The fact that you do not have to manually separate ewes and the system is set to classify them by weight and weight gain is absolutely brilliant. Thanks Tim, another excellent video. Cheers
Basically, Yes. Gallagher now own Norton. They have reader panels that attach perfectly to Norton crushes, and remote weigh bars that seamlessly connect to the same reader that is in this video. Tech is getting REALLY exciting.
I suppose cost perspective depends on what you're trying to achieve. These guys are not just sorting by sex or weight, they are plotting growth characteristics and matching both maternal and paternal DNA in seconds. They are automating their entire flock breeding program. In one pass..... Without having to do paperwork..... But yeah, it depends what you're trying to do.
