! It was a like mini vacation xx
Ohh so lovely to hear that, thank you! Editing this took me right back to summer in Paris too 😍 x
Just a heads-up for Canadians (or those visiting Canada, or those in the U.S. border towns)...you can find all these brands, Avene, Uriage, Klorane, Nuxe, at Shoppers Drug Mart and Rexall. 😊
Absolutely! These brands are quite widespread outside France now but the markup is usually very high 😩 x
@@matildaonvideo Hi Matilda! Ah ok, I can see that happening. Although at the Canadian retailers above they're often on sale (e.g. 30 percent off). I've had friends/co-workers in Canada not realize some of the brands (like Klorane) are available here. And they end up in the lines at City Pharma when on vacation.
I've been in City Pharma and loved it. I live in the Detroit area and have gone over to Shoppers drug Mart in Windsor to stock up on my French favorites. You can easily spend a couple hundred dollars for a medium-sized haul.
Prices are the same too. Shoppers has double bottle of bioderma for $28 Canadian right now. Christmas time there are always amazing “French pharmacy” gifts sets as well.
Watching your videos is always so relaxing. Thank you so much for these videos and please never stop making them!
Thank you so much, so glad you enjoy this series! It's one of my favourites to make ☺️ Lots more to come! x
French subscriber here 🙋🏻♀️ I only shop in pharmacies for my skincare! Bisous Matilda 😘
Merci Hannah! I bet your skin thanks you for it 😄 x
Would love to hear your recommendations?
MissAdamLambert888 Of course! Here are my favorite products from the pharmacy (not all used every single day, just some of my favorites):
-Embryolisse’s lait crème concentré to hydrate/ nourish my skin
-Caudalie’s vine activ detox oil before bed time
-Nuxe’s rêve de miel lipbalm before bed time
-Uriage’s classic lip balm in a stick or squeeze tube before makeup (my favorite day time lip balm)
-Bioderma’s micellar water to clean face (spray thermal water afterwards, it can irritate your skin if you don’t, even if the bottle says you don’t need to rinse)
-Vichy’s face cleansers are pretty good too but I usually stick to micellar water as I don’t put foundation on
-whenever I have leftover marks (red or dark) due to a hormonal spot, I use A-derma’s ultra repairing cream, which helps get rid of marks
-Vichy’s mineral 89 hydrating serum, it’s super refreshing too
Hope this helped ☺️
OMG YOU'RE AN ABSOLUTELY DOLL!!!! Thank you so much for *all* of your recommendations I really and truly appreciate it
MissAdamLambert888 you’re very welcome! You can find these products in pretty much any French pharmacy :)
For acne, I don’t know a specific product that could help as I don’t suffer from acne, but if I did, I’d definitely check if the brand Avene and Bioderma, I think they could have some effective products for acne. I usually use the Body Shop’s tea tree line if I get some hormonal acne, which usually helps dry out the spots
I love this calming, soothing, informative video! I found myself tapping my toes to the gentle waltz music too :)
Thank you so much, such lovely feedback! ☺️ x
Matilda, thank you so much for that lovely video. I have read so much about City Pharma and hope to visit one day. Beautiful filming and the music was so whimsical, perfect backdrop!!

french skincare products are AMAZING!!!!! in lebanon (where i am from) they are hella expensive but you want great skin? you gotta pay for it! :P
Absolutely, great skin awaits with these brands! So glad you're a fan too 👏 x
I’ll be in Paris in August. I can’t wait to visit. Love these videos!
Great timing! Have a lovely trip Teresa 😄 x
How I love Paris! And City Pharma is a must destination for all those affordable priced French beauty products. Embryolise is so wonderful and so in expensive there. I always stock up on that and sooo much more. Thank you for that mid-day retreat to Paris.
Thank you so much Maya! I loved putting this one together, definitely felt like a Parisian retreat for me too ☺️ x
Omg the music 😍Love you!
Thanks for watching! 🇫🇷 x
Those mini bioderma bottles! I just can't 😭😭😭
I have a trip planned to Paris later this year and watching this got me so excited
Have a great trip! 👏 x
This video made me so nostalgic! I did a study abroad in France back in 2015 and I've wanted to go back ever since. Great video!
