I also love the fact that she’s adapting to her current vocal condition and working with what she has. What confuses me is that people feel like she’s working with scraps of her voice she literally hit the notes and did higher belts in certain areas in 2021.
2021 is definitely better because of the vocal arrangement, the notes, the choices she made - but her tone and whistle from her 2008 live was very well placed and made it an instant classic for all the lambs.
Her voice was much more healthier in 2008. 2021 represents a voice that is quite nasal, horrible condition, loss of flexibility and just horrid sounding in general.

I don't know why I see so many bad comments about the new version, saying that it is not at the level of the 2008 version, that its tone is not good, that the vocals don't sound similar, that the arrangement is not good and that it is not in I live, really, nothing seems to them, they are very demanding and nothing what they do convinces them, what a serious annoyance. Her 2008 vocals were more powerful and full despite the already declined state. Now her voice is less powerful, BUT she’s regained most of her agility in multiple registers including head voice/falsetto.
The 2008 was different live and 2021 is not live. 2008 was raspy in the 5th octave, 2021 there is no rasp in the 5th octave, but it's less resonant, thinner and more constricted. The 4th and 3rd octaves sound almost the same. But in 2021 she did more creative and challenging adlibs.

Its just pitch correction not autotune, but have u heard her sing during her SSFT in 2016? Her voice was very metallic and sounded autotuned naturally. Same as in 2013/early 2014.

does she get training and therapy? i honestly think that she could do much better than this even tho she sang it much better than some of her recent stuff, we all know that the current one is highly edited and is not live vs a live one (i do think the 2008 one is live) but i think that she could improve so much with therapy and correct breathing techniques that would make her voice resonate even more, still a good performance but i think could be much better no matter her age
Prefer the 08 version. Period
2008 has a much richer, fuller sound. 2021 sounds like she has a cold.

Why were there 1994 vocals on the 2008 version, a live version. It would’ve been much more accurate to compare the stylistic choices of the 1994 and 2021 versions, and that’s it.