Ohh lovely! I studied abroad in France when I was very young and completely fell in love with it, luckily going back many times. Hope you get to see it again McKenzie! ☺️ x
I love City Pharm and others scattered around Paris, then more and more in other cities and towns! It’s impossible not to take a quick look and ummm stock up ☺️💕
Always tempting! 👌 x
Thank you for sharing!! I went to Paris recently and was so sad I didn't get to go to city Pharma but I'm so happy I can visit with this lovely video as always 💖💖
Thank you so much! So nice to hear that, visiting through the video is what I'm aiming for with this series ☺️ I do hope you get to go back! x
Beauty paradise 😍
Absolutely! 🙌 x
i love paris, such a beautiful city. wish i could go again soon!
Me too, always dreaming of my next visit! 😍 I've been lots of times but could never have seen enough in a lifetime x
This alone makes me miss Paris lol. When I was there in September I went to city pharma TWICE! The prices were so much better than wheat I get at home and some items aren’t available stateside. Great video as always
Thank you, glad it took you back there! ☺️ I think I racked up three visits on this trip haha, I had two weeks in the city and it was within walking distance! x
Love french pharmacies ❤️
Me too! 🙌 x
Thanks for another great video.
Thank you Senja! ☺️ x
I will visit Paris in September so this was helpful! Thank you so much Matilda, as always! :)
Thank you Lea, hope you have a great time there! ☺️ x
finally my notifications didn't fail me
Good to hear! 😄 x
this is beautiful, makes me wish i was travelling instead of studying haha!
Thank you! Don't worry, you'll get there 😉✈️ x
Your videos are really beautiful and relaxing. 😍
Thank you so much! So lovely to hear that ☺️ I'm glad I managed to capture a little bit of calm and not too much of the crazy busy pharmacy haha x
Aww. Your shots are always great plus your voice is super relaxing.
So lovely! I would love to see a video on the things you purchased. I’m going to Paris in August and will 1000% be making a list. I watched your skincare video from last year but would love more product reviews! 🌞🌞🌞
Thank you Grace! Definitely planning to feature some French skincare content as soon as I can 👍 x
Matilda 🥳🥳🥳 yay!
I think I’m in love with Paris 😻it looks like home
Me too! I'll never get sick of visiting 😍 x
Thank you Matilda! Flight booked...on my waaaaay✈️
Haha thank you! 😄 x
I’ve been in that farmacy and it’s amazing♥️
It really is! 🙌 x
Planning my next trip just to revisit CityPharma. French skincare is everything
Isn't it heaven! 😍🇫🇷 x
Love Paris and french skincare- thankfully most of the stuff I use I can now stock up on in the UK for roughly the same prices!
Absolutely Phoebe! I do find prices outside France are always marked up to some degree, but the UK is definitely the next best option 👍 x
You've made me want to jump on the next Eurostar and go check it out! Thank you Matilda!
Haha thank you Andra! Hope you get to pop across and explore ☺️ x
reminds me of that jeanne damas video when she shop for her skincare
Yes! That was filmed in a different pharmacy but they all stock the same classic brands 👌 x
its all pretty much the same products in all the pharmacies xx
Incredible! Also.. 38 degrees! Exactly the reasons I love Paris in summer (actually.. all year round!) 😍
Haha I think the sign was broken slightly this day, it wasn't quite that hot, but it was on other days! Far too much for me 😩 but I'm willing to put up with it more on holiday, not in everyday life in Australia haha x
Matilda I was going to say - 38 is a bit stifling! But I love the European sun (as opposed to our harsh New Zealand sun!). On that note, looking forward to your new video about suncreams! 👏🏻
I’m going to Paris in two weeks, I’m totally going to have to visit this place!
Perfect timing Janelle! Have a great trip 👏 x
👋 Matilda .... moving to London makes Paris eminently doable via Eurostar.... and French pharmacy brands are working brilliantly on my older rosacea troubled skin! Thanks so much for this helpful video 🇾🇪🧴🗼❤️❤️❤️
I found myself in a similar situation on this trip Stacey - I was moving to London by train instead of flying anywhere else, so my suitcase was outrageously heavy thanks to City Pharma! 😂 x
I'm from Paris and always go there when I need to stock up on some products but the experience has become so frustrating as it's always always crowded. The prices are unbeatable. They also have an online boutique
Thank you! Glad to hear a local agree that City Pharma does have the best prices! But yes, always very crowded 😂 x
i have already been here twice since i have been in france!!! their prices are by far the cheapest of any of the pharmacies I have been to, i am so excited you were able to visit it too!
Thank you, glad you love it there as well! Gosh I've probably been going to City Pharma for about 10 years, always a compulsory pitstop when I'm in Paris 👏 x
@@matildaonvideo Their amount of inventory is incredible!! I ventured upstairs to try to find the A313 Pomade but it was too crazy, definitely on the next trip!
This is my idea of heaven too! My niece told me she wants to go to an m n m store with a suitcase! I think I'll apply her suggestion when I visit here :) thanks Matilda!
Haha absolutely, this is a skincare lover's version of a candy store! 😄👏 x
We are very lucky in Canada these brands and products are easily found in almost any pharmacy here. And the prices are comparable and sometimes less. 👍
Likewise, many of the brands are available in Australia but the prices are much better in France! 👌 Thanks for watching x
Matilda - Just stumbled across your channel and I really enjoy it. New sub 💛 Thank you for your work.
Love this I Wana save money and explore cult beauty corners around world 😍😍
I hope you get to explore too! ☺️ x
wish could have a chance to see that ''never in stock' heaven omgaaaa so guuuuuud!!!!
Everything is *always* in stock there! 👏 x
I was there in January and my husband and two teenage sons waited two hours for me! Needless to say, my suitcase was very heavy!
Perfect travel companions Louise! Glad they gave you time to browse 😄 x
I’m going there in little over a month!💛
Oh yay, have fun Ester! 👏 x
As someone who's French-Canadian (not European French), I thought this was a great video. Is love to try some of these products.
Thank you so much! 😄🇫🇷 x
My favourite place ! City Pharma !!!!!!! I got once a year to stock up ❤️❤️❤️ Interested to see what you picked up !
Can't get enough of it! My bag was seriously weighed down on this trip 😂 because I wasn't flying all the way home, I had a train out of Paris to London where I'd moved! x
Would also love to see, what she bought 😘😘
Love that Pharmacie think I loaded my suitcase with goodies last time but now you can buy nearly everything here or on line
I always load my suitcase too Ingrid! 😄 Luckily a lot of these brands are available elsewhere but the prices in France can't be beaten x
Sadly I’ve never been to Paris, but when the day comes I’ll know one of the stops I’ll have to make ☺️
I hope you get to visit! ☺️ x
Yessssss
😄👍 x
i just went to city pharma in paris a week ago!
Hope you enjoyed your visit! 😄🇫🇷 x
I had the most stressful time shopping there, but it was worth it!
Glad you got through it Crystal! 😄 x
Heaven Aussie Scorpio sister ! My favourites : Decleor - avene- la roche posay-caudalie 😉😉💜💛💚👼 hugs to your twin black Panthers
Glad you're a French skincare fan too Hayley! 👏 x
I've really been into Korean skincare for a while, but I'd love to learn more about French skincare! Their beauty routines seem so natural and fresh, which I could definitely get behind.
I've essentially had a French skincare routine for years! Some of the best products I've ever tried 👌 I'll certainly be sharing more soon x
OMG! How does one decide what t bring back to the states?
With difficulty Sandra! 😂 Luckily this time I was moving to London by train, no more flights involved with weight restrictions, so my suitcase had never been so heavy haha x
Wow ❤️🇦🇺
Thanks for watching Deb! 😄 x
I got a glossier play as before this video. Are you going to be making a glossier play video?
Absolutely Melissa! Follow me on Instagram @matildaonvideo, I've already mentioned it there. Coming in a few weeks once I have my hands on it! 👏 x
Hi Matilda! I am looking to buy a cream blush and I know that it where you shine. Would you recommend the rms lip to cheek or the Chanel rouge coco? I want to use the product on lips, cheeks and eyes. Any recommendations? Thanks a bunch x
Ooh gosh, both beautiful options Kalina! 👏 To be honest I prefer the light, dewy texture and applicator of Chanel's Rouge Coco Lip Blush, but RMS Lip2Cheek is more matte so might have more lasting power and a much wider shade range. They're both lovely so depends which texture and colours you're after! x
Matilda I think I’ll go for the lip blush in 420. Thank you so much for the reply!
💜💜💜
😄👋 x
great job Matilda.. love the song in the vid!!! can you tell me if there are any natural product brands there and which ones
Thank you! Caudalie is one of my absolute favourites, they make up a huge part of my skincare routine now, and they're natural 👌 You can see the vineyard and spa where the brand began in my previous Beauty Tour episode! x
@@matildaonvideo , thank you so much!!... that was another great video..
Hi Matilda, love your channel.
I'm planning a trip to Paris, please recommend some products to buy from city pharmacy.. I'm combination n acne prone
Thank you! Unfortunately I can't ever recommend any products, particularly not skincare because everyone's skin is so different. There are many excellent ranges in French pharmacies aimed at acne/oily/blemish-prone skin. Avene, La Roche-Posay and Bioderma all have products in that category 👍 x
@@matildaonvideo thanks Matilda, apart from skincare any body or hair, make up recommendation, I love your style of simple n classic make up... Especially lip n cheek
I am drooling now.... Caudalie, Nuxe, Bioderma....they are worth shit load of money in my country 😭.
And in mine! The markup outside France is enormous, so my suitcase is always a LOT heavier when I leave Paris with all that skincare 😂 x
Hi! How are you? I am thrilled to confirm that all of the brands that you have filmed are in Montreal - another reason for you to visit! In addition the Canadian dollar is cheaper than the Euro 🙋🏽
Montreal is one of the only major Canadian cities I didn't get to on my visits there! High on my wishlist. And your dollar is almost the same as the Aussie dollar! 😉 x
Matilda hi! Come in the summer! We can go on a beauty binge and see a JFL show!
Which skincare products are better-French or Korean/any other Asian based skincare? (I wasnt sure if there were other countries in Asia that were known for their skin care).
38°C? I'd go to the pharmacie just for the a/c haha
I think the screen was broken, it wasn't that hot that day 😄 But it was on others, such a scorching summer! x
@@matildaonvideo my first time in Paris was like that too 🌞
Gutted that when I use to live in England I never crossed the border. It was only an hour or two with Eurotrain 😭
Hope you'll get to visit one day! 🇫🇷 x
Hi, does anyone know Arnu Mathais by any chance
I went crazy in city pharma.
Me too, every time! 😂 x
Everyone doing French pharmacy hauls lol
Anyone know of any cruelty free French beauty? I can never seem to find any
Although animal testing has been illegal in the EU since 2013, many of these brands are still sold in China so can't be considered entirely cruelty-free unfortunately... Worth looking up each one though to double check! 👍 x
@@matildaonvideo yeah I have found that all the major brands do sell in China and haven't came across any other french brands yet but ill keep looking
Interesting, I was expecting prices to be way cheaper but they are just the same as here in Canada. It’s ok I still have plenty of other excuses to justify a trip. Lol
Lucky you Jen! They're *significantly* cheaper in Paris compared to Australia 🇫🇷 I bought 2x 500ml bottles of Bioderma micellar water for less than the price of one 250ml bottle back home x
Matilda - Oh wow that is quite the difference! Local drug store here has 2x 500ml for $28 cdn at the moment. If Canadian shipping costs weren’t so atrocious I’d send you some lol
Each time of a year this place is extremely crowded... I like their prices, but there's no pleasure into having a shopping there. But otherwise I adore French Pharmacy products!
You're right Lizzy, the experience can be overwhelming! I guess I try to find pleasure in seeing their fully stocked shelves and lower prices ☺️ x
@@matildaonvideo
In my country prices of these products are still very attractive. The difference between prices in the US and Europe when it comes to French cosmetics is often overwhelming ...
I'm from Australia and sadly the mark up here is enormous too! Much better to wait and stock up in Europe if possible 👍 x
@@matildaonvideo
Definitely. In my city, I found a pharmacy in which I buy Caudalie products. The prices are about 10-15% lower than those offered by the official online store :)
@@matildaonvideo Yes, you're right. I'm just missing Mecca Cosmetica in Europe and possibility to get your favorite sunscreen
Hi, can I use this video for my video about places to visit in Paris? i will credit you.
Unfortunately I never grant permission for my footage to be used on other channels. Thank you for watching and good luck with your video! 🇫🇷 x
Hi Matilda! love your channel. Can i ask, do the employees at City pharma speak english? My mom and I wasnt to go to Paris for a trip and my french isnt the best. lol
I was speaking in French with them but I'm sure they'd speak some English too! I heard a lot of other international visitors in there so I'm sure you'll be fine ☺️ x
@@matildaonvideo Awesome! thank you so much!
I speak some basic French, but when I was there, and once I got passed "Bonjour", everyone who assisted me had no problem speaking English. City Pharma will be the first place I go if I get back to Paris. It's so much fun!
@@barbaramrozowski7282 Thank you for your response. I'm super nervous that my basic french wont be un to par.
@@linet.d I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how many French people speak English, especially after you use some of the basic phrases and greetings such as Bonjour, Bonsoir, Merci, Au Revoir etc. And don't be shy about saying that your French is not the best. I've been to Paris twice by myself for a week each time, and they were the best vacations I've ever taken in my life. Relax, have fun and I hope you have a fantastic trip!
Make a haul video
Hope to show what I picked up in future! 👍 x
Is the only pharmacy like that in Paris?
There are pharmacies all over Paris but there's only one City Pharma! It has the widest range of stock and the best discounts 👍 x
@@matildaonvideo thanks so much! I'm going in May to Paris! So excited!!
Reminds me of Japanese drugstores for some reason
Ooh I dream of visiting those! 👏 x
yep!!!!!!they do test on animals.
Animal testing has been illegal in the EU since 2013 👍 x
If I visit here in France, can someone help me?
As I mentioned, there are lots of staff in white lab coats who can help you find what you need! 👍 x
@@matildaonvideo yeah, thanks for the advice
One day, i will be in Paris with the love of my life and we will be shopping in this store. #PagingTheUniverse #LetsMakeItHappen
I'll join you! 😂👌 x
Matilda Sis, better start stocking up on those gold bars coz we both got that luxe taste!😂😂😂
Advice from a french suscriber : buy those items in any other pharmacie !
Of course! I've spent a lot of time in France and know these brands are widely available, but I find the discounts at City Pharma worth the trip when I'm in Paris 👍 x
Chic French Chemist Warehouse ??lol
Haha not quite! 😉 Pharmacies in France just seem much more sophisticated to me than anywhere else in the world. Another one of my favourites around the corner from City Pharma is even a little old wooden apothecary! x
Very nice and tempting place. Unfortunately, almost no brands with no animal testing... This makes me sad...farmacy brands are usually good, but I cannot buy them anymore with a good consciousness.... So It's a pass for me....
Luckily not true - animal testing on any product sold in the European Union has been illegal since 2013 👏 x
That's true. But if you take a closer look, all brands that sell in China have to test on animals due to chinese law.
So if you buy f.e. L'occitane, the creme in a bottle selled in France was not tested. However, you give a support to a brand, that IS testing in China as they sell there.
Anyway, I don't want to bother you anymore, this is not your main concern on your channel. I just wanted to share my thoughts. Everybody is free to choose what he or she likes. I still like your videos!
❤️
Absolutely, the message that everyone should have freedom of choice is exactly what I try to share on my channel! So thank you, I appreciate you saying that ☺️👏 I've done my research on this topic before, but China is such a huge commercial market so it would be a huge financial loss and moral move for brands to withdraw from it. I hope more companies do take a stand and do that, but in the meantime, customers can take comfort in the fact that products purchased in the EU haven't been tested. It was a very positive legislative step back in 2013 x
